As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,516 and an area of 16.1 km2 (6 sq mi).Torrazza Coste borders the following municipalities: Borgo Priolo, Codevilla, Montebello della Battaglia, Retorbido, Rocca Susella.

The Staffora is a river of the Oltrepò Pavese in the Province of Pavia, north-west Italy and a right-side tributary of the Po. It is probably the river known to the Romans as the Iria.

Voghera railway station (Italian: Stazione di Voghera) serves the town and comune of Voghera, in the region of Lombardy, northern Italy. Opened in 1858, it forms part of the Alessandria–Piacenza railway, and is also the terminus of a railway from Milan via Pavia. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. Due to its strategic position, the station is an important trading node, and one of the major railway stations in Italy's north-west.

The Voghera train crash is considered one of the most serious incidents in the history of the Italian railways. It happened at track three of Voghera railway station, on the night of 31 May 1962. Sixty-four people lost their lives, and 40 were seriously injured.

It is the third most populated town in the province, after Pavia and Vigevano. It is located 30 km south-southwest of that city, on the Staffora (a tributary of the Po). It is the main town of Oltrepò Pavese and is an important rail and road hub as well as a renowned wine producer.

Montebello della Battaglia is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pavia in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 50 km south of Milan and about 20 km south of Pavia. Montebello della Battaglia borders the following municipalities: Borgo Priolo, Casteggio, Codevilla, Lungavilla, Torrazza Coste, Verretto, Voghera. It is famous for two battles: in that of 1800 the French army under Jean Lannes defeated an Austrian army. That of 1859, part of the Austro-Sardinian War, was a victory of the armies of France and Savoy, again over the Austrians.
