The Dr. Martin G. Brumbaugh Graded School (Spanish: Escuela de la Comunidad Dr. Martin G. Brumbaugh), located in Santa Isabel Pueblo, Puerto Rico, was built in 1906 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 2011. It is named after 26th Governor of Pennsylvania and educator Martin Grove Brumbaugh. It is located near the town square of Santa Isabel Pueblo. It was deemed significant as "one of the oldest and best kept early twentieth century schools in Puerto Rico", and it was stated that the property retains most of its physical features, its mass, spatial relationship, and proportion and construction materials. The Dr. Martin G. Brumbaugh Graded School is of statewide significance under Criterion C in Architecture as listed in the NRHP as the property represents the early twentieth century methods of construction applied to educational facilities in Puerto Rico, harmonically combining three distinctively construction periods. Just as important, the property is of statewide significance under Criterion A in Social History, as it is one of the best examples in the early stage of the social project undertaken by the United States in Puerto Rico to promote the education combined with the political project of promoting the American values and the acculturation process in every part of Puerto Rico.The school was closed in 2018.

As was customary in Spain, in Puerto Rico, the municipality has a barrio called pueblo which contains a central plaza, the municipal buildings (city hall), and a Catholic church. Fiestas patronales (patron saint festivals) are held in the central plaza every year.

Las Tres Haciendas Waterworks (Spanish: Sistema de riego de las tres haciendas) is an irrigation system located in southern Puerto Rico, in the municipality of Santa Isabel. It consists of a set of structures that were built between 1846 and 1886 by landowners to transport water from the Coamo River to the fields of their sugarcane plantations. Las Tres Haciendas (Spanish for 'the three homesteads') is named refers to the three sugarcane haciendas it serves: El Destino, Florida, and Hacienda Santa Isabel.The waterworks historic district covers an area that spreads through the Santa Isabel barrios of Boca Velázquez, Jauca II, Felicia II, Felicia I, and Santa Isabel Pueblo.

The Coamo River (Spanish: Río Coamo) is a river in southern Puerto Rico. It runs for approximately 24 miles or 38 kilometers through the municipalities of Coamo and Santa Isabel, where it empties into the Caribbean Sea at Coamo Bay in Boca Velázquez. Its source lies in the Cordillera Central, on the Pulguillas ward (barrio).The Coamo River and its coastal wetlands host great egrets and other wildlife throughout the year. The river was dredged and cleaned after damages and flooding caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017. It also contains irrigation dams, such as the Coamo Reservoir Dam in Santa Isabel.

Central Cortada, also known as the Cortada Sugarcane Refinery, was a sugarcane plantation and refinery located in Descalabrado, Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. The area where the refinery is located has been used for the growth and processing of sugarcane since the 18th century.

The Descalabrado River (Spanish: Río Descalabrado) is a river of Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. It also goes through parts of Juana Díaz, and Coamo.Poecilia sphenops, Guppy, and Awaous banana are some of the fish found in Descalabrado River.
