Menora is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Stirling. In 1954, with the establishment of official suburban boundaries, the new offshoot from Mount Lawley was named Menora in honour of an old theatre of that name which was located within its borders. Further support for the name was provided by the local Jewish community for whom the Menorah holds special significance. From an aerial point of view, a section of the roads are shaped like the Menorah. Menora is home to a large Jewish community (8.1%), the heart of which is the Perth Hebrew Congregation. It is close to the Carmel Jewish School and other Kosher facilities like the Kosher Food Centre in Menora and the Kosher Besh Fresh cafe. The median weekly family income from the 2016 census data in Menora (State Suburbs) was $2,493 (as compared with $1,910 for the whole of Western Australia and $1,734 for the whole of Australia). Of occupied private dwellings in Menora, 38.9% were owned outright, 23.2% were owned with a mortgage and 14.9% were rented. Of all households, 60.8% were family households, 37.5% were single person households and 1.7% were group households. In the 2016 census, Menora had a median age of 53 (as compared with 38 for Australia), children aged 0–14 years made up 13.8% and 37.6% of its population were over 65 years of age. This is likely attributable to a high concentration of retirement villages in the district.

The Perth Hebrew Congregation (often shortened as the PHC) is synagogue located in the Perth suburb of Menora, Western Australia. Established as an organization in 1892, it is the oldest of three shuls and one temple serving the Jewish community in Perth. The synagogue includes a child care - namely Ruth Landau Harp Early Learning offering education to children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years, educating children on the Jewish calendar of events and Jewish values, with all meals being kosher. The synagogue offers facilities for daily services, educational programmes, PHC also houses a library, a mikveh and a bookshop. In July 2004, the shul was heavily defaced with anti-Semitic vandalism.

St Denis Church is a Roman Catholic church in the Perth suburb of Joondanna, Western Australia. The building was designed by Ernest Rossen and Iris Rossen, and is inspired by the Chapel du Ronchamp. It was built in 1967 and consecrated in 1968.The church has a pipe organ. The instrument was originally built in 1957 for the chapel at St John of God Subiaco Hospital. That chapel was demolished in 1994 and the organ was removed and rebuilt at St Denis. It was damaged during a severe storm in 2010, but subsequently repaired.In 2010/11 a five-year plan to renovate the church building commenced: The crying room was converted to a gathering space. A new sound system was installed, including hearing units for those hard-of-hearing. Indoor toilets were installed. Reverse-cycle air-conditioning was installed. Solar panels were installed on the roof of the church and presbytery.In 2014 the tabernacle was moved from its original location on the side of the sanctuary to directly behind the altar.In 2017 a memorial garden was built on the west side, between the church and the presbytery.

This is a higher median income in all categories than Australia as a whole ($724, $1,910 and $1,595 respectively).

The Planet Nightclub was an important live music venue in Perth, Western Australia. The venue's heyday was in the mid-late 1990s before closing down and reopening as "The Dollhouse" strip club.

WAAPA (commonly pronounced "whopp-a") operates as a part of ECU, located at the ECU campus in Mount Lawley, a suburb in Perth, Western Australia. Professor David Shirley is the Executive Dean of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), at Edith Cowan University. Previously, holding posts as the Director of the Manchester School of Theatre and the Head of the School of Theatre at Rose Bruford College in Kent.

Carmel School is a private Modern Orthodox Zionist Jewish school founded in 1959 in Perth, Western Australia. It offers Jewish religious and cultural education as well as conventional secular education for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 through a full-time primary school and a high school. It is the only Jewish day school in Western Australia.Notable students include singer Troye Sivan and his brother and musician Tyde Levi.

It is located at 163–173 Wordsworth Avenue, Yokine, Western Australia, which is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The temple serves approximately 12,000 members in the area.

Mount Hawthorn is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Vincent. The Mount Hawthorn area was first selected for urban development in 1887. In the late 1890s part of it was purchased by a syndicate of Edward Wittenoom, a politician and pastoralist; James Hicks and C. L. W. Clifton. When this group subdivided their land in 1903, Hicks called his portion of the subdivision Hawthorn Estate, as he had recently been in Melbourne and stayed at Hawthorn.

Mount Lawley Senior High School is a public co-educational high day school in the City of Stirling, located in Mount Lawley, a northern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The school consists of a middle school for Year 7 and 8 students and a senior school for Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students.
