Mountain Ash Town Hall

Mountain Ash Urban District was a local authority in Mountain Ash, in the Cynon Valley, Glamorgan, Wales. It was created in 1894 as a result of the 1894 Local Government of England and Wales Act.The Council existed until 1973 and replaced the Mountain Ash Local Board of Health which had functioned since the 1870s. Initially, the Council had fifteen members, but this was increased to eighteen in 1898. The council was based at Mountain Ash Town Hall.

Mountain Ash (Welsh: Aberpennar) is a town and former community in the Cynon Valley, within the County Borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, with a population of 11,230 at the 2011 Census, estimated in 2019 at 11,339. It includes the districts and villages of Cefnpennar, Cwmpennar, Caegarw, Darranlas, Fernhill, Glenboi and Newtown, all within the historic county boundaries of Glamorgan. Aberdare lies about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north-west, Cardiff 19 miles (31 km) south-east, and Penrhiwceiber a mile to the south-east. It divides into two communities (civil parishes): West covers the town centre and the districts of Miskin, Darranlas, Fernhill and Glenboi, and East the districts of Cefnpennar, Cwmpennar, Caegarw and Newtown.

Mountain Ash Railway Station (Welsh: Gorsaf Reilffordd Aberpennar) is a railway station serving the town of Mountain Ash in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is located on the Aberdare branch of the Merthyr Line and on the banks of the Afon Cynon, a major river in the town of Mountain Ash. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales and run to all Valley Lines destinations.

South Wales (Welsh: De Cymru) is a loosely defined region of Wales bordered by England to the east and mid Wales to the north. However the more authoritative style guide by the Welsh Government on their international gateway website, Wales.com, states that it should always be capitalised. It is always capitalised on motorway signs.

Mountain Ash General Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Cyffredinol Mountain Ash) was a health facility on Duffryn Road, Mountain Ash, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It was managed by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

Mountain Ash East is a community and coterminous electoral ward in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It primarily includes the part of the town of Mountain Ash east of the River Cynon. The community was formed in 2016 when the larger community of Mountain Ash was divided into East and West to match the ward boundaries.

Miskin is a village and district of the town of Mountain Ash within the Cynon Valley in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. The Miskin district is part of the community of Penrhiwceiber and, for the purposes of local and national governance, is part of the electoral ward of Penrhiwceiber, along with the district of Perthcelyn. The former St Teilo's church was built c.1890 but since demolished and a meeting room, Miskin Hall, built on its site. As of 2018, Miskin Hall was empty and for sale.
