Wangumbaug Lake

Underwood Island is a small lake island in Wangumbaug Lake in Coventry, Connecticut. It is about two acres in size,and is privately owned. The island has a pond on it, and was named for both its condition and the legend that it was visited by the owner of Underwood Typewriter Co. and his wife. It is 100 yards from the coast of the lake. Strangely, it is claimed to be the only island on the lake, despite there being a larger, unnamed island at 41°46′13.7″N 72°18′59.5″W, and a small islet nearby.

Coventry Lake is a village and census-designated place in the town of Coventry, Connecticut in Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 2,990 at the 2010 census. The CDP includes the residential areas around Wangumbaug Lake.

The Elias Sprague House is a historic house at 2187 South Street in Coventry, Connecticut. Built in 1921, it is a well-preserved example of a vernacular early 19th-century Connecticut home. Now privately owned, the house for a time housed the local historical society. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, and was also known as Dacon Richard Hale House. Connecticut Landmarks operates the house as a late 18th-century historic house museum. As of 2011 they were working with the attorney general's office on an investigation into their alleged neglect of some of their sites and artifacts.

The Captain Nathan Hale Monument, is a 45-foot (14 m) obelisk in Coventry, Connecticut, built in 1846 in honor of Nathan Hale, the Revolutionary War hero, who was born in Coventry. It was one of the first war memorials to be built in the United States, and is a significant work of both architect Henry Austin and builder Solomon Willard. Now owned and maintained by the state, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Nathan Hale State Forest is a Connecticut state forest encompassing 1,455 acres (589 ha) in the towns of Coventry and Andover. The forest is managed to sustain a reliable source of forest products and renewable habitat for wildlife. The forest originated in 1946 through the bequest of George Dudley Seymour, which allowed the state to purchase 850 acres in the surrounds of the historic Nathan Hale Homestead. In addition to cultivated plantations, the forest includes a 200-acre natural area that is kept without management activity. A 57-acre (23 ha) parcel, Creaser Park, is leased to the Town of Coventry for recreational use. The park offers hiking trails, fishing, and a dog-friendly area. Recreational usage in the rest of the forest includes hiking, hunting and letterboxing.

South Coventry is a census-designated place and part of the town of Coventry, Connecticut in Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 1,483 at the 2010 census.

The South Coventry Historic District is a historic district encompassing the historic village center of South Coventry in the town of Coventry, Connecticut. The village, settled in the early 18th century, has served as Coventry's civic center, and also served as an economic center, with textile mills operating in the 19th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Strong House, now the Strong-Porter Museum, is a historic house museum at 2382 South Street in Coventry, Connecticut. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a center entry and two interior chimneys. The oldest portion of the house is estimated to date to 1710, early in the period of Coventry's settlement, and retains a significant number of period features. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is now owned and operated by the Coventry Historical Society as a museum. In addition to exhibits in the house about local history, visitors can tour the carpenter shop, 19th century privy, carriage sheds and barn.

Brigham's Tavern is a historic house and traveller's accommodation at 12 Boston Turnpike in Coventry, Connecticut. With a construction history dating to the early 18th century, it is one of the town's oldest buildings, and is historically associated with George Washington, who stopped here for a meal in 1789. Now a private residence, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
