The school, a part of the Keokuk Community School District, draws students from the southernmost part of Lee County, Iowa. For athletics, Keokuk High School is classified as 3A, the second largest class in Iowa. They are a member of the Southeast Conference.

Keokuk Catholic Schools, also operating as St. Vincent's Elementary School is a Catholic School in Keokuk, Iowa. It was established circa 1853. It previously consisted of two separate campuses, one being St. Vincent's School and one being Cardinal Stritch High School. The high school merged into Holy Trinity Catholic Schools of Fort Madison, Iowa in 2006, and the elementary school moved into the former high school building. At that time the St. Vincent's name was dropped, but by 2013 the school had plans to again use that name.

Keokuk National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in the city of Keokuk in Lee County, Iowa. It encompasses 22.7 acres (9.2 ha), and as of 2021, had over 6,000 interments. It is administered by Rock Island National Cemetery.

The Des Moines River ( ) is a tributary of the Mississippi River in the upper Midwestern United States that is approximately 525 miles (845 km) long from its farther headwaters. The largest river flowing across the state of Iowa, it rises in southern Minnesota and flows across Iowa from northwest to southeast, passing from the glaciated plains into the unglaciated hills, transitioning near the capital city of Des Moines in the center of the state. The river continues to flow in a southeastern direction away from Des Moines, flowing directly into the Mississippi River. The Des Moines River forms a short portion of Iowa's border with Missouri between Lee County, Iowa and Clark County, Missouri. The city of Des Moines, Iowa, was named for the river.

Sandusky is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County, Iowa, United States. It is in the southeast part of the county, on the west bank of the Mississippi River 4 miles (6 km) north of Keokuk, the county seat, and 6 miles (10 km) south of Montrose. Sandusky was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. As of the 2020 census, its population was 297.

Keokuk Community School District (KCSD) is a public school district headquartered in Keokuk, Iowa. It is entirely in Lee County, and serves Keokuk and the rural areas to the north and west of Keokuk. The district borders the states of Illinois to the east and Missouri to the south. As of 2018 it had about 1,860 students, making it the 43rd largest school district in Iowa.

The Church of All Saints is a parish of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Davenport. The church is located in Keokuk, Iowa, United States. The church building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as St. Peter Church, the name of the congregation that built it. The parish of All Saints was established in 1982 as the result of the consolidation of the parishes of St. Peter's (1856), St. Mary's (1867), and St. Francis de Sales (1870). All three contributed furniture and fixtures to the newly constituted All Saints. The parish church is the former St. Peter's; St. Francis de Sales was subsequently demolished.

Perry Park was the home field for the Keokuk Westerns of the National Association during the 1875 season, so it is considered a major league ballpark by those who count the NA as a major league. The Westerns played their first game against the Chicago White Stockings on May 4, 1875, at Perry Park, which was located in a field beyond Rand Park. They played their last game on June 14, 1875, against the New York Mutuals also at Perry Park.

The Warsaw Historic District is a historic district encompassing the inner core of Warsaw, Hancock County, Illinois. As the city has lost many of its outlying residential areas, the district includes nearly all of the town's developed area, which has been relatively unchanged since the late 19th century. The city was settled in the 1810s and 1820s as a military outpost on the Mississippi River and was platted in 1833. As an economically significant port city, the town grew steadily until the 1870s, reaching a peak population of 5,000 to 15,000 people; it has declined since and now has less than 2,000 residents. The town's historic buildings include a commercial core along Main Street and low-density residential areas in the rest of the district. The Greek Revival, Federal, and Italianate architectural styles are all well-represented among the district's buildings. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 16, 1977.

Keokuk is a city in and a county seat of Lee County, Iowa, United States. It is Iowa's southernmost city. The population was 9,900 at the time of the 2020 census. The city is named after the Sauk chief Keokuk, who is recognized with a statue in Rand Park. It is in the extreme southeast corner of Iowa, where the Des Moines River meets the Mississippi. It is at the junction of U.S. Routes 61, 136 and 218. Just across the rivers are the towns of Hamilton and Warsaw, Illinois, and Alexandria, Missouri. Keokuk, along with the city of Fort Madison, is a principal city of the Fort Madison-Keokuk micropolitan area, which includes all of Lee County, Iowa, Hancock County, Illinois and Clark County, Missouri.
