Sanford School

Brackenville is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. Brackenville is located at the intersection of Brackenville Road and Old Wilmington Road, east of Hockessin.In 1809, William Brackend bought land along the road running from Wilmington to Lancaster. With the opening of the Wilmington Turnpike (Lancaster Pike) in 1818, he opened a hotel named the "Peace and Plenty". The hotel stood on the northwest corner of Old Lancaster Pike and Brackenville Road; it was demolished before 1937.

Wilmington Christian School (WCS) is a private, non-denominational college preparatory Christian school. Founded in 1946 in the city of Wilmington, Delaware, it has since consolidated its elementary and secondary schools to a 15-acre (61,000 m2) campus in the suburban Hockessin area and enrolls over 400 students in Pre-K2 through 12th grade. WCS is a parent-based corporation represented by nearly 100 local churches in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, with oversight provided by an elected Board of Directors. They list as their mission to provide "a Christ-centered, challenging academic program with instruction based on the Biblical view of God and the world," and encourage students to integrate biblical truth into their daily life and to impact the culture for Jesus Christ. WCS is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and a member of the Mid-Atlantic Christian School Association (MACSA), and the Delaware Association of Independent Schools. WCS competes in the Independent Conference for interscholastic sports.

Loveville was an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States.Loveville, a village in the northern part of the Mill Creek Hundred, was the site of a post office, two hotels, shops, a sawmill, and a historically significant mill likely used on the Underground Railroad. Two Delaware historical figures, the Reverend Thomas Love and Thomas Worrell, lived in Loveville. The loss of the Loveville post office followed a decline in the community, and the site is no longer marked on many maps.

The A. Armstrong Farm was a historic farm located at Hockessin, New Castle County, Delaware. The property included two contributing buildings. They were a log house with a stone addition added in the 1830s, and a frame tri-level stone and frame barn (c. 1830s). The stuccoed log section was three bays wide, and it had a two-story, two bay stone wing. The farm house and barn were demolished before 2002. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Coffee Run Mission Site, also known as Coffee Run Church and St. Mary's Church, is a historic mission church site and national historic district located at Hockessin, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses two contributing buildings, both now demolished, and one contributing site. They were the Father Kenney House and stone barn with frame addition. The house was built in 1812, and was a two-story, three bay stone dwelling with a cross-gable roof. The Coffee Run cemetery is the burial ground of the first Catholic church in Delaware. It measures approximately 66 feet by 183 feet and includes over 50 carved headstones and 12 uncut stone markers. Located at the cemetery is a small cinder block building, which contains an altar, and stands at the site of the original log mission church built about 1790. It was the first Catholic church in Delaware out of which grew the present Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington. The house was demolished in March 2010 following an arson. The barn, also affected by arson, remained mostly intact but in a decaying condition. Trinity Community Church planned to restore it and incorporate it into a new church on the site, but discovered that the mortar was no longer sound. The barn was demolished in 2016 and the stone saved for reuse in the facade of the new church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Thomas McKean High School is a comprehensive public high school located on 301 McKennan's Church Road in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, with a Wilmington postal address. It is a part of the Red Clay Consolidated School District. The school opened in December 1966, and its first class graduated in June 1967. McKean serves, in addition to portions of Wilmington, Elsmere, and portions of Pike Creek and Hockessin. A sliver of Pike Creek Valley coincides with the McKean zone.

The Hindu Temple of Delaware is a Hindu temple in Hockessin, Delaware. Inaugurated in 2002, it is the first Hindu temple constructed in Delaware. According to The News Journal, the temple has become "a social and cultural gathering place" for Indian Americans in New Castle County.The temple's main deity is Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Hockessin Friends Meetinghouse is a historic Quaker meeting house and national historic district located at 1501 Old Wilmington Road in Hockessin, New Castle County, in the U.S. state of Delaware. The district encompasses three contributing buildings and one contributing site. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

J. Lindsay Barn is a historic barn located near Newark, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built around 1820, and is a large, bi-level stone building with fieldstone walls accented by round-arched doorways and windows. It features large rectangular and square quoins and two gable cupolas atop the gable roof. Also on the property is a 19th-century stone outbuilding.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Hockessin () is a census-designated place (CDP) in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The population was 13,527 at the 2010 census.

Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, also known as McKennan's Church, is a historic Presbyterian church located at Mill Creek and McKennan's Church Roads near Newark, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1853, and is a two-story, stuccoed stone structure. It was originally rectangular in plan, but additions have given it an irregular cruciform shape. It features a colonnaded porch in the Greek Revival style with a fanlight and an enclosed vestibule. The south wall incorporates a date stone from the original church building, marked "WM 1761".It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

J. McCormack Farm was a historic farm located near Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. The property included four contributing buildings. They were a stone house (c. 1830), a stone and frame bank barn (c. 1830), storage building, and corn crib. The house was a two-story, gable-roofed, stuccoed stone structure with a two-story rear wing. The barn walls were of semi-coursed fieldstone finished with a pebbled stucco.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and demolished between 1992 and 2002. J. McCormack Farm has since been demolished.
