Woodlawn High School (formerly Prince Andrew High School) is a Canadian public school, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It is operated by the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) (formerly the Halifax Regional School Board) and is an International Baccalaureate (IB) world school, offering the Diploma program. It also offers the O2 program (options and opportunities). Currently 796 students attend, and graduating classes consist of approximately 250-300 students. The school was opened in 1960 and has gone through numerous renovations throughout the years, and also a second gymnasium was added in renovations. Additionally, upgrades to the cafeteria has given it a more modern design.

Caledonia Junior High School is a Canadian public school in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It is operated by the Halifax Regional School Board (HRSB). Caledonia Junior High offers the grade 7 late entry French immersion program. After grade 9 students will continue their studies at Prince Andrew High School, or at Dartmouth High School if they wish to continue Late French Immersion. The school takes students from Ian Forsyth Elementary School, Michael Wallace Elementary School and Admiral Westphal Elementary School.

Westphal is an unincorporated community located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and outside of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Some of Westphal is considered part of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and some of it is considered separate from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The area is bound by Port Wallace in the north, Waverley Road (Route 318) in the west, Lake Major Road in the east, and Main Street (Trunk 7) in the south. The area also includes the watershed and water filtration plant for the Halifax Regional Water Commission that supplies drinking water for the residents of Dartmouth and surrounding communities east of Halifax Harbour.

Nantucket is an upper middle income residential neighborhood in the Woodlawn area in the community of Dartmouth within the Halifax Regional Municipality Nova Scotia. The area was built in early 1970s across Portland Street (Route 207) from Portland Estates. It was named after the Nantucket Whaling Company which was once situated on Halifax Harbour.

Russell Lake is a small shallow lake in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality in the community of Dartmouth. The lake is bounded by the development of Russell Lake West to the west, Woodside to the south, Woodlawn to the north and Portland Estates to the east.

Manor Park is a neighbourhood of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. The main entrance to the neighbourhood is from the east on Portland Street (Route 207). A secondary entrance, from the west, is by way of Celtic Drive, rising from the low-lying area around Lake Banook. Within this neighbourhood is Brownlow Park, one of Dartmouth's local parks. The park, named after Dan Brownlow, a former Mayor of Dartmouth, includes two tennis courts, a basketball court, a soccer field, a children's playground, and a pathway for joggers. The area also abuts Oathill Lake, which is surrounded by a wooded area with a walking trail. This lake is enjoyed by many including fishermen and swimmers.

Southdale is a neighbourhood located between the neighbourhoods of Woodside and Manor Park in the community of Dartmouth, in the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary street is Portland Street which forms part of Route 207. A small lake called Maynard Lake is located within the neighbourhood .

CJLU-FM (93.9 MHz) is a Canadian radio station, licensed to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and serving the Halifax Regional Municipality. CJLU has a repeater station in Wolfville at 88.3 FM with the call sign CJLU-FM-1. The stations are owned by the International Harvesters for Christ Evangelistic Association Inc. They broadcast Contemporary Christian music part of the day with Christian talk and teaching programs heard at other times. Some religious leaders heard on CJLU-FM include David Jeremiah, Charles Stanley, John MacArthur and Jim Daly. The station received CRTC approval in 2004 and launched in 2005. CJLU also has a sister station in Moncton, New Brunswick, 105.1 CITA. On May 21, 2008, CJLU received approval to add a transmitter at Wolfville, Nova Scotia, to simulcast programming on CJLU-FM.
