Beechwood Luas stop

Mint Restaurant was a Michelin star–winning restaurant located in Ranelagh, Dublin in Ireland. It was owned by the celebrity chef Dylan McGrath. The restaurant was featured in the 2008 RTÉ One fly on the wall documentary The Pressure Cooker, a programme which led to much complaint from McGrath's fellow chefs in the Irish media about his alleged mistreatment of his staff. The closure of Mint Restaurant was publicised in the Evening Herald on 23 April 2009.

The Mageough Home for Aged Females, commonly known as the Mageough , is a 19th-century retirement home in Rathmines, southern Dublin, Ireland.

The Battle of Rathmines was fought on 2 August 1649, near the modern Dublin suburb of Rathmines, during the Irish Confederate Wars, an associated conflict of the 1638 to 1651 Wars of the Three Kingdoms. It has been described as the 'decisive battle of the Engagement in Ireland.'In late July 1649, a combined Irish Confederate/Royalist army under the Earl of Ormond, tried to capture Dublin, held by forces loyal to the Commonwealth, commanded by Michael Jones. Despite their superior numbers, Ormond's troops were routed by Jones' veterans, many of whom were members of the New Model Army. Their victory secured Dublin, enabling another 12,000 troops under Oliver Cromwell to land unimpeded, and begin the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland.

Ranelagh ( RAN-ə-lə, locally REN-; Irish: Raghnallach) is an affluent residential area and urban village on the Southside of Dublin, Ireland in the postal district of D06.

Cowper is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2004 as a stop on the Green Line from St Stephen's Green station to Sandyford. It serves parts of Ranelagh and Rathmines. The Green Line runs on mostly segregated track, making use of a disused railway alignment. The Cowper stop is located between the backs of residential properties. The stop has the signs, displays, shelters, and ticket machines common to all Luas stops. It has two entrances: one from Merton Road and one from Tudor Road. Both entrances consist of simple tree-lined pathways and lead to the southern end of the platforms. The Merton Road entrance is signposted with a solar-powered totem. It takes its name from the nearby Cowper Road, which is named for William Cowper-Temple, 1st Baron Mount Temple (1811–1888), who formerly owned land in the area. He pronounced his name "cooper", but the station is pronounced "cow-per."

Sandford Park School is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational secondary school, located in Ranelagh, Dublin, Ireland. It was founded in 1922.

Ranelagh ( RAN-ə-lə, locally REN-; Irish: Raghnallach) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2004 as a stop on the Green Line from St Stephen's Green station to Sandyford. It provides access to the urban villages of Ranelagh and Rathmines. The Green Line re-uses the alignment of the Harcourt Street railway line, which closed in 1958. The Luas stop at Ranelagh is on a stretch of track where the line crosses Ranelagh Road on a viaduct. The Harcourt Street line did not have a station here (a station called Ranelagh and Rathmines was situated further down the line, at the location of the present Beechwood Luas stop). The bridge over Ranelagh Road consists of a steel deck constructed in 2004, and the existing stone abutments. Ranelagh is one of few Luas stops to have a station building of sorts - a two-storey structure located on Ranelagh Road. The building has a wide entrance, above which is a sign showing the stop's name in the same style as on the platform signs. Inside, the building has little more than tiled steps leading to both platforms. A lift also provides step-free access from the street to the southbound platform. A section of the building is used as a retail unit and is currently occupied by a restaurant. The platforms at Ranelagh are located directly above Ranelagh Road and have the benches, ticket machines, shelters, and displays common to all Luas stops. Ranelagh is also served by Dublin Bus routes 11, 18, 44, 44B and 61.

Belgrave Square is a residential Victorian square in D6, Dublin, located off of Castlewood Avenue between Rathmines and Ranelagh. There is a small playground and old large chestnut trees, along with a rolling grassy area. Belgrave Square has hosted events, musical performances, and recreational outings.

Gonzaga College is a voluntary Catholic boys' secondary school in Ranelagh, Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 1950, Gonzaga College is under the trusteeship of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuit Order), one of five Jesuit secondary schools in Ireland. The curriculum is traditional, with a broad general programme of subjects including Latin and Greek at junior cycle and the opportunity in senior cycle to study eight subjects for the Leaving Certificate. The school is named after the early Jesuit Saint Aloysius Gonzaga and takes its emblem from the coat of arms of the Gonzaga family. The school has a liberal, intellectual, and Jesuit ethos.The annual fee for the 2019–2020 academic year is €6,605.

The Church of Ireland College of Education or C.I.C.E. as it was more commonly known (Irish: Coláiste Oideachais Eaglais na hÉireann) was one of five Irish Colleges of Education which provided a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree, the qualification generally required to teach in Irish primary schools. Its degrees were awarded by Trinity College/University of Dublin just like Marino Institute of Education and Froebel College of Education. The college was located in Rathmines in Dublin. The College also provided postgraduate courses in Learning Support and Special Educational Needs and a Certificate Course for Special Needs Assistants. On 1 October 2016, the college was incorporated into Dublin City University.

The Royal Hospital, Donnybrook (Irish: Ospidéal Ríoga, Domhnach Broc) is a hospital in Donnybrook, Dublin, Ireland, founded in 1743. It was originally set up as a "hospital for incurables" to provide sufferers with food, shelter and relief from their distressing conditions.

Mount Pleasant Square is a Georgian garden square on the border of Rathmines and Ranelagh, in the city of Dublin, Ireland. It is about a twenty-five minute walk from Grafton Street. Completed in 1834, the square is widely celebrated for its elegance and quiet charm. In her article in The Georgian Squares of Dublin, Susan Roundtree writes: "It has justifiably been described as one of the most beautiful early 19th-century squares in Dublin." In the 24 March 1978 edition of In Dublin magazine, Gordon Lynch wrote, "The recently face-lifted Mount Pleasant Square, which is protected by a preservation order, is the only curved square in Dublin, if such a thing is possible."There are 56 terraced houses on three sides of a central open space, now housing a tennis club and a small public park. The north and south sides are crescents rather than typical borders of a square. About half of the houses are occupied by young families, while several remain in apartments. Homes on the west side have south-west facing back gardens, there is a Victorian Era post-box on the south-west corner of the square, and 24-hour disc parking is enforced.
