Masciago Primo

Monte Scerrè, also known as Scerè, is a mountain of Lombardy, Italy, with an elevation of 796 metres (2,612 ft). It is located in the Varese Prealps, in the Province of Varese. It lies in the territory of the municipalities of Cunardo, Valganna and Bedero Valcuvia, with the hamlet of Mondonico situated about one hundred meters below the peak. Along with nearby Monte Mondonico, it divides the Valcuvia from the Valganna. The source of the Bevera, a small stream that flows into the Olona after eight kilometres, is located on Monte Scerrè. A chapel to the Madonna degli Alpini (Our Lady of the Alpini) and trenches and machine-gun posts of the Cadorna Line are located on the mountain.

The Italian tenor Aldo Bertocci lived in the town from 1974 until his death in 2004.

In terms of industry, the Torcitura di Rancio, a textile transformation industry, was formed as a joint venture between Montefibre, interested in the transformation of its yarns, and the Ratti group, interested in textile machinery aspects. The former twisting plant was then acquired by the Cumdi company of Germignaga.

Monte Castelvecchio is a mountain in Lombardy, Italy, with an elevation of 623 metres (2,044 ft). It is located in the Varese Prealps, in the Province of Varese, in the municipality of Cunardo. Due to its commanding position over the Valcuvia and Val Marchirolo, Monte Castelvecchio has been fortified since the Early Middle Ages. In 900 Liutprand, King of the Lombards, built a fort (later a castle) atop the mountain, which later came under the control of the House of Visconti; the castle, from which the mountain derives its current name (Castelvecchio meaning "old castle"), was burned in 1164, 1447 and 1517. In the 18th century, the ruins were dismantled and the material used to build Cunardo's parish church.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,318 and an area of 4.9 square kilometres (1.9 sq mi).The municipality of Mesenzana contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Malpensata, Molino d'Anna, Pezza, Maro, Cà Bianca nuova, Pianazzo, Piatta, Alpe Cavoglio, Gesiola del monte San Martino, and Le Cascine. Mesenzana borders the following municipalities: Brissago-Valtravaglia, Cassano Valcuvia, Duno, Grantola, Montegrino Valtravaglia.
