Valor Christian College is a private Bible college associated with World Harvest Church and located in Columbus, Ohio. It is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education to grant certificates and degrees at the bachelor and associate degree levels. It is also authorized by the Ohio Department of Higher Education to offer bachelor of arts and associate of applied science degrees and diplomas in Bible and ministry-related studies.

On April 20, 2021, Ma'Khia Bryant, a 16-year-old girl, was fatally shot by police officer Nicholas Reardon in southeast Columbus, Ohio. Released body camera and security camera footage show Bryant brandishing a knife and charging two women consecutively, leading up to the moment Officer Reardon fired four shots; Bryant was struck at least once. Bryant immediately collapsed and was unresponsive. Reardon and other officers on the scene administered first aid, and she was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead. Reactions from the public included both support of the actions of the officer and protests against the killing. The case was investigated by state authorities and then referred to local authorities. The case went to a grand jury and on March 11, 2022, it declined to charge Reardon. Her shooting, which prevented her from stabbing another girl, was later deemed a justifiable homicide.

Brice is a village in Franklin County, Ohio, United States, on the southeast side of the Columbus metropolitan area. The population was 93 at the 2020 census. The majority of the village's revenues in 2019 and 2020 were in fines collected with traffic enforcement cameras. Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber characterized the village as a "speed trap" with "no other reason for it to exist." The speed camera program was suspended in 2021.

Pickerington Ponds Metro Park is a metropolitan park in Pickerington and Columbus, Ohio, owned and operated by Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks. The park has 1,608 acres (651 ha) with several trails and five overlooks for bird and other wildlife watching. It is a State Nature Preserve, primarily focused on providing a habitat for various birds and contains many wetland areas. Pickerington Ponds is designated an Important Bird Area by Audubon Ohio. More than 260 species of birds have been seen here. The park is designated as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by The Audubon Society.
