Trinidad and Tobago moist forests

The Central Range is a mountain range on the island of Trinidad. It extends diagonally across the island and is a low-lying range rising from swampy areas into rolling hills. The tallest hills in the range are Mount Tamana (307 m), Mount Harris and Brigand Hill; all located in the northeastern portion of the range. The Central Range mountains are biodiverse, and are home to the Tamana Caves - the site of Trinidad's largest bat roost. Howler monkeys can be found here and numerous species of birds as well. There are numerous streams and clean springs that flow from the Central Range. However there are few waterfalls. The most prominent of these falls are the Brasso Venado falls in Brasso Venado, and Gran Couva falls, or Carmelita falls, located in Gran Couva. To the north of the range are the Northern Lowlands (East–West Corridor and Caroni Plain).

The Navet Dam is one of the major reservoirs supplying potable water in Trinidad and Tobago. It is located in Tabaquite, Trinidad and Tobago and is managed by the Water and Sewerage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. The dam was completed in 1962, expanded in 1966 and 1976. It supplies Rio Claro, Tableland, Biche, Princes Town, Williams Ville, Borde Narve. The Navet Dam covers an area of 3.24 km² (800 acres) and has a capacity of 18,200,000 cubic metres (4 Billion imperial gallons). It supplies 86.4 m³ per day.

Tabaquite is a town in central Trinidad, north of Rio Claro and west of the Navet Dam.

Chickland is a village in the foothills of Central Trinidad, north of the world-renowned cocoa growing region Gran Couva and south-east of one of the earliest settlement areas for freed slaves Freeport. One of the featured sites in Chickland was the Ajoupa Pottery, which produced intricate and colourful ceramic pieces, such as tables and vanity vases that appear in hotels and villas throughout T&T and the Caribbean. Other nearby attractions include the Temple in the Sea and Hanuman, the tallest statue of a Hindu deity outside of India, which is located in Waterloo. One of the oldest structures in Chickland is the Chickland RC Primary School, which is still operational. On Saturday evenings, it is quickly converted into a church, with evening mass for the congregation. The population in Chickland is multi-cultural and very diverse. Every major festival and holiday is celebrated. It is a simple village where everyone knows everyone. Many generations of the same families have settled on the surrounding lands, which contributes to the homely atmosphere and spirit of the village life. Farming and gardening is still an integral part of the village life in Chickland. Visitors to Chickland could see the hills being cultivated with corns, vegetables and fruits trees. There a very little evidence of old life of harvesting sugar-cane, cocoa, coffee and tobacco. Goats and cows can be seen roaming freely, even on the roadside.

Carlsen Air Force Base is a former United States Army Air Forces World War II airbase on Trinidad, consisting of two landing strips, "Edinburgh" and "Xeres". The airbase also included an emergency landing strip, "Tobago".

Hardbargain is a village on the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean country Trinidad and Tobago. It is situated on the southern edge of the Central Range. Hardbargain has a Hindu Mandir called the Triveni Mandir aka the Sisters Road Hindu Temple. This establishment has been in existence since the 1960s. The current structure was officially opened in November 2002. The Triveni Mandir offers a forum to learn various aspects of the Hindu culture and tradition, such as Bhajan singing, Indian dance, Indian music, Chowtaal singing, etc. Hardbargain also has a Roman Catholic school. The members of the Hardbargain Village Council are the 2006 first-place winners of The Prime Minister's Best Village Trophy Competition in the Devotional and Chutney singing categories.

Piparo is a village in Central Trinidad on the southern edge of the Central Range. The village has three main claims to fame: Piparo was the base of operations of Dole Chadee (born Nankissoon Boodram), a notorious drug lord who was executed in 1999 for the murder of four members of the Baboolal family. Piparo was the home of Ras Shorty I (born Garfield Blackman) during his self-imposed break from the soca world. Living simply in this rural community Ras Shorty-I developed jamoo, a fusion of soca and gospel music. Piparo was the site of a large mud volcano eruption on February 22, 1997. The eruption covered an area of 2.5 km² and displaced 31 families. The mud volcano now lies active where the eruption took place ( as of October 2019).During the early twentieth century, Piparo was an important cocoa bean producer. The small village is mainly inhabited by people of African and Indian descent. There is a mandir, two mosques, and three churches. Since the eruption in 1997, an alternate road to the village has been established through the village of Guaracara or a detour around the volcanic site through Panchoo trace.

Cunupia is a town in central Trinidad. It is part of the Borough of Chaguanas. Cunupia is just northeast of Chaguanas proper. Like Chaguanas itself, Cunupia has experienced rapid growth in recent years, especially in terms of residential developments.

Piarco is a town in Trinidad and Tobago. It is situated in the north of the island of Trinidad and is the site of the country's main airport, Piarco International Airport.

The Borough of Chaguanas is the largest municipality (83,489 at the 2011 census) and fastest-growing town in Trinidad and Tobago. Located in west-central Trinidad, south of Port of Spain, north of Couva and San Fernando, and named after the indigenous tribe who originally settled there, it grew in size due to its proximity to the Woodford Lodge sugar refinery. It remained a minor town until the 1980s when it began to grow rapidly as it drew people for its bargain shopping and moderately priced housing. Its rapid growth has seen property values increase dramatically, however.Chaguanas became a borough in 1990; prior to that, it was part of Caroni County. The current mayor is Faaiq Mohammed, and the Borough Council has historically been dominated by the United National Congress. Chaguanas has also been a hub for Indo-Trinidadian and Tobagonian culture and even the broader Indo-Caribbean culture.

Freeport is a town in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It is located in west-central Trinidad, and is administered by the Couva–Tabaquite–Talparo Regional Corporation. It has a population of 11,850. The estimated terrain elevation above sea level is 27 metres.

The National Cricket Centre is a cricket ground in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago, located near the Ato Boldon Stadium and the National Cycling Centre.
