Wimbledon power station

Gap Road Cemetery or Wimbledon Cemetery is a cemetery located in Wimbledon, London. 20 acres in size, the cemetery was opened in 1876, and contains three chapels, including two disused historical chapels, one for Church of England services and another for Dissenters (Nonconformists).

Plough Lane was a football stadium in Wimbledon, south west London. For nearly eighty years it was the home ground of Wimbledon Football Club, from September 1912 until May 1991, when the club moved their first team home matches to Selhurst Park as part of a groundshare agreement with Crystal Palace. Both clubs' reserve teams then used Plough Lane as their home ground until 1998, when the site was sold to Safeway, who intended to redevelop the site as a supermarket. Whilst site redevelopment plans were negotiated, the stadium remained derelict for several years until it was finally demolished in 2002. When permission for a supermarket was ultimately refused by the local authority, Safeway sold the site and it was eventually developed as a private housing development known as Reynolds Gate, named after former Wimbledon F.C. striker Eddie Reynolds, which was completed in 2008. Plans to build a new stadium for AFC Wimbledon on the nearby site of the Wimbledon Greyhound track, situated approximately 200 yards (183 metres) from the original Plough Lane stadium, were approved by Merton Council in December 2015. Construction on the 'New Plough Lane' began in 2018, and it opened on 3 November 2020.

The Wimbledon Traincare depot is a traction maintenance depot in England operated by South Western Railway. The depot is adjacent to the South West Main Line, located between Wimbledon and Earlsfield stations. The depot is one of the busiest in the country, with an average of 250 carriages maintained there each night.

Wimbledon Stadium, also known as Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium, was a greyhound racing track located in Wimbledon in southwest London, England.It also hosted stock car and other small circuit motor racing events, and until 2005 hosted motorcycle speedway. The stadium hosted the English Greyhound Derby every year between 1985 and 2016. Facing declining attendances and with no renovations undertaken for many years, the stadium was put up for sale by the owners, the Greyhound Racing Association, and closed permanently in March 2017. The site was purchased by Galliard Homes Limited, in order to build 600 new apartments and a new football stadium, the new Plough Lane, for AFC Wimbledon. The stadium was demolished in 2018 to clear the site for the new development; it was one of London's last remaining greyhound stadium with only Crayford and Romford left and was the third to close since the turn of the century after Catford Stadium in 2003 and Walthamstow Stadium in 2008.

Plough Lane – named The Cherry Red Records Stadium for sponsorship reasons – is a football stadium in Wimbledon, south-west London, which has been the home of AFC Wimbledon since 3 November 2020. A groundshare with rugby league side London Broncos was approved in mid-2021.

Christ the King Church is a Roman Catholic Parish church in the Wimbledon Park area of Wimbledon in the London Borough of Merton. It was founded in 1913, and built in 1926 by the Society of Jesus. The architect was Adrian Gilbert Scott.

Haydons Road railway station is in the north-east of the London Borough of Merton in South London. It is the nearest station to the Plough Lane stadium, the home ground of AFC Wimbledon. The station is served by Thameslink trains and by a limited number of Southern services during the morning and evening peak. It is on the Sutton Loop Line and is in Travelcard Zone 3.

The Leather Bottle is a pub at 538 Garratt Lane, Earlsfield, London SW17. It is a Grade II listed building, built in the early 18th century. The introduction to Samuel Foote's play The Mayor of Garratt mentions the pub, describing Earlsfield's mock Garrat Elections of the 18th century as having been founded by "a party of watermen, belonging to Wandsworth, dining at the Leather Bottle".

By The Horns Brewing Co is a British microbrewery based in Summerstown, London and founded by Alex Bull and Chris Mills. There is a brewery tap bar and bottle shop at the same address.

Summerstown is a district of south-west London located on the boundary between the London Borough of Wandsworth and the London Borough of Merton. It is an area on the north eastern edge of Wimbledon, south of Earlsfield, west of Tooting and north of Collier's Wood. The district is bisected by the A217 and bordered by the River Wandle.

Wimbledon Park is a London Underground station in Wimbledon. The station is on the District line and is between Southfields and Wimbledon stations. The station is located on Arthur Road close to the junction with Melrose Avenue close to the eastern side of Wimbledon Park. It is about 200 metres (660 ft) west of Durnsford Road (A218) and is in Travelcard Zone 3.

Shree Ghanapathy Temple, Wimbledon, is a Hindu temple in south-west London, England, that was established in the 1980s. The main deity in the temple is of Lord Ganesha. There are also deities of Goddess Durga (Parvati), Lord Hanuman, Krishna etc. The Sai Mandir was opened in 1981 and is a prayer hall dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It was the first fully consecrated Hindu temple in Europe (1981).During the temple's early years, the realisation came that there was an urgent need to educate the younger generation about Hinduism. Furthermore, the temple wanted the children to fully understand the faith at a deeper level than previously. Therefore, the Sai Mandir has been running classes for many years, teaching the children spiritual education, Sanskrit prayers, how to sing Bhajans (devotional hymns) in addition to learning about other religions too. Voluntary activities take place in affiliation with local authorities and Age Link groups. The temple provides classes dwelling on teachings of Hinduism, music and dance classes, and yoga to name a few.
