Arquà Polesine (Italian pronunciation: [arˈkwa ppoˈleːzine]; Venetian: Arquà Połesine) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rovigo in the Italian region Veneto, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southwest of Venice and about 7 kilometres (4 mi) southwest of Rovigo. Arquà Polesine borders the following municipalities: Bosaro, Costa di Rovigo, Frassinelle Polesine, Polesella, Rovigo, Villamarzana. Sights include the castle, built in 1146 by Guglielmo III degli Adelardi Marcheselli, lord of Ferrara, and the parish church (rebuilt around 1516).

The Battle of Polesella, fought on 22 December 1509, by forces of the Duchy of Ferrara and the Republic of Venice, was a naval battle on the River Po in the War of the League of Cambrai in the Italian Wars. It was an overwhelming victory for Ferrara.

Grignano Polesine is a frazione of Rovigo with 3,000 inhabitants. It is approximately 8 km south of the town centre. With the name of Grignano di Polesine, assumed in 1867 after the precedent Grignano, it became an autonomous comune until 1927, when it became a frazione of Rovigo together with Boara Polesine, Borsea, Buso, Concadirame and Sant'Apollinare con Selva. The number of inhabitants, according to the past censi, was of 2,491 in 1871, 2,734 in 1881, 2,642 in 1901, 2,949 in 1911 and 3,186 in 1921.

Frassinelle Polesine is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rovigo in the Italian region Veneto, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southwest of Venice and about 10 kilometres (6 mi) southwest of Rovigo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,559 and an area of 21.9 square kilometres (8.5 sq mi).The municipality of Frassinelle Polesine contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Caporumiatti, Casotti, Chiesa, Crociara, Le Cornere, Passo di Villamarzana, and Viezze. The province of Rovigo (Italian: provincia di Rovigo) is a province in the Veneto region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Rovigo. It borders on the north with the provinces of Verona, Padua and Venice, on the south with the province of Ferrara, on the west with the province of Mantua, and on the east with the Adriatic Sea.

Rovigo railway station (Italian: Stazione di Rovigo) serves the town and comune of Rovigo, in the Veneto region, northeastern Italy. Opened in 1866, the station forms part of the Padua–Bologna railway, a double track electrified line. Rovigo is also a junction station for two other lines. Heading eastwards, towards Adria and Chioggia, is the Rovigo–Chioggia railway, a single track non-electrified line, and heading west, towards Legnago and Verona, is the Verona–Legnago–Rovigo railway, also single track and non-electrified. The station is currently owned by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). The commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Main line train services to and from the station are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. Regional trains on the two branch lines are operated by a consortium of Trenitalia and Sistemi Territoriali, a public company controlled by the region of Veneto.
