Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton

Camp Pendleton South is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Diego County, California, located at the southwest corner of the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The population was 10,616 at the 2010 census, up from 8,854 at the 2000 census. Much of the population are residents of Camp Pendleton barracks situated in the area, as well as housing communities for married Marine and Navy personnel and their families. It, along with Camp Pendleton Mainside CDP, is one of two CDPs on the base.

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is the major West Coast base of the United States Marine Corps and is one of the largest Marine Corps bases in the United States. It is on the Southern California coast in San Diego County and is bordered by Oceanside to the south, San Clemente and Orange County to the north, Riverside County to the northeast, and Fallbrook to the east. The base was established in 1942 to train U.S. Marines for service in World War II. By October 1944, Camp Pendleton was declared a "permanent installation," and by 1946 it became the home of the 1st Marine Division. It was named after Major General Joseph Henry Pendleton (1860–1942), who had long advocated setting up a training base for the Marine Corps on the West Coast. Today it is home to myriad Operating Force units, including the I Marine Expeditionary Force and various training commands.

The WWII/Korea LVT Museum is located in a Quonset hut-style building at Camp Del Mar, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, near the Assault Amphibian School Battalion Training Command. It houses exhibits on landing vehicles tracked (LVTs) from World War II and the Korean War, including six vintage models used by the US Marine Corps. The museum highlights the service of the "Alligator" Marines during the amphibious assaults of World War II and the Korean War. In 1996, the museum won the prestigious Colonel John H. Magruder III Award from the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.

The San Luis Rey River is a river in northern San Diego County, California. The river's headwaters are in the Palomar Mountain Range and Cleveland National Forest, near Palomar Mountain and the Santa Rosa Mountains. The river mouth, on the Pacific Ocean, is in northern Oceanside. The San Luis Rey River bike path runs along it for its last 9 miles (14 km). The river is over 69 miles (111 km) long and drains 562 square miles (1,460 km2). There is little water in the river during most of the year, but it can have very large flows during winter storms.

The Oceanside City Hall and Fire Station, also known as Oceanside Civic Center, at 704 and 714 Third St. in Oceanside, California, was built in 1929. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It consists of two buildings, a single-story L-shaped city hall and a two-story fire station with a 50 feet (15 m) tower, which are visually linked by a retaining wall.The buildings were designed by architect Irving J. Gill in 1929 as part of a larger civic complex which was not completed.The listing included one contributing object.

The Top Gun House, formerly known as the Graves House, is a historic landmark in Oceanside, California known for being the location in a scene in the 1986 action drama film Top Gun, starring Tom Cruise. It was built in 1888 and utilizes Folk Victorian styles, being one of the earliest surviving examples of it in San Diego County. As of 2023, it is in possession of the Mission Pacific Hotel and contains a pie shop.

The Junior Seau Pier Amphitheatre is a public entertainment and recreation complex located at the foot of the Oceanside Pier in Oceanside, California. Formerly known as the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater, also known as Oceanside Bandshell, the complex was renamed in 2012 posthumously in honor of football player Junior Seau. Seau was a hometown hero to Oceanside and especially its Samoan Community.

The Santa Margarita River which with the addition of what is now Temecula Creek, was formerly known as the Temecula River, is a short intermittent river on the Pacific coast of southern California in the United States, approximately 30.9 miles (49.7 km) long. One of the last free-flowing rivers in southern California, it drains an arid region at the southern end of the Santa Ana Mountains, in the Peninsular Ranges between Los Angeles and San Diego.

Oceanside High School is an American public secondary school located in Oceanside, California. It is part of the Oceanside Unified School District.

The Oceanside Pier, located in Oceanside, in northern San Diego County, California, is the longest wooden pier on the western United States coastline at 1,954 feet (596 m).

The Americanization School in Oceanside, California, built in 1931, was intended as an assimilation school where Spanish-speaking Oceanside residents would be taught English and civics. Historically, it reflects a time before the rise of multiculturalism where immigrants who arrived in the United States were more actively Americanized in assimilation programs.The building, now known as the Crown Heights Resource Center, was designed by Irving Gill. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The school was one of the last works by Gill, a pioneer of modern architecture and one of nearby San Diego's most celebrated architects.
