The Blackhawk Country Club Mound Group is a group of Native American mounds on the grounds of Blackhawk Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin. The group includes an effigy mound shaped like a flying goose, three bear-shaped effigy mounds, a panther-shaped effigy, and an assortment of linear and conical mounds. The mounds were built by Late Woodland people between 650 and 1200 A.D.; these people were part of Wisconsin's Effigy Mound Culture, which was responsible for building the many mounds that can be found throughout the state. Country club member L. J. Markwardt convinced the club to preserve the mounds and restore a damaged section of the goose in the 1970s.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 1, 1979.

Hilldale Shopping Center, or simply Hilldale, is a partially enclosed shopping mall/lifestyle center development on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin, United States. Originally opened in October 1962, Hilldale has four anchor stores - Macy's, Target, Metcalfe's Market, and the AMC Dine-In Madison 6 movie theater - as well as over 40 specialty stores as of May 2018.

The John C. Pew House, also known as the Ruth and John C. Pew House, is located at 3650 Lake Mendota Drive, Shorewood Hills, Wisconsin. It was designed by American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938 for research chemist John Pew and his wife, Ruth. Built on a narrow lot, the two-story home steps down the sloping hill to the shore of Madison's Lake Mendota. A home in Wright's Usonian style, the building was meant to be economical: its cost was US$8,750 (US$161,804 in 2019). Construction was supervised by a member of Wright's Taliesin Fellowship, William Wesley "Wes" Peters (who was also Wright's son-in-law). Peters said to Wright about the building that, "I guess you can call the Pew house a poor man's Fallingwater." To which Wright was to have replied, "No, Fallingwater is the rich man's Pew House."The current owner is Elliot Butler.

Merrill Springs Mound Group II is a group of Native American mounds at 5030-5046 Lake Mendota Drive in Madison, Wisconsin. The group includes six to eight mounds and a nearby village site; it originally included up to 13-20 mounds, but many were destroyed by residential development in the area. It is one of four groups of mounds identified in an 1888 survey of the Merrill Springs resort area, which gives the group its name. The site includes two bear-shaped effigy mounds and an assortment of linear and conical mounds. The mounds were built by Late Woodland people between roughly 800 and 1100 A.D. The village site was also inhabited during the Late Woodland period, and projectile points and bones have been found there.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 1991.

The Center for Railroad Photography & Art, in Madison, Wisconsin, was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in Wisconsin on December 9, 1997, to inform “the public about railroad photography and art through education, research and public service programs.” The Center was fostered by John Gruber (1936-2018), a writer with a lifelong interest in railroads and their history who'd had the hobby of photographing railroads since 1960. The Railway and Locomotive History Society honored Gruber in 1994 with a lifetime achievement award in railroad photography. While the Center selectively collects high-quality photographs and works of art related to railroading and railroad workers, it has no museum, but rather collaborates with archives and public museums in creating programs with a national outreach. These programs include exhibitions, publications, conferences, a website, and an Internet archive (railroadheritage.org).

The University Hill Farms Historic District is located in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Walter and Mary Ellen Rudin House is a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Marshall Erdman prefab building located at 110 Marinette Trail, Madison, Wisconsin. Designed in 1957, it is the first of the only two examples of the second type (known as Prefab #2) of the Marshall Erdman Prefab Houses. This house and the James McBean Residence have the same floor plan and vary only in minor details such as paint color and siting. Construction was completed in June, 1959 and the house was sold to UW-Madison mathematicians Walter and Mary Ellen Rudin. The house has a large, square 2-story living room which is lit by a wall of windows. Also on the first floor are the dining area, kitchen, entry hall, utility room, and the master bedroom. A large concrete block fireplace separates the kitchen and living room. A stairway leads to a balcony and three second-story bedrooms. Unusual for a Wright-designed house, it has a full basement. The house is constructed from concrete block with horizontal board and batten siding. A row of windows just below the soffit make the chunky flat cantilevered roof appear to float above the house. A carport attached to one corner of the house completes the design.

The Spring Harbor Mound Group consists of two Native American mounds located north of Spring Harbor Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin. The site includes a bear-shaped effigy mound on the grounds of the school and a linear mound on private property. The mounds were constructed between roughly 800 and 1100 A.D. by Late Woodland people. White settlers first discovered the mounds in the late 19th century, and surveys done between 1905 and 1910 reported that the group had four to six mounds. By 1989, when the Wisconsin Historical Society surveyed the group, all but two of the mounds had been destroyed by development.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 1991.

Shorewood Hills is a village in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. It was established in 1927. The population was 2,169 at the 2020 census. Entirely surrounded by the city of Madison and Lake Mendota, it is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Dr. Charles and Judith Heidelberger House is a historic residence located in Madison, Wisconsin, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house was built in 1951. A two-story master bedroom, also designed by Herb Fritz, was added in 1956.

The Sunset Hills Historic District is a residential historic district encompassing the Sunset Hills subdivision on the near west side of Madison, Wisconsin. The district includes 93 houses developed between 1955 and 1978, all designed by professional architects in the Modern style. Developer Willis E. Gifford, who also developed the Pilgrim Village subdivision in 1939, planned Sunset Hills; the idea for a single-family neighborhood of professionally designed houses came after Pilgrim Village residents rejected his original plan for apartments. Madison was growing rapidly at the time, and the new subdivision catered to affluent professionals who came to the city for work, including many professors and administrators at the University of Wisconsin. The district includes several designs by Herb Fritz Jr., a Madison architect who worked under Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin, and William V. Kaeser, who worked for Frank M. Riley and was heavily influenced by Wright. It also has three houses designed by Elizabeth Mackay Ranney, the only practicing female architect in Madison in the 1960s.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 15, 2015.
