Low Bentham railway station

Bentham Grammar School was an independent school in Bentham, North Yorkshire, England. The school was founded in 1726 but closed in 2002 due to dwindling pupil numbers.

Bentham is a railway station on the Bentham Line, which runs between Leeds and Morecambe via Skipton. The station, situated 19 miles (31 km) east of Lancaster, serves the town of High Bentham and surrounding settlements in North Yorkshire. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains.

The original centre of the town lay in Low Bentham, but a market was granted to High Bentham in the 14th century, and it became a centre for weaving from the 18th century, particularly after weavers in the town discovered how to weave hosepipes from flax.It was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the Craven District.

Bentham Town Hall, also known as High Bentham Town Hall, is a municipal building in Station Road, High Bentham, a town in North Yorkshire, England. The building currently accommdated Bentham Town Council but is also used as a community events venue and a tourist information office.

Burton in Lonsdale Castle was in the village of Burton in Lonsdale in North Yorkshire, England (grid reference SD649721). The Pipe Rolls for the reign of Henry II record that the castle's garrison in 1129–1130 consisted of a knight, ten sergeants, a gatekeeper, and a watchman.This was a motte castle with two baileys. In 1322 it was confiscated from the Mowbrays who had been in opposition to King Edward II. The mound is still visible.

The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It stands in High Street, opposite the site of Burton in Lonsdale Castle.

The Ridding is a Victorian country house located in the village of Bentham, North Yorkshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.It was built in Scottish Baronial style for B. H. Bent by E. G. Paley in 1857–60, the only building designed in this style by Paley. It is built of squared rubble with sandstone ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The frontage has three bays in two storeys and incorporates a short two-stage tower at the left.

Burton in Lonsdale is a village and civil parish in the Craven District of North Yorkshire, England, close to the border with Lancashire and Cumbria. It is in Lonsdale (the River Lune valley and its tributaries). The parish is approximately 1,500 acres (6 km2) in area and has many farms – dairy, beef and sheep. Little is grown, except grass to feed the animals. The village was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974.Formerly famous for country pottery, it is now a quiet village situated between two national parks (the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park) and by the side of the River Greta.
