St. Mary's Church is a medieval church and National Monument in Callan, Ireland.

The Callan Augustinian Friary (Irish: Mainistir Agaistínigh Challainn) is an Augustinian friary in Callan, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Originally founded in the 15th century, it is located in what is known locally as the "Abbey Meadow", in the north-east of the town, on the banks of the Kings River. The friary forms part of the Callan Heritage Trail, which opened in May 2024.

John Locke's GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Callan, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club was founded in 1889 and almost exclusively fields teams in hurling.

Situated about 16 km (10 mi) south of Kilkenny on the N76 road to Clonmel, it is near the border with County Tipperary. It is the second largest town in the county, with a population of 2,678 at the 2022 census. Callan is the principal settlement in the barony of the same name.

The barony is bordered by the baronies of Shillelogher to the north (whose chief town is Bennettsbridge) and by Kells to the south (whose chief town is Kells). The N76 road bisects the barony. Notable features include Callan Motte and Callan Augustinian Friary. Callan was an early medieval cantred within the shire of Kilkenny, and part of the historic kingdom of Osraige (Ossory). Today it is part of the Roman Catholic Church diocese of Ossory and the Church of Ireland diocese of Cashel and Ossory. Callan is currently administered by Kilkenny County Council.

Redhouse (Irish: An Tigh Rua) is a townland in County Kilkenny, Ireland located midway between the towns of Callan and Kilmanagh. Redhouse is noted in historical records as having a well which was used by thousands during the Great Irish Famine as many other wells in the area had gone dry. To this is attributed a higher than average survival rate in the area during the famine.

Desart Court was a house in County Kilkenny, Ireland, built around 1733 for the first Lord Desart, John Cuffe. The architect is believed to have been Sir Edward Lovett Pearce.

Shillelogher lies at the centre of the county, with the baronies of Crannagh and Kilkenny to the north (whose chief towns are Freshford and Kilkenny, and the barony of Gowran to the east (whose chief towns is Gowran). It is borders County Tipperary to the west. The N76 road bisects the barony. The river Nore flows through the barony. Ballykeeffe Wood is a national nature reserve of approximately 137 acres (0.55 km2) located in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is managed by the Irish National Parks and Wildlife Service, part of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

Graigue-Ballycallan is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club has enjoyed success at county and provincial level, and several players from the club have gone on to play a part in the Kilkenny intercounty team. The catchment area for the club is the villages of Kilmanagh, Ballycallan and Graigue Cross. They play their home matches in Tom Ryall Park, which is situated in Kilmanagh. The current senior hurling manager is Tipperary native and former Antrim hurling manager Dinny Cahill.

Burnchurch Castle, a National Monument, is a well-preserved 15th century Norman tower house with a round gate tower, situated in the parish of Burnchurch, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Burnchurch Castle and tower, along with the Church of Ireland church, and the lime trees became a National Monument in 1993.It is said to have been built and owned by the Fitzgeralds of the house of Desmond in 15th century and continued to be occupied until 1817. It is 6.5 km (4.0 mi) south west of Kilkenny, off the Clonmel Road, 6 km from Ballybur near Cuffesgrange, outside the town of Callan, nearby to Kells Priory. It is located in Burnchurch parish and was in the barony of Shillelogher.
