Stanley Mills

Ryeford railway station served the villages of Ryeford, Kings Stanley and Leonard Stanley in Gloucestershire, England. It was on the 9.3 km-long Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway, later part of the Midland Railway. The station opened with the railway in 1867. It was large for a country station and included a two-storey station-master's house. The single platform at Ryeford was unusually wide. Sidings served a large timber yard and a signalbox was sited at Ryeford when the short branch to Stroud from Dudbridge, the next station towards Nailsworth, opened in 1885. The Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway, along with the rest of the Midland Railway, became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway at the 1923 Grouping. Passenger services were suspended on the line as an economy measure to save fuel in June 1947, and were officially withdrawn from 8 June 1949. Ryeford remained open for goods traffic until 1964, though the signalbox closed in 1958. The line itself closed for goods traffic in 1966. The station buildings at Ryeford have all been demolished and the line of the track is used as the A419 road.

King's Stanley is a village in Gloucestershire, England, situated southwest of the town of Stroud. The village is part of what is known locally as 'The Stanleys', along with its neighbours Leonard Stanley and Stanley Downton. Marling Close, which contains the local playing fields on which the cricket and football teams play, was donated to the village by local magnates The Marlings who also helped found Marling School, and is now in the care of the Marling Trust. The village is overlooked by Selsley common. The village is home to the oldest Baptist Church in Gloucestershire that started meeting in 1640. In the Domesday Book of 1086 it is recorded as held by Turstin FitzRolf.The 12th century parish church of St George is a grade I listed building.The Stanley Mills woollen mill at Ryeford was built in the early 19th century. The principal part of the mill is a Grade I listed building.

Wycliffe College is a public school (co-educational, private, boarding and day school) in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, England, founded in 1882 by G. W. Sibly. It comprises a Nursery School for ages 2–4, a Preparatory School for ages 4–13, and a Senior School for ages 13–18. In total, there are approximately 800 pupils enrolled at the school. The college is set in 60 acres of land. In 2018, The Duchess of Gloucester officially opened a new £6 million boarding house named Ward's-Ivy Grove. The college attracts students from many areas of the world. Wycliffe is a member school of The Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HMC). The Good Schools Guide stated that Wycliffe is "A school which offers a way of life as much as an education...A real gem of a school." The Independent Schools Inspectorate rated Wycliffe as either Excellent in all areas in its most recent inspection (March 2023).

Stonehouse railway station is a railway station that serves the town of Stonehouse in Gloucestershire, England. The station is located on the Swindon-Gloucester "Golden Valley" line.

Leonard Stanley, or Stanley St.Leonard, is a village and parish in Gloucestershire, England, 95 miles (150 km) west of London and 3.5 miles (5.5 km) southwest of the town of Stroud. Situated beneath the Cotswold escarpment overlooking the Severn Vale, the surrounding land is mainly given over to agricultural use. The village is made up of some 600 houses and has an estimated population of 1,545 as of 2019. The hamlet of Stanley Downton lies less than a mile to the north and lies within the parish. In 1970, the village was twinned with the commune of Dozulé in the Calvados region of Normandy, northern France. Originally a Saxon village, a priory dedicated to St. Leonard was founded in c.1130. As the village grew, Leonard Stanley developed into a busy weaving and agricultural centre with inns, a marketplace, and two annual fairs. Whilst agricultural usage continues, in recent years the village has become a dormitory village for the nearby towns and cities. The last village shop and post office closed in the early 2000s.

Stonehouse is a town in the Stroud District of Gloucestershire in southwestern England. The town centre is 2.5 miles east of the M5 motorway, junction 13. Stonehouse railway station has a regular train service to London. The town is situated approximately 9 miles south of Gloucester city centre and 3.5 miles west of central Stroud, though following recent development it is partially contiguous with the Ebley district of Stroud. It includes the sub-villages of Bridgend (to the south) and Ryeford (to the east). Stonehouse's population in 2016 was estimated at over 8,000 residents.

The school has 520 students (as from Jan 2017). Maidenhill School have a capacity of 785 students. The catchment area includes Eastington, Frocester, Leonard Stanley, Standish and Stonehouse, as well as parts of Cainscross, King's Stanley, Hardwicke and Randwick. As a foundation school, Maidenhill is administered by Gloucestershire County Council.

It is a Grade II listed building.Between 1903 and 1964 Ebley Crossing Halt was a railway station on what is now the Golden Valley Line.

Ebley Crossing Halt was opened on 12 October 1903 on what is now the Golden Valley Line between Stroud and Stonehouse. This line was opened in 1845 as the Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway from Swindon to Gloucester and this was one of many small stations and halts built on this line for the local passenger service.
