Foyle is a constituency in Northern Ireland covering Derry, represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. Its current Member of Parliament (MP) has been Colum Eastwood of the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) since 2019.

Inishowen West (Irish: Inis Eoghain Thiar), also called West Inishowen or Innishowen West, is a barony in County Donegal, Ireland. Baronies were mainly cadastral rather than administrative units. They acquired modest local taxation and spending functions in the 19th century before being superseded by the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898.

Elagh More (from Irish: Aileach Mór, meaning 'stony place') is a townland in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland and lies between Ballynagalliagh and the border with County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland, on the outskirts of Derry. It is within Derry City and Strabane district. Elagh More is referred to in Annals of the Four Masters as "tighearna Ailigh do mharbhadh la hUa mBreasail". In the Irish patent rolls of James I, the townland is referred to as Allaghderrie. Later in the century, the manor of Elagh was held by the Benson family, who also founded the town of Stranorlar in County Donegal.

Ballynagalliagh (Irish: Baile na gCailleach, meaning 'townland of the nuns') is a townland in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies within Derry and Strabane district. Upper and Lower Galliagh form the townland of Ballynagalliagh in western County Londonderry. Upper Galliagh borders the townland of Elagh More which lies directly upon the border with County Donegal, between the Buncrana Road and Ballyarnett. Lower Galliagh is a buffer between Upper Galliagh and the outer urban edge of Derry and the townland of Shantallow. The boundary of lower Galliagh is the burn which runs behind the White Chapel at Galliagh estate. The townland has been zoned for large scale housing and commercial development in the Derry Area Plan 2011. The completion of the Skeoge Link in 2008 has allowed for some 3,000 new homes to be built in the area.

The Holywell Hill transmission site is located on a 260 metre hill near Killea in County Donegal, Ireland, and is owned and operated by 2RN (formerly RTÉ NL).

The Grianan of Aileach ( GREE-nən əv AL-yə(kh); Irish: Grianán Ailigh [ˌɟɾʲiənˠaːnˠ ˈalʲiː]), sometimes anglicised as Greenan Ely or Greenan Fort, is a hillfort atop the 244 metres (801 ft) high Greenan Mountain at Inishowen in County Donegal, Ireland. The main structure is a stone ringfort, thought to have been built by the Northern Uí Néill, in the sixth or seventh century CE; although there is evidence that the site had been in use before the fort was built. It has been identified as the seat of the Kingdom of Ailech and one of the royal sites of Gaelic Ireland. The wall is about 4.5 metres (15 ft) thick and 5 metres (16 ft) high. Inside it has three terraces, which are linked by steps, and two long passages within it. Originally, there would have been buildings inside the ringfort. Just outside it are the remains of a well and a tumulus. By the 12th century, the Kingdom of Ailech had become embattled and lost a fair amount of territory to the invading Normans. According to Irish literature, the ringfort was mostly destroyed by Muirchertach Ua Briain, King of Munster, in 1101. Substantial restoration work was carried out in 1870. Today, the site is protected as a national monument and is a tourist attraction.

Doire Colmcille CLG is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Derry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of Derry GAA and currently caters for Gaelic football and Ladies' Gaelic football with a strong focus on youth development. Doire Colmcille have won the Derry Junior Football Championship title once. Underage teams up to U-12's play in North Derry North Derry league and championships, from U-14 upwards teams compete in All-Derry competitions.

Seán Dolan's GAC (Irish: CLG Seán Ó Dubhláin) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Derry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of the Derry GAA and currently cater for Gaelic football and Ladies' Gaelic football. Underage teams up to Under-12's play in North Derry league and championships, from Under-14 upwards teams compete in All-Derry competitions.

Creggan (Irish: An Creagán; meaning stony place) is a large housing estate in Derry, Northern Ireland, on a hill not far from the river Foyle. The estate is very close to the border with County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.

St. Mary's College, opened in 1959, is an all-girls Catholic-maintained secondary school and Specialist Science School located in Derry, Northern Ireland. It attracts pupils from a wide catchment area, with an enrolment of nearly one thousand pupils aged 11–18 and a staff of 92. The school was formerly situated in the heart of Creggan, but moved to a newly built campus on the Northland Road. St Cecilia's College moved to a newly built campus on the grounds of where St. Marys was formerly based in Creggan.

St Joseph's Boys' School is a secondary school in Westway in the Creggan area of Derry, Northern Ireland. It is a voluntary maintained school, supported by the Western Education and Library Board and operated by boards of trustees and governors in collaboration with Northern Ireland's Council for Catholic Maintained Schools and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Derry. Since the school opened in September 1963, St Joseph's Secondary School (as it was known as then) has gone through tremendous changes. The old school was demolished and a new ultra modern school was opened and they changed the name to St. Joseph's Boys' School in March 2003. The principal of the school was Mr P. Hannaway with the Vice Principals being Mr . K. McCallion and Mr. P. Kealey. Hannaway resigned and Mr P. Kealey temporarily stood in until Damian Harkin was appointed as Principal. As of 2023, the principal is Mrs Ciara Deane, the third female to serve as the school Principal after the resignation of Martina McCarron who served as Principal from 2018-2022. St. Joseph's Boys' School offers a variety of subjects ranging from English, Maths, Geography and Leisure and Tourism to Technology and Design, Art and Physical Education (P.E). St Joseph's is also equipped with a number of modern computer suites, a modern gym and two specialist units. The Suspension Unit serves students who have been internally suspended, and Education plus, a unit which was set up in 2003, serves students with statements of special educational needs.In 2006, English football goalkeeper, Gordon Banks paid a visit to the school. He delivered a speech and launched Don Mullan's new book, A Hero Who Could Fly. In January 2007, the school set up a healthy eating programme which banned fizzy drinks and only water would be allowed. Water bottles marked with the initials "STJ" were provided, however the school has since banned water bottles.

Derry City Council (Irish: Comhairle Cathrach Dhoire; Ulster-Scots: Derry Cittie Cooncil) was the local government authority for the city of Derry in Northern Ireland. It merged with Strabane District Council in April 2015 under local government reorganisation to become Derry and Strabane District Council. The council provided services to nearly 108,000 people, making it the third-largest of the then 26 district councils in Northern Ireland by population. The council was made up of 30 councillors, elected every four years from five electoral areas and held its meetings in The Guildhall. The mayor for the final 2014–2015 term was Brenda Stevenson of the Social Democratic and Labour Party, with Gary Middleton of the Democratic Unionist Party serving as deputy mayor.
