The barony of Shillelogher (Irish: Síol Fhaolchair, meaning 'territory of the Descendants of Fáelchar') is a barony in the west of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The barony is 36,684 acres (148.45 km2) in size. It is one of 12 baronies in County Kilkenny. There are 19 civil parishes in Shillelogher, made up of 109 townlands. The chief town is Bennettsbridge. Shillelogher lies at the centre of the county, with the baronies of Crannagh and Kilkenny to the north (whose chief towns are Freshford and Kilkenny, and the barony of Gowran to the east (whose chief towns is Gowran). It is borders County Tipperary to the west. The N76 road bisects the barony. The river Nore flows through the barony. Danesfort Church is located in Shillelogher.Shillelogher was an early medieval cantred within the shire of Kilkenny, and part of the historic kingdom of Osraige (Ossory). Today it is part of the Roman Catholic Church diocese of Ossory and the Church of Ireland diocese of Cashel and Ossory. Shillelogher is currently administered by Kilkenny County Council.

Graigue-Ballycallan is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club has enjoyed success at county and provincial level, and several players from the club have gone on to play a part in the Kilkenny intercounty team. The catchment area for the club is the villages of Kilmanagh, Ballycallan and Graigue Cross. They play their home matches in Tom Ryall Park, which is situated in Kilmanagh. The current senior hurling manager is Tipperary native and former Antrim hurling manager Dinny Cahill.

Burnchurch Castle, a National Monument, is a well-preserved 15th century Norman tower house with a round gate tower, situated in the parish of Burnchurch, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Burnchurch Castle and tower, along with the Church of Ireland church, and the lime trees became a National Monument in 1993.It is said to have been built and owned by the Fitzgeralds of the house of Desmond in 15th century and continued to be occupied until 1817. It is 6.5 km (4.0 mi) south west of Kilkenny, off the Clonmel Road, 6 km from Ballybur near Cuffesgrange, outside the town of Callan, nearby to Kells Priory. It is located in Burnchurch parish and was in the barony of Shillelogher.

Redhouse (Irish: An Tigh Rua) is a townland in County Kilkenny, Ireland located midway between the towns of Callan and Kilmanagh. Redhouse is noted in historical records as having a well which was used by thousands during the Great Irish Famine as many other wells in the area had gone dry. To this is attributed a higher than average survival rate in the area during the famine.

Buckley Park is a multi-purpose stadium on the Callan Road (N76), near Kilkenny, Ireland. Kilkenny City (formerly EMFA) purchased 5.7 acres (23,000 m2) of land from a local farmer by the name of Mick Murphy for £16,000. The ground was originally called Tenney Park. It is currently used for football matches by Women's National League club Kilkenny United WFC and was previously the home stadium of Kilkenny City A.F.C. Buckley Park has hosted many junior international soccer games. The ground is named in honour of Marty Buckley, the first president of EMFA / City . He was a former player and administrator with Green Celtic F.C. . He remained involved with EMFA / City until the 1980s, managing youth and junior teams within the club and acting as a trustee for the club until his death. The stadium has also hosted 6 Republic of Ireland under-21 national football team games.

Kilkenny Airport (IATA: KKY, ICAO: EIKK) is an airport located 1.5 NM (2.8 km; 1.7 mi) west of Kilkenny in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The aerodrome was founded in 1963 by John Hehir, Martin Mulhall, Patrick Nolan and Edward Stallard. All founding members were active pilots and natives of Kilkenny.The aerodrome was first licensed by the Department of Transport and Power on 30 April 1965. The aerodrome has remained licensed each year since first licence issue. The current licence holder is Irish Skydiving Club Limited. The aerodrome consisted originally of two grass runways, but in 1976, this was reduced to a single runway (09/27) and the main runway was extended to 930 meters.There is a parachute club and flying club based at the aerodrome and the aerodrome facilitates private domestic aircraft and private international flights, mainly from the UK. There are a number of private light aircraft based at the aerodrome. Kilkenny Airport is also home to the Kinair Air Rally, which ran every year for 25 years.Kilkenny Airport was funded each year by Kilkenny County Council from 1976 to 2007. These funds assisted with the development of the airport and subsidised the operating costs of the airport.In the Cabin Pressure episode Uskerty, Kilkenny airport is the destination of a fictional flight.

Rahelty is a townland of 298 acres in the civil parish of Ballinamara in the barony of Cranagh in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is located a few miles to the north-west of Kilkenny City.

Kells (Irish: Ceanannas) is a village in County Kilkenny in Ireland. It is about 15 km south of Kilkenny. It is situated on high ground to the south of the Kings River. Kells Priory, though in ruins, is one of the best preserved in Ireland. The Cotterell family were the leading landowners in Kells in medieval times. One member of the family, Sir John, was executed for treason in 1346. On the other hand, his cousin Walter Cotterell (who died after 1388) was a valued servant of the English Crown who frequently sat as an extra judge. Kilree round tower and 9th century high cross, said to be the burial place of Niall Caille, is located 2 km south of Kells. The champion racehorse Red Rum was bred at Rossenarra stud in Kells. Olympian Michelle Smith de Bruin lives in Kells.
