Greenville Street Historic District

The Hibernian Hall is a historic building at 182-186 Dudley Street in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The four story brick building was designed by Edward Thomas Patrick Graham, and built in 1913 for the Ancient Order of Hibernians, an Irish Catholic fraternal organization. It was the first of several Hibernian halls to be built in Roxbury, it is now one of only two Irish dance halls from the period to survive. Its ground floor was originally occupied by storefronts, with offices of the organization and a banquet hall on the second floor, and a large hall (capacity 600) on the third floor, which included a fourth-floor balcony. It remained a gathering place for local Irish residents through the 1960s, and was taken by foreclosure in 1960. It was then taken over by a non-profit focused on job training for local African Americans, which operated there until 1989. The building interior has suffered due to neglect and vandalism, but the basic form of the upper concert hall has survived.Madison Park Development Corporation obtained the building in 2005, renovated and reopened it in 2005. The grand ballroom, which sits 250 people, serves the community as the Roxbury Center for Arts at Hibernian Hall, a venue for theater, concerts, dances, visual art fairs, film screenings, and private parties. The performance space is used by a variety of Boston-area groups, including Praxis Stage, Celebrity Series of Boston Neighborhood Arts,The hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Mount Pleasant Historic District is a historic district encompassing a cluster of well-preserved 19th-century residential buildings on Forest Street and Mount Pleasant Avenue in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. First developed in 1833, it was one Roxbury's first speculative residential subdivision developments. The district features Greek Revival, Italianate, and Romanesque architecture, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Twelfth Baptist Church is a historic church in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1840, it is the oldest direct descendant of the First Independent Baptist Church in Beacon Hill. Notable members have included abolitionists such as Lewis Hayden and Rev. Leonard Grimes, the historian George Washington Williams, the artist Edward Mitchell Bannister and abolitionist and entrepreneur Christiana Carteaux, pioneering educator Wilhelmina Crosson, and civil rights movement leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Dearborn School is an historic school building at 25 Ambrose Street in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The three-story brick Beaux Arts school was designed by Roxbury native Edwin James Lewis, Jr., and built in 1905. It is the only building to survive a c. 1950 urban redevelopment of the area. It was named in honor of Boston mayor Henry A. S. Dearborn. It served as an elementary or middle school until the 1980s, and has since been converted into housing.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Nubian station (variously known by its former name Dudley Square, Dudley, or Dudley Street Terminal) is a ground-level bus station located in Nubian Square (formerly Dudley Square) in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It is a transfer point between 18 Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) bus routes, including two Silver Line bus rapid transit lines and 16 local MBTA bus routes. Like all MBTA bus stops, Nubian is fully accessible. The original Dudley Square station opened in 1901 as a BERy Main Line Elevated station. The last segment of the original Main Line Elevated, the Washington Street Elevated (including Dudley station), closed in 1987; six years later, Dudley was converted into its modern configuration. Silver Line service began in 2002. The station was renamed Nubian in June 2020, following the 2019 renaming of the square. Nubian is a contributing property in the Dudley Station Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Dudley Station Historic District is a historic district on Washington, Warren, and Dudley Streets in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The central feature of the district is Dudley Square station (now Nubian station), a Beaux Arts/French Renaissance structure designed by Alexander Wadsworth Longfellow and built by the Boston Elevated Railway (BERy, a predecessor of the MBTA) in 1901. It is one of the best-preserved BERy stations remaining.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Moreland Street Historic District is a historic district roughly bounded by Kearsarge, Blue Hill Avenues, and Warren, Waverly, and Winthrop Streets in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It encompasses 63 acres (25 ha) of predominantly residential urban streetscape, which was developed between about 1840 and 1920. Housing types represent a cross-section of architectural styles from the period, including Second Empire, Italianate, and Queen Anne style. It is a fairly well-preserved grouping in an area where many sections have been negatively affected by urban blight and redevelopment. One notable house is at 130 Warren Street: it is the only house in the district built out of Roxbury puddingstone. That building is currently under study as a pending landmark for the Boston Landmarks Commission.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Eliot Burying Ground (or ""Eustis Street Burying Ground" or "First Burying Ground in Roxbury") is a historic seventeenth-century graveyard at Eustis and Washington Streets in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It occupies a roughly triangular lot of 0.8 acres (0.32 ha). Founded in 1630, the cemetery is the oldest in Roxbury (which was annexed to Boston in 1868). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The graveyard is one of several historic properties within the Eustis Street Architectural Conservation District of the Boston Landmarks Commission. Many well-known historical figures of colonial Massachusetts are buried at Eliot Burying Ground, including John Eliot, and members of the Dudley family, including Governors Thomas and Joseph Dudley, and Chief Justice Paul Dudley.

Orchard Park, also known as "Home of New Edition," was one of Boston's most notorious housing projects, located in Roxbury, Massachusetts. It is also the former home of singer Bobby Brown and New Edition members Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ralph Tresvant. The 350-unit three-story brick complex was built in 1941 and was demolished in 1998 due to crime problems.

Nubian Square (formerly Dudley Square) is the primary commercial center of the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, located at the intersection of Dudley Street and Washington Street. It has long been the center of African American culture in Boston, prior to which the area was primarily Jewish.For most of the twentieth century, the square was a multi-mode transportation hub, centered at Dudley station, now Nubian station of the Washington Street Elevated, which closed in 1987. Several streetcar lines radiated to surrounding neighborhoods from the elevated station. It is now a substantial bus terminal and terminus for the MBTA's bus rapid transit Silver Line.

Melnea Cass Boulevard station is a street-level bus station on the Washington Street branch of the MBTA Silver Line bus rapid transit service. It is located on Washington Street at Melnea Cass Boulevard in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The stop is served by the SL4 and SL5 Silver Line routes; a number of local MBTA bus routes stop nearby. Like all Silver Line stops, Melnea Cass Boulevard is accessible. Silver Line service on Washington Street began on July 20, 2002, replacing the route 49 bus. Service levels doubled on October 15, 2009, with the introduction of the SL4 route.Washington Street was a proposed stop on the Urban Ring – a circumferential bus rapid transit (BRT) line designed to connect the existing radial MBTA rail lines to reduce overcrowding in the downtown stations. Under draft plans released in 2008, buses would have run in dedicated lanes on Melnea Cass Boulevard, with platforms at Washington Street. A spur of the Urban Ring would have run on Washington Street to Dudley Square. The project was cancelled in 2010.

The Goldsmith Block is an historic apartment building at 41 Ruggles Street, 746–750 Shawmut Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts. The four story, orange brick building was built in 1892 by Samuel Goldsmith to a design by Cornelius Russell, a regionally notable designer of apartment blocks. The building has restrained Classical Revival and Romanesque elements. It is one of a small number of 19th-century buildings to survive an urban redevelopment project in the area during the 1960s.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
