Schlee Brewery Historic District

The Born Capital Brewery Bottling Works is a historic building in the Brewery District of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.The three-story building is the only remaining portion of Born Capital Brewery, once one of four German breweries in the area. The building was completed in 1895. It later became a Salvation Army thrift store. The structure was sold for redevelopment in 2007, and added to the National Register for tax credits in 2009. Redevelopment into apartments began around 2011. The $10 million project created 47 apartment units. The exterior was left largely unchanged, and interior beams and walls were kept.

The L. Hoster Brewing Company is set of historic buildings in the Brewery District of Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.The complex is under renovation, expected to be completed in summer 2023. The new development will be called Front & Fulton; it will have restaurant, cafe, bar, office, and apartment spaces.

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is the metropolitan planning organization for Central Ohio, including the state capitol, Columbus. MORPC covers Franklin, Fairfield, Perry, Hocking, Logan, Union, Delaware, Morrow, and Knox counties, including nearly all of their municipalities. The organization also covers the cities of Ashville, Circleville, Chillicothe, and Johnstown.

The American Education Press Building was an office and industrial building in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. It was designed by Richards, McCarty & Bulford in the Streamline Moderne style, with rounded corners, a flat roof, and its exterior and interior walls predominantly made from glass blocks, a new innovation in the 1930s. The building was constructed in 1936 for the American Education Press, and held publishing or printing offices from its completion until its demolition in the 1980s for additional county offices. The building had held county and state offices from the 1950s until its demolition year; toward the end of its life, the building tenants held complaints over space and maintenance issues, while architects and preservationists valued its unique design. The site now holds the 27-story Franklin County Courthouse, completed in 1991.

The Franklin County Government Center is a government complex of Franklin County, Ohio in the city of Columbus. The government center has included several iterations of the Franklin County Courthouse, including a building completed in 1840 and another completed in 1887. Current courthouse functions are spread out between buildings in the complex.

Benjamin Franklin, a 1974 bronze statue of Benjamin Franklin, stands inside the Franklin County Government Center in Columbus, Ohio. The statue was created by James P. Anderson and cast in Pietrasanta, Italy.

Dorrian Commons Park was a park and part of the Franklin County Government Center in downtown Columbus, Ohio, United States. The park opened in 1976 on the site of the second Franklin County Courthouse, built in 1887. Dorrian Commons closed in 2018, pending construction of a new courthouse.

The Franklin County Jail was a county jail building in Columbus, Ohio, administered by the Franklin County government. The building opened in 1889 and was in use until August 1971. At that time, the jail was moved to a new facility, part of the Franklin County Government Center. The 1889 structure was demolished two months later.

Pistacia Vera is a bakery and café in the German Village neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The building contributes to the city-listed and National Register-listed district of the same name. All of the café's foods are made on-site, including its macarons, pâte de fruit, liqueur-spiked preserves, tarts, cookies, croissants, teacakes, and éclairs, including some which are crème brûlée-stuffed. In addition to its French pastries, the café also prepares brunch-style meals (primarily quiches and croque monsieurs accompanied with simple salads. The café is perhaps best known for its colorful dozen of varieties of macarons.The first known commercial use of the property was in 1843 for Greenley Dill's brick-making company. Local clay was used in thirteen brickyards across South Columbus, and the material was in high demand. By 1930, Reiner's Doughnuts relocated to the property after having been operating one block north. The business was owned by German immigrant Gottlieb "George" Reiner, who sold cakes and doughnuts for approximately 44 years. In 1974, the Will Plank family purchased the building and began operating Thurn's Bäckerei (named for Will's in-laws). The business operated for 33 years, closing in 2004. Pistacia Vera was founded in the same year by siblings Spencer Budros and Anne Fletcher, as a stall in North Market, a marketplace and food hall in Downtown Columbus. Around 2006, the business became "Pistachio", operating in the Short North district of Columbus. Around 2007, the owners extensively renovated and moved into the South Third Street bakery building. In 2013, Pistacia Vera reopened a stall in North Market, while continuing to operate the German Village café. In 2018, the owners hired a new beverage manager who had worked in coffee shops across the city and remade the café's beverage program.Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the café closed for several months due to a stay-at-home order; reopening in June 2020 with takeout and curbside delivery. The café's North Market stall remained closed. Also in 2020, its pastry chef and co-owner Spencer Budros was a semifinalist for the Outstanding Baker James Beard Award. In August 2020, amid restaurant and North Market stall closures, the continuing uncertainty around the COVID pandemic led the owners to permanently close its North Market stall.Edible Columbus reviewed its favorite bakeries in 2015, including Pistacia Vera. In 2020, The Columbus Dispatch reviewed the bakery as "top-notch", and opined that "no food-producing outlet in Columbus is better at what it does than Pistacia Vera". In 2022, Columbus Navigator listed the café first in a list of best bakeries in the city. Columbus Monthly's reader poll in 2022 determined most readers to find the café to make the best desserts in the city.

The South High Commercial Historic District is a historic district on High Street in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1987.The district includes 11 contributing commercial buildings, spanning two city blocks. The northern block includes the Great Southern Hotel and Theatre and the Schlee-Kemmler Building, both already individually listed in the Columbus and National Registers. The southern block includes nine commercial buildings from the late 19th century, mostly 2-3 stories in height, featuring a variety of architectural details. The blocks are among the last remaining cohesive streetscapes left in downtown Columbus.
