Burnchurch (Irish: An Teampall Loiscthe) is a civil parish in Shillelogher, County Kilkenny, Ireland. It has an area of 3,383 acres (1,369 ha).

Ballyda (Irish: Baile Dháith) is a small townland in the civil parish of Danesfort in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The townland has an area of approximately 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), and had a population of 70 people as of the 2011 census.

The barony is 36,684 acres (148.45 km2) in size. It is one of 12 baronies in County Kilkenny. There are 19 civil parishes in Shillelogher, made up of 109 townlands. The chief town is Bennettsbridge. Shillelogher lies at the centre of the county, with the baronies of Crannagh and Kilkenny to the north (whose chief towns are Freshford and Kilkenny, and the barony of Gowran to the east (whose chief towns is Gowran). It is borders County Tipperary to the west. The N76 road bisects the barony. The river Nore flows through the barony. Danesfort Church is located in Shillelogher.Shillelogher was an early medieval cantred within the shire of Kilkenny, and part of the historic kingdom of Osraige (Ossory). Today it is part of the Roman Catholic Church diocese of Ossory and the Church of Ireland diocese of Cashel and Ossory. Shillelogher is currently administered by Kilkenny County Council.

Kells (Irish: Ceanannas) is a village in County Kilkenny in Ireland. It is about 15 km south of Kilkenny. It is situated on high ground to the south of the Kings River. Kells Priory, though in ruins, is one of the best preserved in Ireland. The Cotterell family were the leading landowners in Kells in medieval times. One member of the family, Sir John, was executed for treason in 1346. On the other hand, his cousin Walter Cotterell (who died after 1388) was a valued servant of the English Crown who frequently sat as an extra judge. Kilree round tower and 9th century high cross, said to be the burial place of Niall Caille, is located 2 km south of Kells. The champion racehorse Red Rum was bred at Rossenarra stud in Kells. Olympian Michelle Smith de Bruin lives in Kells.

County Kilkenny (Irish: Contae Chill Chainnigh) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Leinster and is part of the South-East Region. It is named after the city of Kilkenny. Kilkenny County Council is the local authority for the county. As of the 2016 census the population of the county was 99,232. The county was based on the historic Gaelic kingdom of Ossory (Osraighe), which was coterminous with the Diocese of Ossory.

Kells Priory (Irish: Prióireacht Cheanannais) is one of the largest medieval monuments in Ireland. The Augustine priory is situated alongside King's River beside the village of Kells in the townland of Rathduff (Madden), about 15 km south of the medieval city of Kilkenny. The priory is a National Monument and is in the guardianship of the Office of Public Works. One of its most notable features is a collection of medieval tower houses spaced at intervals along and within walls which enclose a site of just over 3 acres (12,000 m2). These give the priory the appearance more of a fortress than of a place of worship and from them comes its local name of "Seven Castles". 4 km southeast of the priory on the R697 regional road is Kilree round tower and 9th century High Cross, said to be the burial place of Niall Caille. It was used in the film Barry Lyndon as the location for the English Redcoat encampment.Kells Priory was founded by Geoffrey FitzRobert most probably in 1193. FitzRobert was brother-in-law to Strongbow and the priory succeeded an earlier church that was dedicated to St. Mary, the Blessed Virgin and served as the parish church to nearby Kells village. During its first century and a half, the priory was attacked and burned on three occasions, first by Lord William de Bermingham in 1252, by the Scots army of Edward Bruce on Palm Sunday 1326, and by a second William de Bermingham in 1327. In 1324 the Bishop of Ossory, Richard de Ledrede, paid a lenten visit to the priory. Following an inquisition into a Kilkenny sect of heretics, Alice Kyteler and William Outlawe were ordered to appear before the Bishop to answer charges of witchcraft. Outlawe was supported by Arnold de Paor, Lord of Kells who arrested the Bishop and had him imprisoned in Kilkenny Castle for 17 days. This caused great scandal and on his release, the Bishop successfully prosecuted the heretics. Alice Kyteler fled to England and remained there, Alice Smith also fled, but her maidservant Petronilla de Meath became Ireland's first heretic to be burned at the stake.Dissolution of Kells Priory finally took place in March 1540 and the church and property were surrendered to James Butler, 9th Earl of Ormonde.

Buckley Park is a multi-purpose stadium on the Callan Road (N76), near Kilkenny, Ireland. Kilkenny City (formerly EMFA) purchased 5.7 acres (23,000 m2) of land from a local farmer by the name of Mick Murphy for £16,000. The ground was originally called Tenney Park. It is currently used for football matches by Women's National League club Kilkenny United WFC and was previously the home stadium of Kilkenny City A.F.C. Buckley Park has hosted many junior international soccer games. The ground is named in honour of Marty Buckley, the first president of EMFA / City . He was a former player and administrator with Green Celtic F.C. . He remained involved with EMFA / City until the 1980s, managing youth and junior teams within the club and acting as a trustee for the club until his death. The stadium has also hosted 6 Republic of Ireland under-21 national football team games.

Danesfort (Irish: Dún Feart, meaning 'fort of the grave mound') is a small rural area in County Kilkenny, Ireland, located approximately 6 km from Kilkenny City on the N10 (Waterford to Kilkenny). It is also the name of a civil parish in County Kilkenny. The local area consists of one primary school, a local GAA pitch, a Roman Catholic Church (including graveyard). A creche, a community centre and a care home for the elderly. The townland is divided almost equally either side of the road. Danesfort's flag is the same colour (black and amber) as that of its county, Kilkenny.

Kilkenny RFC is an Irish rugby team based in Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, playing in Division 1A of the Leinster League. The club colours are black and white.
