Sabattus (CDP), Maine

Sabattus is a town in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. The population was 5,044 at the 2020 census. It is included in both the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan New England City and Town Area. The town was formerly known as "Webster", and changed its name to "Sabattus" in 1971, in honor of a former Anasagunticook Indian chief. The village of Sabattus is in the northwestern corner of the town, at the outlet of Sabattus Pond.

The Webster Rubber Company Plant, formerly the Webster Woolen Mill No. 1-1/2, is an historic industrial site on Greene Street in Sabattus, Maine. Built in 1869 as a textile mill, it was a fixture of the town's economy well into the 20th century, and is good local example of industrial Italianate architecture. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. In 2015, the property was vacant, and it was demolished in 2018.

Cushman Tavern was an historic tavern (later a private residence) at Maine State Route 9 and Webster Corner Road in Sabattus and Lisbon, Maine. Built c. 1825, this Federal period house was most significant for the folk artwork drawn on the walls of its halls and stairwell by Orison Wood, an itinerant muralist and protégé of Rufus Porter, a well-known exponent of the form. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It was demolished in 2019 after standing vacant and deteriorating for several years, and was delisted in 2020.

The Clough Meeting House, also known as the Second Free Will Baptist Church, is a historic church at 32 South Lisbon Road in Lewiston, Maine. Built in 1846 for a Free Will Baptist congregation, it is notable for its "reverse plan" layout (with the pulpit at the rear), and its distinctive grain-painted interior. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Greene is a census-designated place (CDP) and the primary village in the town of Greene, Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. It is northeast of the center of the county, and in the center of the town of Greene. U.S. Route 202 passes through the village, leading southwest 7 miles (11 km) to the center of Lewiston and northeast 22 miles (35 km) to Augusta, the state capital. Greene was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

Lisbon is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Lisbon, Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. It is one of the two main villages in the town, the other being Lisbon Falls. Lisbon village is in the western half of the town of Lisbon and is located on the Sabattus River, a south-flowing tributary of the Androscoggin River. Maine State Route 196 passes through the village, leading southeast 3 miles (5 km) to Lisbon Falls and northwest 7 miles (11 km) to Lewiston. The small village of Lisbon Center is in the southeast part of the CDP. Lisbon was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Farwell Mill is an historic former mill complex at 244 Lisbon Street (Maine State Route 196) in Lisbon, Maine. Built in 1872, it is a fine example of a cotton mill built at the height of the Industrial Revolution. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is now residential housing.

Marcotte Nursing Home is an historic elder care facility at 102 Campus Avenue in Lewiston, Maine. Built in 1927 and opened the following year, it was the largest facility of its type in New England, representing a major step forward in the region's elder care. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is now part of the d'Youville Pavilion of Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
