Villafranca Sicula

Burgio (Sicilian: Burgiu) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Agrigento in the Italian region Sicily, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) south of Palermo and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Agrigento. Burgio borders the following municipalities: Caltabellotta, Chiusa Sclafani, Lucca Sicula, Palazzo Adriano, Villafranca Sicula.

Lago di Magazzolo, or Lago Castello, is a lake in the Province of Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. The ruins of the Castello della Pietra d'Amico are located near the lake.

Monte Barraù (also known as Monte Barracù) is a mountain in the Monti Sicani, in Sicily, southern Italy. It has an elevation of 1,420 metres (4,659 ft), giving it the fourth highest elevation in the Monti Sicani after Rocca Busambra, Monte Cammarata and Monte delle Rose.

Cattolica Eraclea (Italian: [katˈtɔːlika eraˈklɛːa]; Sicilian: Catòlica) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Agrigento in the Italian region Sicily, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) south of Palermo and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northwest of Agrigento nearby the Platani river valley. The town was founded in medieval times. It received the name "Eraclea" in 1874, associating it to the ancient site of Heraclea Minoa nearby. The economy is based on agriculture, including production of vine, olives, agrumes, fruit, almonds, cereals and wheat.

Lago Prizzi is a lake in the Province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy. At an elevation of 638 m, its surface area is 0.9 km2.

Hippana or Hyppana (Ancient Greek: Ἵππανα), was an ancient town of Sicily. It sat astride the main road from Panormus (modern Palermo) to Agrigentum (modern Agrigento) upon Monte dei Cavalli, in the modern comune of Prizzi. It is an important archaeological site in situated in a central position between the Tyrrhenian coast and the Mediterranean Sea, halfway between Palermo and Agrigentum. It was mentioned by Polybius as being taken by assault by the Romans in the First Punic War, 260 BC. Diodorus, in relating the events of the same campaign, mentions the capture of a town called "Sittana", for which we should in all probability read "Hippana". The correctness of the name found in Polybius is confirmed by Stephanus of Byzantium (s. v.) who, however, writes it Ἵπανα but cites Polybius as his authority. Some manuscripts of Pliny mention the name of Ipanenses in his list of Sicilian towns where the older editions have Ichanenses. If this reading be adopted, it in all probability refers to the same place as the Hippana of Polybius; but as the reading Ichanenses is also supported by the authority of Stephanus (who notices Ichana as a town of Sicily), the point must be considered doubtful. Excavations in 2007 at Montagna dei Cavalli revealed a Greek theatre, one of the earliest known in Sicily and Magna Graecia. It dates to the second half of the 4th century BC and was destroyed in 258 BC, the year of the sacking of the city by the Romans in the first Punic war.

Prizzi is a town and comune of 5,711 inhabitants in the Italian Metropolitan City of Palermo, on the island of Sicily. It is located 84 km (52 mi) south of the city of Palermo at an altitude of 1045 m (3,428 ft) above sea level on a hill in the upper valley of the River Sosio. Prizzi is surrounded by the comuni of Campofelice di Fitalia, Castronovo di Sicilia, Lercara Friddi, Palazzo Adriano, Vicari, and the city of Corleone.

Siculiana Marina is a southern Italian seaside village of Siculiana, a municipality part of the Province of Agrigento, Sicily. It has a population of 29.

Cozzo Busonè is a hill located in Raffadali, Agrigento, inside which were found the Venuses of Busonè, two female statuettes of the Copper Age, now on display at the Regional Archaeological Museum of Agrigento. It was also the oldest human settlement of Raffadali and a necropolis. There are a number of Arab legends related to this hill, including one stipulating that every seven and a half years, in full moon nights of the hill is open, revealing a treasure inside. A famous Sicilian song was also dedicated to this hill. The hill has oven tombs and two chamber tombs with stone and ceramic objects from the Chalcolithic period; archaeological excavations in them from 1967 onwards revealed the Venus figurines of Busonè.

Giardina Galloti is a village of approximately 1200 inhabitants in the Sicilian province of Agrigento. It is part of the municipality of Agrigento.
