Rush Tower, Missouri

Danby is an unincorporated community in southeast Jefferson County, in the U.S. state of Missouri.The community is adjacent to the west side of I-55 approximately nine miles southeast of Festus. Isle du Bois Creek, which forms the border between Jefferson and Ste. Genevieve counties, flows past approximately 1.5 miles south of the community.

Selma is an unincorporated community in southeastern Jefferson County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located on the west side of US Route 61 approximately six miles southeast of Festus. The Mississippi River floodplain lies two miles to the east.

Selma Hall also known as Selma Farm and Kennett Castle is a historic mansion and estate located in Jefferson County, Missouri along the Mississippi River. The mansion was designed in the style of Castello di Vezio by George I. Barnett and constructed in 1854 at a cost of $125,000 for Ferdinand Kennett. The mansion features a four-story tower constructed from locally quarried limestone by slave labor. Kennett and his brother Luther Kennett owned nearby lead mines, shot towers for the manufacture of bullets, steamboats, and slaves. The land was given to Ferdinand’s wife, Julia (née Deaderick), by her grandfather John Smith T, a wealthy lead miner and famous duelist. Ferdinand died in the mansion in 1861 before it was nearly destroyed during the Civil War by gun boats that fired upon the easy target from the Mississippi River below. The mansion was restored to its original appearance only to be destroyed again by fire in 1939, leading to a second restoration by then owner William O. Schock.Before the mansion was owned by Schock, it passed from Robert Brookings to W. K. Cavanaugh. The mansion and property was purchased by the Mississippi River Fuel Corporation in 1952 for $450,000 and it was used a conference center. The Mississippi River Fuel Corporation owned a controlling interest in the Missouri Pacific Railroad which was eventually purchased by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1982 who also used the mansion as a corporate retreat and conference center. In 2020, Union Pacific decided to cut costs and attempted to sell the property and adjacent 18-hole golf course for $25 million, the property sold for an undisclosed amount to an anonymous LLC in June 2021.

Chaflin Bridge is an unincorporated community in the historic Mitchie Precinct of Monroe County, Illinois, United States. It lies on the old Bluff Road in the American Bottoms between Fults and the old site of Valmeyer and near Maeystown.

Isle du Bois Creek is a stream in Jefferson and Ste. Genevieve counties of the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Mississippi River.The stream headwaters arise at 38°05′24″N 90°20′27″W in southern Jefferson County and it flows to the east-northeast for approximately one-half mile. At this point it becomes the boundary between the two counties and meanders to the east and northeast. The stream passes under I-55 and US Route 61 approximately 1.5 miles south of the community of Danby. The stream continues on to the east-northeast to its confluence with the Mississippi at the south end of Rush Island at 38°06′01″N 90°13′56″W.Isle du Bois is a name derived from the French denoting "isle of the woods".

Wolf Hollow is a valley in Ste. Genevieve County in the U.S. state of Missouri.Wolf Hollow was so named on account of wolves in the area.

Fults is a village in the Renault precinct of Monroe County, Illinois, United States. The population was 28 at the 2020 census. It is located entirely within the American Bottom floodplain of the Mississippi River.

Morrison Hollow is a valley in Ste. Genevieve County in the U.S. state of Missouri.Morrison Hollow has the name of the local Morrison family.

Needmore is an unincorporated community in Jackson Township in northern Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri, United States. It is situated approximately 12 miles northwest of Ste. Genevieve. The community was founded in 1905 by workers at the lime plant at Brickey's. The workers had previously lived on company property, and settled Needmore to be more independent from the restrictions imposed on them by the lime plant company. Neighbors often said that the people in the new settlement were always needing more, hence the name.

Plattin Creek is a stream in northeastern St. Francois and Jefferson counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Mississippi River.The headwaters arise in St. Francois County at 37°59′00″N 90°22′18″W and it flows to the north past the community of Koester to enter Jefferson County. It continues to the north passing the community of Plattin and passing under US Route 61 and I-55 at the south edge of Festus. The stream veers to the east and enters the Mississippi southeast of Crystal City at 38°12′55″N 90°21′35″W at an elevation of 390 feet.Plattin Creek most likely derives its name from nearby La Platte Mine.

Maeystown is a village in Monroe County, Illinois, United States. The population was 150 at the 2020 census.

Valley View is an unincorporated community in Jackson Township in Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri, United States. Valley View is located at the junction of Interstate 55 and Supplemental Route DD, 4.3 miles (6.9 km) northwest of Bloomsdale.
