Mount Cardigan

Cardigan Mountain State Park is a 5,655-acre (2,288 ha) public recreation area in Orange, New Hampshire. The state park is free to use, open year-round, and offers a hiking trail up to the 3,121-foot treeless granite summit of Mount Cardigan plus places to picnic.

Orange is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 277 at the 2020 census, down from 331 at the 2010 census.

The Sculptured Rocks Natural Area is a 272-acre (110 ha) geology-oriented nature preserve in Groton, New Hampshire. The natural area's main feature is its namesake, the Sculptured Rocks, which are a series of narrow, sharply carved rock formations that are a popular local swimming hole. They are located on the Cockermouth River, which is the longest tributary of Newfound Lake. The Sculptured Rocks Road, which runs along this same river, shares its namesake with the park.

The Canaan Motor Club (CMC) is a race track in Canaan, New Hampshire, in the United States. The CMC is a 1.3-mile-long (2.1 km) technically challenging road course with extensive runoff areas to promote a safe environment for all track users. The track may be run in both directions to give a total of 2.6 miles (4.2 km) with nine major turns. The track may be configured to run two separate events at the same time.

Groton is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 569 at the 2020 census.

Ruggles Mine is an open-pit mine that was turned into a tourist attraction. It was closed but was sold multiple times and reopened in 2024. The mine is located 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Concord, New Hampshire, in the town of Grafton, a short distance from Route 4 at the village green. The spacious pit includes tunnels and underground chambers, some of which are filled with water. Visitors are allowed to keep any of the various minerals that they find on the mine floor or that can be hammered loose from the walls of the pit.

Canaan is a census-designated place (CDP) and the main village in the town of Canaan, New Hampshire, United States. The population of the CDP was 442 at the 2020 census, out of 3,794 in the entire town.

The Noyes Academy was a racially integrated school, which also admitted women, founded by New England abolitionists in 1835 in Canaan, New Hampshire, near Dartmouth College, whose then-abolitionist president, Nathan Lord, was "the only seated New England college president willing to admit black students to his college". The school was unpopular with many local residents who opposed having blacks in the town. After some months, several hundred white men of Canaan and neighboring towns demolished the academy. They replaced it with Canaan Union Academy, restricted to whites.

Hebron is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 632 at the 2020 census. Settlements include the town center and the village of East Hebron.

The Hebron Village Historic District encompasses the heart of the small town of Hebron, New Hampshire. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Multiple buildings of the district were added to the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Canaan Street Lake is a 291-acre (118 ha) water body located in Grafton County in western New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Canaan. It is part of the Mascoma River watershed, a tributary of the Connecticut River. A peninsula on the north side of the lake is occupied by the Cardigan Mountain School. The west side of the lake is bordered by the Canaan Street Historic District.

Alexandria is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 1,776 at the 2020 census, up from 1,613 at the 2010 census. Newfound Lake is in the northeast corner, with Wellington State Park on the western shore. The town is home to Welton Falls State Forest. Cardigan Mountain State Park, with Mount Cardigan, is in the west. Another attraction is Mowglis Mountain, named for Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book hero.
