The Eisack (German: Eisack, pronounced [ˈaɪ̯zak] (listen); Italian: Isarco [iˈzarko]; Latin: Isarus or Isarcus) is a river in Northern Italy, the second largest river in South Tyrol. Its source is near the Brenner Pass, at an altitude of about 1990 m above sea level. The river draws water from an area of about 4,200 km². After about 96 km, it joins the Adige river south of Bolzano. At first the river flows through the Wipptal and after the village of Vahrn through the Eisacktal. Its source is sung of in the Bozner Bergsteigerlied as the northern frontier of the South Tyrolean homeland. The major towns and villages along the course of the river are Sterzing, Franzensfeste, Brixen, Klausen, Waidbruck and finally the capital city of the province. In Brixen it merges with the Rienz. Several smaller creeks are tributaries, including the Ridnauner Bach, the Pflerscher Bach, the Pfitscher Bach, the Villnößer Bach, the Derjon, the Braibach (also known as Tierser Bach), the Eggentaler Bach and the Talfer flowing from Sarntal. The Eisack is used extensively for the production of electricity; it is dammed near Franzensfeste, Klausen and Waidbruck.

Vadena (Italian pronunciation: [ˈvaːdena]; German: Pfatten [ˈpfatn̩]) is a comune (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about 10 kilometres (6 mi) southwest of the city of Bolzano. It is one of only five mainly Italian speaking municipalities in South Tyrol.

Bronzolo (Italian pronunciation: [bronˈdzɔːlo]; German: Branzoll [branˈtsɔl]) is a comune (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about 11 kilometres (7 mi) south of the city of Bolzano. It is one of only five mainly Italian speaking municipalities in South Tyrol.

PalaOnda or Eiswelle, called Sparkasse Arena since 2022 for sponsorship reasons, is an indoor sports arena in Bolzano, Italy. It was built to host the 1994 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships along with Forum di Assago and has a capacity of 7,200. It is the home arena of several ice hockey teams, including HC Bolzano of the ICE Hockey League and the EVB Eagles Südtirol of the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL). The arena also hosted the 1998 European Handball Championships and the 2010–11 CEV Champions League final four.

Überetsch-Unterland (Italian: Oltradige-Bassa Atesina [olˈtraːdidʒe bass ateˈziːna]; German: Überetsch-Unterland) is a district (Italian: comprensorio; German: Bezirksgemeinschaft) in the southern part of the Italian province of South Tyrol. It comprises the valley of the Adige river from Bolzano in the north to Salorno in the south.

Bolzano was a transit camp operated by Nazi Germany in Bolzano from 1944 to 3 May 1945 during World War II. It was one of the largest Nazi Lager on Italian soil, along with those of Fossoli, Borgo San Dalmazzo and Trieste.

Sigmundskron Castle (German: Schloss Sigmundskron, Italian: Castel Firmiano) is an extensive castle and set of fortifications near Bolzano in South Tyrol. Today its ruins house the fourth mountain museum established by the South Tyrolean mountaineer, Reinhold Messner. On 9 June 2006 the MMM (Messner Mountain Museum Firmian) was opened in this fortified castle dating to the Late Middle Ages.

Stadio Druso (German: Drusus-Stadion) is an arena in Bolzano, Italy. It is primarily used for football, and is the home to F.C. Südtirol and (until 2015) to F.C. Bolzano 1996.

An der Etsch und im Gebirge (German for 'On the Etsch and in the Mountains') was a bailiwick (Ballei) of the Teutonic Order, created about 1260 and headquartered in Bolzano (Bozen), now in the Italian province of South Tyrol, comprising several commandries in the former County of Tyrol and the adjacent Bishopric of Trent. One of the Teutonic provinces within the Holy Roman Empire, An der Etsch held the feudal status of Imperial immediacy as a registered Imperial State. Its commandries were subordinate to a Landkomtur (commendator provincialis), who himself was answerable to the Deutschmeister commander of all bailiwicks in Germany and Italy, at times directly to the Grand Master.

The Talfer (German pronunciation: [ˈtalfɐ] (listen); Italian: Talvera) is a river located in South Tyrol, Italy. It flows into the Eisack in Bolzano.
