Norval is an unincorporated community in the town of Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada, within the Regional Municipality of Halton. Situated on the Credit River at the intersection of Highway 7 and Winston Churchill Boulevard (locally named Adamson Street), it is located immediately east of Georgetown and approximately 3 km (1.9 mi) west of the current urban boundary of Brampton. Norval is believed to take its name from the Scottish play Douglas by poet John Home.

Since opening the Mount Pleasant GO Station in 2006, the area has experienced rapid suburban growth. Along with the Mount Pleasant GO Station retail amenities have opened in the area. The public library has opened up both floors and the library building is a reconstructed historic CPR station structure used as a cultural facility in the Mount Pleasant Civic Square shared with the Peel District School Board and the library. The school connected to the library is Mount Pleasant Village Public School and offers grades K-8.

Being the first Premium Outlet Center in Canada, and the first conglomeration of stores of its type in that nation, the facility opened on Thursday, August 1, 2013. It is anchored by Saks Off 5th and Restoration Hardware. The mall has 800,000 square feet (74,322 square meters) of shopping including the first ever Hudson's Bay Discount Store, which was replaced by Saks Off Fifth.Phase 2 of the construction began in 2017 and was completed on November 15, 2018.

The studios are in the Canadian Broadcasting Centre on Front Street West in Downtown Toronto. CJBC is a Class A station. It runs at 50,000 watts, the maximum power for Canadian AM stations. It uses a non-directional antenna. The transmitter is on Auburn Road in Milton near Ontario Highway 401. CJBC programming is heard on five rebroadcasters around Southern Ontario.

CHLO (530 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Brampton, Ontario, serving Greater Toronto. It is owned by Evanov Communications and broadcasts a multilingual format. Most programming is Punjabi with other languages of South Asia. Some Italian, German, Croatian, Tagalog, Bulgarian, and Spanish language shows are heard on weekends. CHLO's radio studios and offices are on Dundas Street West in the Eatonville neighbourhood of Toronto. By day, CHLO transmits with 1,000 watts non-directional; due to restrictions placed on the frequency by international treaty, it reduces power at night to 250 watts. The transmitter is on Sixth Line in Halton Hills. CHLO is one of only a few commercial radio stations in North America broadcasting on 530 AM.

Brampton West (French: Brampton-Ouest) is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. Its population was 170,422 in 2006- making it the most populous riding in Canada.The district includes the western part of the city of Brampton excluding the neighbourhood of Madoc. The electoral district was created in 2003: 72.8% of the population of the riding came from Brampton West—Mississauga, and 27.2% from Brampton Centre. As a result of the 2012 electoral redistribution, this riding lost just over half of its territory, mostly to Brampton South, with portions going to Brampton North. The Toronto Real Estate Board labels this section as "W24" in their studies.People of Jamaican ethnic origin make up 13.0% of the riding's population, the highest such percentage in Canada.

It was created for the 2007 provincial election. 72.8% of the district was created from Brampton West—Mississauga while 27.2% was carved from Brampton Centre. The riding includes that part of Brampton west of a line following Hurontario Street to Vodden Street to Kennedy Road.

Lisgar is a residential neighbourhood in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the extreme northwestern corner of the city, bordering the larger Meadowvale neighbourhood to the east and Churchill Meadows to the south.

Lisgar GO Station is a railway station on GO Transit's Milton line in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It opened for service on September 4, 2007. The station is located at Argentia Road and Tenth Line, near the interchange of Highway 401, and Highway 407. It is named after the Lisgar neighbourhood in which it is located, which is itself named after Lord Lisgar, second Governor General of Canada from 1869–1872. The station was built to alleviate the congested Meadowvale GO Station, and to provide better service for the local community. The station provides parking spaces for 788 vehicles. Construction began on new canopies, walkways and shelters in August 2014 and was completed in early 2015.In spring 2009, a 50 kW wind turbine was constructed at the station and was expected to supply up to 80% of the station's power. Taking advantage of the heavy prevailing winds from the west, the turbine is the first application of on-site wind generation for a North American transit system. However, after four years, the turbine was only producing 9% of its projected output.
