The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (Russian: Министерство просвещения Российской Федерации) is a ministry of the Government of Russia responsible for education. The Ministry of Education oversees schooling and school accreditation, the establishment, maintenance, and closures of state schools, and controls the curriculums therein. It provides the procedural guidelines for interpersonal communications between schools, parents, legal guardians, and students, particularly in instances of unexpected or extenuating circumstances, such as the school closures or misconduct of school employees. It also governs institutions of professional and vocational education. It is headquartered at Tverskaya Street 11 in Tverskoy District, Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow.The Ministry of Education was established on 17 May 2018 after the Ministry of Education and Science was split into two parts, with the departments for universities and scientific institutions forming the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Its first minister was Olga Vasilieva, the minister of the previous ministry. The name of the Ministry of Education is sometimes translated into English as the "Ministry of Enlightenment" or "Ministry of General Education." Sergey Kravtsov has served as the Minister of Education since 21 January 2020.

Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (Russian: Министерство образования и науки Российской Федерации or Minobrnauki of Russia) existed from March 2004 till May 2018. It oversaw scientific institutions, education and school accreditation in the Russian Federation. The agency had its headquarters in Tverskoy District, Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow.The ministry managed Institutes of Higher Education of Russia, the State educational establishment ("training center of training leaders"), Center of the testing, National Information Center on Academic Recognition and Mobility. The last Minister was Olga Vasilyeva. In May 2018 it was decided to split this Ministry into the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History (RGASPI) (Russian: Российский государственный архив социально-политической истории (РГАСПИ)) is a large Russian state archive based in Moscow, which holds pre-1952 archives of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). It is managed by Rosarkhiv. It was established in 1999 as merger of two other archives, the Russian Centre for the Preservation and Study of Documents of Most Recent History (RTsKhIDNI, Russian: Российский центр хранения и изучения документов новейшей истории (РЦХИДНИ) and the Centre for the Preservation of Documents of Youth Organizations (Russian: Центр хранения документов молодежных организаций (ЦХДМО)). Post-1952 archives of the CPSU are collected in the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History. The archives include many of the personal papers of major Communist and Soviet leaders, including Nikolai Bukharin, Felix Dzerzhinsky, Lazar Kaganovich, Mikhail Kalinin, Lev Kamenev, Sergei Kirov, Georgy Malenkov, Anastas Mikoyan, V. M. Molotov, Georgi Plekhanov, Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky, and Grigory Zinoviev.

Moscow City Hall Building (Russian: Здание мэрии Москвы) (also known as Golitsin House (Russian: дом Голицина) and Chernyshev Estate (Russian: Усадьба Чернышёва)) is a building located in Moscow at 13 Tverskaya Street. It was built in 1782 according to the design of the architect Matvey Kazakov and until 1917 served as the residence of Moscow governors general. After the October Revolution, the house was occupied by the Moscow City Council, the city legislature during the Soviet period. Since 1993, the building has been under the control of the Mayor of Moscow and the Government of Moscow.

Moscow Art Theatre School is the studio school of the Moscow Art Theatre. It is a state educational institution that has existed since 1943. The initiator of the studio school was Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko.Open three faculties — the cast (training — 4 years, the competition — 30 per place), staging (training — 5 years, the contest — 3 persons per place) and Producer (training — 5 years, the competition — 4 persons per place). Hotel Lux (Люксъ) was a hotel in Moscow during the Soviet Union, housing many leading exiled and visiting Communists. During the Nazi era, exiles from all over Europe went there, particularly from Germany. A number of them became leading figures in German politics in the postwar era. Initial reports of the hotel were very good, although its problem with rats was mentioned as early as 1921. Communists from more than 50 countries came for congresses, for training or to work. By the 1930s, Joseph Stalin had come to regard the international character of the hotel with suspicion and its occupants as potential spies. His purges created an atmosphere of fear among the occupants, who were faced with mistrust, denunciations, and nightly arrests. The purges at the hotel peaked between 1936 and 1938. Germans who had fled Nazi Germany, seeking safety in the Soviet Union, were interrogated, arrested, tortured, and sent to forced labour camps. Most of the 178 leading German communists who were killed in Stalin's purges were residents of Hotel Lux.

Moscow Chekhov Art Theatre (Russian: Московский Художественный театр имени А. П. Чехова) is a drama theatre in Moscow founded in 1987 after the division of the Gorky Moscow Art Theatre into two theatres. Since 1989, it has been named after Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, one of its main authors. In 2004, it returned to its historical name, "Moscow Art Theatre", abandoning the title "academic". Its artistic director is Konstantin Khabensky, People's Artist of the Russian Federation(since October 28, 2021).

Bolshaya Dmitrovka Street is a street located in Tverskoy District of Moscow. It runs from Okhotny Ryad to Strastnoy Boulevard. The numbering of houses is carried out from Okhotny Ryad.

Stoleshnikov Pereulok or Stoleshnikov Lane (Russian: Столешников переулок) is a short street with boutiques and shops with many luxury goods located within the Boulevard Ring in central Moscow and known as one of the most expensive shopping areas in the world. The street runs from Tverskaya Street in the west, to Petrovka Street in the east.

Chekhovskaya (Russian: Чеховская) is a station of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. It was opened on December 31, 1987, and served as the northern terminus of the line for the following year. Its depth is 62 metres (203 ft). The vestibule is located in Pushkinskaya Square, while the station is named for the writer Anton Chekhov. It was the deepest station in Moscow Metro from 1987 until 1991.

The Moscow Art Theatre (or MAT; Russian: Московский Художественный академический театр (МХАТ), Moskovskiy Hudojestvenny Akademicheskiy Teatr (МHАТ)) was a theatre company in Moscow. It was founded in 1898 by the seminal Russian theatre practitioner Konstantin Stanislavski, together with the playwright and director Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko. It was conceived as a venue for naturalistic theatre, in contrast to the melodramas that were Russia's dominant form of theatre at the time. The theatre, the first to regularly put on shows implementing Stanislavski's system, proved hugely influential in the acting world and in the development of modern American theatre and drama. It was officially renamed the Gorky Moscow Art Theatre in 1932. In 1987, the theatre split into two troupes, the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre and the Gorky Moscow Art Theatre.

The Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre (Russian: Московский академический Музыкальный театр имени народных артистов К. С. Станиславского и Вл. И. Немировича-Данченко) is a music theatre in Moscow. The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre was founded in 1941 when two companies directed by the legendary reformers of twentieth-century theatre — Konstantin Stanislavski and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko — merged: the Stanislavsky Opera Theatre (established at the end of 1918 as an Opera Studio of the Bolshoi Theatre) and the Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre (set up in 1919 as a Studio of the Moscow Art Theatre). The ballet company entered the Theatre as a part of Nemirovich-Danchenko's troupe. It was the former company of the Moscow Art Ballet, established in 1929 by Victorina Krieger, the ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre. She was Artistic Director and one of the principal dancers of the Moscow Art Ballet. Soon after Stanislavsky's death, Nemirovich-Danchenko took charge of all the companies (Vsevolod Meyerhold invited by Stanislavsky to work for his theatre, was arrested in 1939, and no other stage director could prove equal to Nemirovich-Danchenko). Then the theatre was given its present name.
