Gortnahoe (Irish: Gort na hUamha, meaning "tilled field of the cave"), also known as Gortnahoo, is a village in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is located on the R689 regional road 6 km (3.7 mi) south of Urlingford, County Kilkenny. It is 3 km (1.9 mi) southeast of the N8 Dublin - Cork road. Gortnahoe, pronounced "Gurt/na/hoo" by the locals, is part of the parish of Gortnahoe–Glengoole.

Urlingford (Irish: Áth na nUrlainn, meaning 'Ford of the slaughter') is a town in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is also a civil parish within the barony of Galmoy. The town is in the north west of the county, along the boundary with County Tipperary, 16 km north-east of Thurles.

Buolick (Irish: Buailic) is a townland in the civil parish of the same name in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is approximately 2 square kilometres (0.8 sq mi) in area, and had a population of 27 people (in 11 houses) as of the 2011 census of Ireland.There is a 15th century tower house in the townland, close to the ruin and graveyard of a medieval church.

Buolick (Irish: Buailic) is a civil parish in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is one of nineteen civil parishes in the barony of Slievardagh. Buolick, also sometimes written as Boolick or Baolick, is also an electoral division in County Tipperary. The electoral division, originally in the Thurles Poor Law Union, is largely coterminous with Buolick civil parish. The village of Gortnahoo (or Gortnahoe) lies within the civil parish.

Famine Warhouse 1848, traditionally known as the Ballingarry Warhouse or The Widow McCormack's House, is an Irish farmhouse famous as the site of a skirmish in the Young Irelander Rebellion of 1848 (Ireland's contribution to the Springtime of the Peoples), at which the Irish tricolour was flown for the first time.Located 3.9 km (2.4 mi) north-northeast of Ballingarry, South Tipperary, the house was owned at the time of the battle by Margaret McCormack, the widow of Thomas McCormack. Rebels led by William Smith O'Brien besieged 47 policemen of the Irish Constabulary. After the loss of two men the rebels retreated, and were later arrested and transported.Known locally as the Warhouse, it became a National Monument in 1989, was renovated in 2000–01 and was renamed "Famine Warhouse 1848" in 2004. Today it houses a museum with exhibits on the Great Famine and mass emigration, the rebellion, the high treason trials and exile of the Young Ireland leaders in Australia and their escapes to the US.

Johnstown (Irish: Baile Sheáin), historically known as Coorthafooka (Irish: Cúirt an Phúca), is a small town in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Bypassed in December 2008 by the M8, the town lies at the junction of the R639, the R502 and the R435 regional roads. It is the home of the Fenians GAA hurling club. Situated 121 kilometres (75 mi) from Dublin and 131 kilometres (81 mi) from Cork, it lies in the agricultural heartland of the southeast. The village of Johnstown was once part of the barony of Galmoy and was laid out in the early 1700s by the Hely family of Foulkscourt Castle. The Hely family were descended from Sir John Hely (died 1701), Chief Justice of the Irish Common Pleas.

Fenians Johnstown is an Irish Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Hurling is the dominant sport in the club, which has provided the Kilkenny intercounty team with several top players. The club has also found success at county, provincial and even All-Ireland level.

Spahill and Clomantagh Hill is a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) in County Kilkenny in the Republic of Ireland. The SAC is in the parish of Balleen and includes the townlands of Clomantagh (Mt Garrett) and Spahill, in Irish Spahill is Cnoc na Spá and Clomantagh Hill is An Chloch Mhantach.

Clomantagh Castle is a 15th-century tower house located near Freshford, County Kilkenny, in Ireland. Originally constructed in the 1430s, additional buildings and outbuildings were added in the subsequent centuries - including a connected 19th century farmhouse. Carvings on the castle's walls include a Sheela na gig relief (a symbolic pagan nude).Situated on lands owned by the Earls of Ormond, on the death of Pierce 'Ruadh' Butler, 8th Earl of Ormond in 1539, the castle was inherited by his son, Richard Butler, 1st Viscount Mountgarret. It remained in the hands of the Butlers of Mountgarret through the 16th and 17th centuries, until its confiscation following the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland.The castle was subject to renovations in the late 20th century (which received an award from the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland), and is now managed as a holiday rental property by the Irish Landmark Trust.

Galmoy (Irish: Gabhalmhaigh, meaning 'plain of the Ghabhal [River Goul]') is a barony in the north western part of County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is one of 12 baronies in County Kilkenny. The size of the barony is 162.7 square kilometres (62.8 sq mi). There are 12 civil parishes in Galmoy. While it is named after the village of Galmoy, today the chief town of the barony is Urlingford. Galmoy barony lies at the north-western corner of the county between Fassadinin to the east (whose chief town is Castlecomer), and Crannagh to the south (whose chief town is Freshford). It is surrounded on two sides by counties Tipperary to the west and Laois to the north. The M8 Dublin/Cork motorway bisects the barony. It is situated 121 kilometres (75 mi) from Dublin city and 131 kilometres (81 mi) from Cork city. Galmoy is currently administered by Kilkenny County Council. The barony was part of in the historic kingdom of Osraige (Ossory).

Grangefertagh is a former abbey located in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is today a National Monument.
