Elagh More (from Irish: Aileach Mór, meaning 'stony place') is a townland in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland and lies between Ballynagalliagh and the border with County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland, on the outskirts of Derry. It is within Derry City and Strabane district. Elagh More is referred to in Annals of the Four Masters as "tighearna Ailigh do mharbhadh la hUa mBreasail". In the Irish patent rolls of James I, the townland is referred to as Allaghderrie. Later in the century, the manor of Elagh was held by the Benson family, who also founded the town of Stranorlar in County Donegal.

Ballynagalliagh (Irish: Baile na gCailleach, meaning 'townland of the nuns') is a townland in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies within Derry and Strabane district. Upper and Lower Galliagh form the townland of Ballynagalliagh in western County Londonderry. Upper Galliagh borders the townland of Elagh More which lies directly upon the border with County Donegal, between the Buncrana Road and Ballyarnett. Lower Galliagh is a buffer between Upper Galliagh and the outer urban edge of Derry and the townland of Shantallow. The boundary of lower Galliagh is the burn which runs behind the White Chapel at Galliagh estate. The townland has been zoned for large scale housing and commercial development in the Derry Area Plan 2011. The completion of the Skeoge Link in 2008 has allowed for some 3,000 new homes to be built in the area.

Bridgend or Bridge End (Irish: Ceann an Droichid) is a village in County Donegal, Ireland, at the base of the Inishowen peninsula. It is located on the road to Letterkenny, on the western outskirts of Derry and near the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Steelstown Brian Óg's GAC (Irish: CLG Bhriain Óig Baile Stíl) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Derry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of the Derry GAA and currently cater for Gaelic football and Ladies' Gaelic football. The club's catchment area includes Steelstown and the wider Shantallow area at the edge of the city. Steelstown are one of the most successful Gaelic teams in the Cityside of Derry, with most of the county's footballers coming from rural areas. Underage teams up to U-12's play in North Derry GAA league and championships; from U-14 upwards teams compete in All-Derry competitions. The club play their home games at Páirc Bríd.

Doire Colmcille CLG is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Derry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of Derry GAA and currently caters for Gaelic football and Ladies' Gaelic football with a strong focus on youth development. Doire Colmcille have won the Derry Junior Football Championship title once. Underage teams up to U-12's play in North Derry North Derry league and championships, from U-14 upwards teams compete in All-Derry competitions.

Na Magha CLG is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Derry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of the Derry GAA and caters for camogie and hurling teams from U5 (Campa Éamoin)to senior level. They are the only hurling and camogie teams in Derry City.

Foyle is a constituency in Northern Ireland covering Derry, represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. Its current Member of Parliament (MP) has been Colum Eastwood of the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) since 2019.

St Cecilia's College is a secondary school located in Derry, Northern Ireland. It is a Catholic-maintained girls' school with an enrolment of 947 pupils aged 11–18 and is located in the Creggan area of Derry. It has 60 teaching staff. The college decanted to the Northland Road to facilitate the construction of a new building which opened for the start of term in September 2010. It was within the former Western Education and Library Board area. In March 2001 a programme for the extension and refurbishment of the college was announced under public-private partnership arrangements. In March 2006 it was announced that the College would be granted specialist arts college status from September 2006.St Cecilia's College new campus was built on the site of the original college on Bligh's Lane, Creggan. St Cecilia's new sports pavilion and playing fields were built on the grounds of St Mary's old site in Creggan.

The Derry Journal is a newspaper based in Derry, Northern Ireland, serving Derry as well as County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland. It is operated by a Johnston Press holding company entitled Derry Journal Newspapers. The paper is published on Tuesday and Friday and is a sister paper of the Sunday Journal, the only local newspaper published in Ireland on a Sunday. It is the second oldest newspaper still in existence in Ireland.

BBC Radio Foyle (Irish: BBC Raidió Feabhail) is a BBC Northern Ireland local radio station, serving County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. It is named after the River Foyle which flows through Derry, the city where the station is based. The station broadcasts from BBC's Northland Road studios on 93.1 FM in Derry. It was available on 792 kHz MW until 6 May 2021. There is also a small television studio based there used for interviews with the interviewee sitting in front of a CSO screen which normally has a live view of Derry. Since it broadcasts from a point close to the border between County Londonderry and County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland, it includes some coverage of the latter county. It is an opt-out from BBC Radio's main Northern Ireland service, BBC Radio Ulster. BBC Radio Foyle's weekday schedule begins at 7:00am and continues until 4:00pm.
