Töölö (Finnish: [ˈtøːlø]; Swedish: Tölö, formerly spelled Thölö) is the collective name for the neighbourhoods Etu-Töölö (Swedish: Främre Tölö, lit. 'Front Töölö') and Taka-Töölö (Swedish: Bortre Tölö, lit. 'Rear Töölö') in Helsinki, Finland. The neighbourhoods are located next to the city centre, occupying the western side of the Helsinki Peninsula. Etu-Töölö, the southern neighbourhood, borders Kamppi and is the location of the Finnish Parliament House. Taka-Töölö, the northern neighbourhood, borders Meilahti and Laakso, and is the location of the Helsinki University Central Hospital. Contrary to popular belief, Töölö is no longer an official name of any district or neighbourhood in Helsinki; in 1959 Töölö was divided into Etu-Töölö and Taka-Töölö.

HIFK, the Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors (IFK, Helsingfors) rf (officially abbreviated IFK Helsingfors, colloquially often Helsingfors IFK or Helsingin IFK ) is a multi-sport association based in Helsinki, Finland. Formed in 1897 on the initiative of Georges Doubitsky and fellow students of the Svenska Reallyceum, the Swedish lyceum in Helsinki, it is the oldest continuously-operating Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna (IFK) organization in Finland. HIFK has sections in many sports, including athletics, bandy, bowling, football, ice hockey, and handball.

The Töölö Hospital is a hospital in Taka-Töölö, Helsinki, Finland, belonging to the Helsinki University Central Hospital. It has special departments for plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery and traumatology, hand surgery and neurosurgery. The hospital has a 24-hour policlinic receiving trauma patients from the Helsinki capital area and occasionally from the entire region of Southern Finland. Patients usually arrive at the policlinic on a medical note. The policlinic treats about 18 thousand patients per year. The hospital also hosts the cleft lip and cleft palate centre HUSUKE, containing research and care for cleft lips and cleft palates as well as the department for care of mouth and jaw diseases. The Töölö Hospital also has its own X-ray facility and laboratory. The Töölö Hospital is part of the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District. Until the early 1960s, the hospital was known by its earlier name as the Finnish Red Cross Hospital. People who lived through wartime in Finland used to call the hospital with the name Mannerheim hospital, as field marshal Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim had become a personification of the Finnish Red Cross, and was also treated as a private patient at the Töölö Hospital. The Töölö Hospital will be discontinued in the 2020s when the new Siltasairaala hospital in Meilahti is completed.

Elite is a restaurant located in Töölö in Helsinki, Finland, at Eteläinen Hesperiankatu 22. Elite was founded in 1932. The original restaurant manager was Ernst Mattas. The restaurant moved to its current premises in the new Reitz house in 1938, where a separate building was designed for the restaurant on the ground floor. Ernst Mattas's successor was his son Willy together with his wife Margaretha up to 1985, when the restaurant was taken over by Alko's daughter company Kantaravintolat and then by Arctia up to 1997, when it was bought by Royal Ravintolat together with other Arctia-owned restaurants.Elite become famous among the artists in Helsinki right from the start. Famous customers have included writers Satu and Mika Waltari, actors Tauno Palo, Kirsti Ortola, Sakari Halonen, Uuno Laakso and Aku Korhonen, artists Aimo Kanerva and Unto Koistinen, cultural and political writer Matti Kurjensaari and musicians from Aarne Merikanto to Selim Palmgren. The location near the Lallukka artist home had a great impact on Elite's role as an artist restaurant. The restaurant was Tauno Palo's favourite. Elite still serves an onion steak named after him. Palo's usual table is marked with a plaque. The restaurant was designed in 1938 by the Stockmann architecture bureau. The restaurant was renovated in 1986 by Studio Pekka Perjo. Elite's image includes the traditional, almost entirely preserved milieu with white tablecloths and paintings belonging to the Mattas family private collection, which number 26 in total and of which at least the following have been painted by Lallukka artists: Stilleben ("still life") by Väinö Hervo (1954), Lappi ("Lapland") by P. Lindfors (1940), Miehiä ("men") (1982), Joen rannalla ("on the river shore") (1986), Kulmakapakka ("corner bar") (1986) by T. Mäntynen and Lemminkäinen ja Aino ("Lemminkäinen and Aino") (1955), Lemminkäinen saapuu saaren neitojen luo ("Lemminkäinen arrives among the island maidens") (1955) and Neitsyt Maria ("the virgin Mary") (1954) by M. Visanti.Aarni Krohn described Elite in his memoir: Elite kind of avoids descriptions. It can not be exactly defined. An artist bar - yes, already because Lallukka is located nearby, but not just because of that. Very much a local bar, but not just that. The Töölöans' own oasis, why not? A stopping and discussion bar for the local authorities, for sure.

The Kirpilä Art Collection (Finnish: Taidekoti Kirpilä, Swedish: Konsthemmet Kirpilä) is an art museum in Helsinki. The museum contains the art collection of medical doctor Juhani Kirpilä (1931-1988) and is located in his former home, an apartment in Helsinki. It opened in 1992 and contains Finnish art from the 19th century to the 1970s. Among the artists represented in the collection are Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Ellen Thesleff, Eero Nelimarkka, Åke Mattas, Wäinö Aaltonen and Kain Tapper. The museum is owned and maintained by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Töölö Church (Finnish: Töölön kirkko, Swedish: Tölö kyrka) is a Lutheran church in the Taka-Töölö district of Helsinki, Finland. The building represents Nordic Classicism and was designed by Hilding Ekelund following an architectural competition. Completed in 1930, it originally served as a parish center and was dedicated as a church when Töölö parish was created in 1941.The church main hall seats 400 people. There are also two parish meeting halls for 70 and 20 people.Töölö Church reopened in early 2016 after three and a half years of renovations.

Kristuskyrkan (Church of Christ) is a Christian church in Helsinki, Finland, located in the central district of Etu-Töölö (Swedish: Främre Tölö) at the corner between Fänrik Ståls Street and Apollonkatu Street. It was built at the beginning of the twentieth century and it is part of the Swedish Methodist Church of Finland.

Töölö Sports Hall (Finnish: Töölön kisahalli, Swedish: Tölö sporthall) is a sports venue located in the Töölö district of Helsinki, Finland. It was designed by Aarne Hytönen and Risto-Veikko Luukkonen and built in 1935 as Messuhalli (Exhibition Hall). It is located near the Olympic Stadium, the Opera House, and the Sonera Stadium. The hall was originally a venue for concerts, banquets and sporting events, but is now used only for training and competition in various sports.

Runeberginkatu (Swedish: Runebergsgatan) is a major street in central Helsinki, Finland. Starting from Kampintori, it runs in a sweeping arc broadly northwards for approximately 1.8 kilometres (1.1 mi) through the districts of Kamppi and Töölö, via Töölöntori square, terminating at a junction with Mannerheimintie by the Finnish National Opera. The street is named after Johan Ludvig Runeberg, the national poet of Finland. The name first appears in a map from 1892, initially as 'Runebergkatu', and was changed in 1928 to its current format.Sections of the street carry tram traffic (as of January 2021, routes 1, 2 and 8).Major intersections of Runeberginkatu include: Arkadiankatu Museokatu Hesperia Esplanade Topeliuksenkatu MannerheimintieNotable buildings along the street include the Swedish-language Hanken School of Economics, on the corner with Arkadiankatu. The Finnish-language business school, Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, was also located nearby, before becoming a part of the newly formed Aalto University and moving to the latter's Otaniemi campus.

Temppeliaukio Church (Finnish: Temppeliaukion kirkko, Swedish: Tempelplatsens kyrka) is a Lutheran church in the Töölö neighborhood of Helsinki. The church was designed by architects and brothers Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen and opened in 1969. Built directly into solid rock, it is also known as the Church of the Rock and Rock Church.

The Finnish National Opera and Ballet (Finnish: Suomen Kansallisooppera ja -baletti; Swedish: Finlands Nationalopera och -balett) is a Finnish opera company and ballet company based in Helsinki. It is headquartered in the Opera House on the coast of the Töölönlahti bay in Töölö, which opened in 1993, and is state-owned through Senate Properties. The Opera House features two auditoriums, the main auditorium with 1,350, seats and a smaller studio auditorium with 300–500 seats.

The Paavo nurmi statue (also known as the Paavo Nurmi runner statue) is a whole-body sculpture of runner Paavo Nurmi, the most successful Olympic athlete in Finland, made by sculptor Wäinö Aaltonen. The bronze sculpture was made in 1925 and there have been four additional casts of it. The statue has become a symbol for Finnish sport and the independent Finnish nation as well as an envoy of the image of Finland.The order represented the start of the career as a trusted national artist for Aaltonen. He had earlier made a significant local impact in the Turku area. The sculpture order was given to Aaltonen as an "improvement prize" as he was considered the most talented among young sculptors. The sculpture was also the first sculpture representing an athlete to be ordered by the state of Finland.
