Inglenook is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of New Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is in the northeast part of the town, atop a broad peninsula in Candlewood Lake. It is bordered to the east by Sail Harbor and to the north by the town of Sherman. Inglenook was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

Squantz Pond is a 288-acre lake in Fairfield County, Connecticut. It is located on the town line of Sherman and New Fairfield, and is bordered by manmade Candlewood Lake. The south shore is protected as Squantz Pond State Park (established in 1926), and is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The pond is named for Chief Squantz, a leader of the Schaghticoke tribe.

It is in the southwest corner of the town, on a peninsula of the same name on the east side of Candlewood Lake. It is bordered to the south by Candlewood Lake Club. Pootatuck State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located mainly in the town of New Fairfield with a small fraction in Sherman. Recreational activities include hiking, mountain biking, letterboxing, hunting, birdwatching, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. The main forest property borders on and can be accessed via trails from the adjacent Squantz Pond State Park.There are two smaller Pootatuck State Forest property parcels in New Fairfield, Connecticut near to but disconnected from the main property and Squantz Pond State Park. It is in the southern part of the town, on the western shore of Candlewood Lake. It is bordered to the north by the main village of Sherman. Lakeside Woods was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

Candlewood Lake is a manmade lake located in Fairfield and Litchfield counties of Western Connecticut, in the northeastern United States. At 8.4 square miles (22 km2), it is the largest lake in Connecticut and the largest lake within a 60 mile radius of New York City. The lake is bordered by five towns: Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, and Sherman.

New Milford High School is a four-year, public, coeducational high school in New Milford, Connecticut. Currently, approximately 1,600 students attend the school. It is in the northwest corner of Brookfield and the southwest corner of New Milford, on the east shore of Candlewood Lake. It is bordered to the south by Candlewood Shores, to the north by Chimney Point, and to the west by the town of New Fairfield. The community also consists of a private country club complete with a marina, a 9-hole golf course, a clubhouse, tennis facilities, and recreational fields.
