Dr. Floyd B. Buchanan High School, known as Buchanan High School, is a four-year public high school in Clovis, California, United States. The school is part of the Buchanan Educational Center, which houses approximately 5,000 students at Garfield Elementary School (K-6), Alta Sierra Intermediate School (7-8), and Buchanan High School. The school graduated its first class in the spring of 1995, and is named after CUSD's first district superintendent, Dr. Floyd B. Buchanan, which makes Buchanan High School the only CUSD high school that does not contain "Clovis" in its name.

It is in the State Center Community College District (SCCCD) along with Fresno City College and Reedley College (which includes the Madera and Oakhurst Centers). El Prado is a former settlement in Fresno County, California. It was located at the junction of the San Joaquin and Eastern and the Southern Pacific Railroads 6 miles (9.7 km) north-northwest of Clovis, at an elevation of 377 feet (115 m). The primary function of the settlement was as a switch yard and was initially known as "Nopac Siding", which was changed to El Prado (The Meadow) shortly after its construction. It still appeared on maps as of 1922.

California Health Sciences University (CHSU) is a private, for-profit university located in Clovis, in the U.S. state of California. Founded in 2012, the school operates three academic programs, two of which offer doctoral degrees in pharmacy and osteopathic medicine, and the third offers a masters degree in science. The Helm Canal is an aqueduct named after William Helm in Clovis, California, United States, involved in a series of water transfers to eliminate selenium bearing brackish waters to the San Joaquin River to bypass agricultural deliveries.The Helm canal was previously used to irrigate numerous properties that were in agricultural usage and are presently converted to urban uses such as the site of the Clovis Towne Center. Topography in the locale of the Helm Canal is generally very level having been formed by alluvial fans. The elevation in the vicinity of the Helm Canal is approximately 350 ft (110 m) to 375 ft (114 m) above mean sea level datum.

Clovis is a city in Fresno County, California, United States. Clovis was established in 1890 as a freight stop for the San Joaquin Valley Railroad by a group of Fresno businessmen and Michigan railroad speculator Marcus Pollasky. The railroad bought the land from two farmers and named the station after one of them, Clovis Cole. Pollasky then developed a town on the site, also named Clovis. The completion of the lumber flume in 1894 led to the growth of the area around Clovis Station where a lumberyard and sawmill were built. Clovis was officially incorporated as a city in 1912. Today, Clovis celebrates its heritage as an American frontier town, known for its rodeo, Old Town Clovis historic district, and its motto "Clovis – A Way of Life." The 2020 population was 120,124. Clovis is located 6.5 miles (10.5 km) northeast of downtown Fresno, at an elevation of 361 feet (110 m).

Millerton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Fresno County, California, United States. It is located 3 miles (5 km) east of Friant and 23 miles (37 km) north-northeast of Fresno. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.
