Tortue River (L'Islet)

The Tortue River South-West River (in French: rivière Tortue Sud-Ouest) is a tributary of the west bank of the Tortue River, which flows on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, east of the village of L'Islet-sur-Mer.

The Trois Saumons River (in French: Rivière Trois Saumons) is a tributary of the south shore of the St. Lawrence River where it flows to the southwest of the village of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and to the north-east of the village of L'Islet-sur-Mer. The Trois-Saumons river water mill in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli is located upstream of route 132. The Trois Saumons River flows through the municipalities of Saint-Aubert and Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, in the L'Islet Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Chaudière-Appalaches, in Quebec, in Canada.

The Trois-Saumons river water mill in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli was already in operation during the French regime in New France. An 1815 engraving by Joseph Bouchette shows the Aubert de Gaspé mill surrounded by an important industrial establishment: the Harrower distillery. Around 1980, its owner, Mr. Edmond Hudon, then in his eighties, was still operating it, but in slow motion. At the time, this mill was one of the last water mills of Quebec and Canada. The Trois-Saumons River Watermill in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli is located upstream from route 132.

HMCS Bras d'Or (FHE 400) was a hydrofoil that served in the Canadian Forces from 1968 to 1971. During sea trials in 1969, the vessel exceeded 63 knots (117 km/h; 72 mph), making her the fastest unarmed warship in the world at the time. The vessel was originally built from 1960 to 1967 for the Royal Canadian Navy, as a project for the testing of anti-submarine warfare technology on an ocean-going hydrofoil. The RCN was replaced on 1 February 1968 by the unified Canadian Armed Forces, and Bras d'Or was commissioned into that service several months later. Changes in priorities and cost overruns later led to the project's cancellation. Bras d'Or was named in honour of Bras d'Or Lake on Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island, where inventor Alexander Graham Bell performed hydrofoil experiments in the early 20th century near his estate and new laboratory at Beinn Bhreagh, setting the world watercraft speed record in the process. In 1909 the lake was also the historic site of the first flight of an aircraft in Canada and the British Commonwealth; the airplane, named the Silver Dart, was built by the Aerial Experiment Association under Dr. Bell's tutelage. The lake's name was thus fitting for a hydrofoil vessel which could 'fly' above an ocean's surface.

CCGS Ernest Lapointe was a Canadian Coast Guard light icebreaker that served for 37 years. Completed in 1941, Ernest Lapointe was taken out of service in 1978. The ship was active along the East Coast of Canada and in the Saint Lawrence River. In 1980, the vessel was turned into a museum ship in Quebec.

The rivière du Petit Moulin (in English: Little River of the Mill) is a tributary of the south bank of the Tortue River South-West, which flows north-east to empty on the west bank of the Tortue river; the latter flows north and empties onto the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, east of the village of L'Islet-sur-Mer. The Petit Moulin river flows exclusively in the municipality of L'Islet, in the L'Islet Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Chaudière-Appalaches, in Quebec, in Canada.

The Port Joli River (in French: rivière Port Joli) is a tributary of the south shore of the St. Lawrence River where it flows southwest of the village of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and north-east of the village of L'Islet-sur-Mer. The Port Joli river flows through the municipalities of Saint-Damase-de-L'Islet, Sainte-Louise and Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, in the L'Islet Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Chaudière-Appalaches, in Quebec, in Canada.

L'Islet is a municipality within L'Islet Regional County Municipality in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. It is located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River halfway between Quebec City and Rivière-du-Loup. The Musée Maritime du Québec (Quebec Marine Museum) is located there on Route 132.

Saint-Jean-Port-Joli is a village in the Regional County Municipality of L'Islet within the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. It is located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River and is the county seat. The village is located off the Trans-Canada Highway, Autoroute 20. Route 132 passes through the town. It is known for its craftspeople and artists, especially in the fields of wood carving and sculpture. There are also several well-reputed restaurants.

The Île aux Oies (in English: goose island) is an island in the St. Lawrence River, downstream from Île d'Orléans. It is located in the municipality of Saint-Antoine-de-l'Isle-aux-Grues, in the Montmagny Regional County Municipality (MRC), in the administrative region of Chaudière-Appalaches, in Quebec, in Canada.

The Vincelotte River (in French: rivière Vincelotte) is a tributary on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River where it flows east of the village of Cap-Saint-Ignace. This watercourse flows in the municipalities of Saint-Eugène (MRC de L'Islet Regional County Municipality) and Cap-Saint-Ignace, (MRC of Montmagny Regional County Municipality), in the administrative region of Chaudière-Appalaches, in Quebec, in Canada.

Cap-Saint-Ignace is a municipality in the Montmagny Regional County Municipality within the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. It is located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, 70 km east of Quebec City on Route 132. Cap-Saint-Ignace is located on the scenic chemin des Pionniers Ouest, also known as Highway 132, at the Junction of the route du Petit-Cap which is accessible from provincial Autoroute 20, the Autoroute Jean-Lesage. The town's total area is 227 km2 and borders the scenic St. Lawrence River with privileged access to the river and migratory bird sanctuaries.
