Emajõe Business Centre (Estonian: Emajõe ärikeskus, colloquially "Plasku" or "Pläsku") is a business centre in Tartu, Estonia. The centre is located at the Emajõgi river. The centre was designed by Kalle Rõõmus. The centre was opened in 1998. The centre has 14 storeys and its height is 52 m.

Tartu Department Store (Estonian: Tartu Kaubamaja) is a shopping mall in Tartu, Estonia. The mall belongs to Tallinna Kaubamaja Grupp. The mall was built in 2005. In 2013, a new children's and home world was opened in Tartu Kaubamaja. In 2015–16, the mall was renovated.

Science Centre AHHAA (Estonian: Teaduskeskus AHHAA) is a science centre located in Tartu, Estonia, and is currently the largest science centre in the Baltic states. AHHAA was established to promote science and technology using interactive exhibits. Since 7 May 2011, Science Centre AHHAA has been in the building located in the centre of Tartu.

Tartu Synagogue (Estonian: Tartu sünagoog) was a synagogue in Tartu, Estonia.The synagogue was built in 1903 and was designed by a local architect R. Pohlmann.The synagogue was destroyed during WW II. Many of the synagogue's items were saved and these can be seen in Estonian National Museum.

The Dorpat Voivodeship (Polish: Województwo dorpackie or województwo derpskie) was a unit of administrative division and local government in the Duchy of Livonia, part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, from 1598 until the Swedish conquest of Livonia in the 1620s. The seat of the voivode was in the town of Dorpat (Tartu), while the regional assembly (sejmik) for the whole province of Livonia was located in Wenden. The area of the Dorpat Voivodeship was app. 9,000 square kilometers, and it had two senators in the Senate of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. The voivodeship was created by King Zygmunt III Waza in 1598, out of the Dorpat Presidency, which had existed since the Truce of Jam Zapolski (1582). It was divided into five districts: district (starostwo) of Dorpat (Tartu) district (starostwo) of Oberpahlen (Põltsamaa) district (starostwo) of Lais (Laiuse) district (starostwo) of Kirrumpah (Kirumpää) district (starostwo) of Neuhausen (Vastseliina)It effectively ceased to exist in 1621, when northern Livonia was conquered by the Swedish Empire, and turned into Swedish Livonia (see also Polish–Swedish War (1600–1629)). Officially, the Dorpat Voivodeship was liquidated in 1660, following the Treaty of Oliva. Nevertheless, the title of Voivode of Dorpat was kept until the Partitions of Poland, as the so-called "fictitious title" (Polish: urzad fikcyjny).

Tartu City Museum (Estonian: Tartu Linnamuuseum) is a museum in Tartu, Estonia which focuses on the history of Tartu.The museum was founded in 1955. The museum building was built in the late 18th century.As of 2015, the museum has about 158,000 items.The museum permanent exhibition name is "Dorpat. Yuryev. Tartu."The museum has four branches: 19th Century Tartu Citizen's Home Museum; KGB Cells Museum; Oskar Luts Home Museum; Song Festival Museum.

Aura Center (Estonian: Aura Keskus) is a swimming center in Tartu, Estonia.The center was opened on 1 October 2001.According to the center, they have about 350,000 visitors a year and an average of about 1,000 a day.

Kaarsild ('Arch Bridge') is a pedestrian bridge in Tartu, Estonia. The bridge connects the city's centre and the Ülejõe District.The bridge was built in 1957–1959 on the site of the former Stone Bridge; this bridge was destroyed during WWII.In 2017, the bridge was renovated.At night, the bridge is illuminated with lighting effects.

Snail Tower (Estonian: Tigutorn) is an apartment building in Tartu, Estonia. The tower resembles a gastropod shell, hence the name "snail tower". The tower was designed by Vilen Künnapu and Ain Padrik and was opened in 2008. The tower has 23 floors.

Kesklinn (Estonian for "City centre") is a neighbourhood of Tartu, Estonia. It has a population of 6,517 (as of 31 December 2013) and an area of 1.80 km2 (0.69 sq mi).

Vanemuine (lit. 'Eldermost') is a theatre in Tartu, Estonia. It is the first Estonian language theatre. Stemming from the Vanemuine Society (1865), the theatre's first performance was Lydia Koidula's Saaremaa Onupoeg ("The cousin from Saaremaa") at the society's fifth anniversary. In subsequent years, Vanemuine has expanded to include a symphony orchestra and ballet company, while its repertoire has included a range of operettas and music theatre through operas and dramas. Under Karl Menning, the theatre served a vocational purpose, with a great emphasis on educating future talent. Subsequent directors prioritized entertainment value, while Kaarel Ird—who led Vanemuine for more than forty years—oversaw a blend of genres as well as tours of the Soviet Union. In recent years, content has varied extensively. Vanemuine has occupied a series of venues. The original Vanemuine Society House on Jaama Street operated for 33 years before being destroyed by fire in 1903. In 1906, it was replaced by a new hall designed by the Finnish architect Armas Lindgren at its current location. This venue was expanded in the 1930s to address technical issues, but destroyed by a bomb during World War II. Vanemuine returned in the former Tartu German theatre in 1944; rebuilt after a 1983 fire, this theatre is today nicknamed the "little house". A 682-seat hall (the "big house") was completed in 1967, with the 842-seat Vanemuine Concert Hall following in 1970.

Paraphrase E is one of a series of avant-garde drawings called paraphrases by Ado Vabbe in the Tartu Art Museum.The drawing shows a set of lines that act as partial contours of possible images, such as faces and the rear end of a horse. Ado Vabbe was the first to bring abstraction to Estonia after studying with Vassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc in Munich during the years 1911-1923. The German Expressionist Group Der Blaue Reiter was to have a great influence on his own work, and his "paraphrases" influenced young artists in Estonia.
