Red Clay Creek

Auburn Valley State Park (formerly Auburn Heights Preserve) is a state park, located in Yorklyn, Delaware, United States. The park, which is around 360 acres, preserves the former home and estate of the Marshall family as well as portions of the family's former mills alongside the Red Clay Creek and additional land purchased by the state. The preserve contains several miles of trails open to walking, biking, and antique cars, and the state owns conservation easements on 160 acres of privately owned land adjacent to the park to help maintain the park's rural character.The park also features what the state bills as the largest collection of operational steam cars in the world, and a miniature coal-powered train that runs on tracks encircling the estate. The mansion, mills, and steam museum were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 as the Auburn Mills Historic District.

It encompasses 9 contributing buildings, 4 contributing sites, and 1 contributing structure that were mostly between 1890 and 1910 and related to the Auburn Mill. The district contains industrial, commercial, and domestic structures. They include the Horatio Gates Garrett House, Israel Marshall House (1897), The "Bank" worker's row house, Auburn Store/NVP Office, Frame Workers' Housing Site, Insulite Mill (1900), Blacksmith's Shop Site, Auburn Mill, Utility Shed, and Trolley Line Trestle Piers.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Yorklyn is an unincorporated community in northern New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The Auburn Mills Historic District, Garrett Snuff Mills Historic District, Graves Mill Historic District, and Garrett Snuff Mill are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The National Vulcanized Fiber company was headquartered in Yorklyn, however since bankruptcy in 2008 the plant has been largely torn down and the land purchased by the State of Delaware for Auburn Heights Preserve, a Delaware State Park. Plans call for restoring the original Marshall Brothers Mill into a museum and using some of the original NVF buildings for other uses.

Garrett Snuff Mill, also known as the George W. Helme Company, is a historic snuff tobacco mill complex located at Yorklyn, New Castle County, Delaware. The complex includes 14 contributing buildings built between 1846 and 1901. The buildings are architecturally unified as most are built of brick, with the two earliest mills constructed of stone. The Garrett family introduced the manufacture of snuff to Delaware. The complex housed a snuff manufacturing operation until 1954.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The buildings were later incorporated into the Garrett Snuff Mills Historic District.

Garrett Snuff Mills Historic District is a national historic district located at Yorklyn, New Castle County, Delaware. The district encompasses 31 contributing buildings, including the 14 buildings previously listed in the Garrett Snuff Mill. The 17 additional buildings are 19th century domestic buildings associated with the mills. They include the mill owner's and supervisor's houses, a late Victorian frame house, and four rows of workers' housing.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Hockessin Friends Meetinghouse is a historic Quaker meeting house and national historic district located at 1501 Old Wilmington Road in Hockessin, New Castle County, in the U.S. state of Delaware. The district encompasses three contributing buildings and one contributing site. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Hindu Temple of Delaware is a Hindu temple in Hockessin, Delaware. Inaugurated in 2002, it is the first Hindu temple constructed in Delaware. According to The News Journal, the temple has become "a social and cultural gathering place" for Indian Americans in New Castle County.The temple's main deity is Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Chandler Mill Bridge, also known as Chester County Bridge No. 236, is a historic steel bridge located in Kennett Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It spans the West Branch of Red Clay Creek. It is a single span, 47-foot-long (14 m), built up steel plate girder bridge. The bridge was constructed in 1910, and features stone abutments and wingwalls.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.The bridge has been closed since May 6, 2011, due to its deteriorating condition.

Public School No. 29, also known as Lamborn Library, is a historic school building located at Hockessin, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1870 as a one-room school; a second floor and classroom was added about 1890. is a two-story, brick building on a stone foundation with basement. It has a gable roof and features fish-scale shingles and Stick style detailing on the gable ends. It was occupied by a school until 1932, after which it was used as a library and community center. The library moved to a new building in 1994.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Cloud-Reese House is a historic home located near Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. The original was built about 1770, and forms the rear wing. The main section dates to about 1820, and is a three-bay, two-story, stuccoed stone dwelling. In 1929, the house was renovated in the Colonial Revival style. This included the addition of a wing was added with a kitchen, pantry, laundry, three-car garage, and servants' quarters. Also on the property is a contributing low stone wall.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The A. Armstrong Farm was a historic farm located at Hockessin, New Castle County, Delaware. The property included two contributing buildings. They were a log house with a stone addition added in the 1830s, and a frame tri-level stone and frame barn (c. 1830s). The stuccoed log section was three bays wide, and it had a two-story, two bay stone wing. The farm house and barn were demolished before 2002. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
