Birkelunden (lit. 'The Birch Grove') is a park placed centrally in the Grünerløkka borough of Oslo, Norway. It is formed as a rectangle, more or less like a city block.

Sagene Bryggeri is a microbrewery at Sagene in Oslo, Norway. The brewery was established in 2013, in central Oslo on the banks of Akerselva. The brewery is located in venerable premises in the former Hjula Veveri, that once housed weavers that created woven fabrics for the population of Oslo. Arendals Bryggeri creates the beer recipes for distribution to the Norwegian grocery market. Because Sagene Bryggeri wants a wide distribution of its products all over Norway, they have entered into a collaboration with the Rema 1000 store chain, as well as the Vinmonopolet, bars and restaurants. The beer is bottled on both bottles and beverage cans.

Torshov is a neighborhood north of Grünerløkka and Lilleborg in the borough Sagene in Oslo, Norway. Oslo Tramway (Trikken i Oslo) provides connections with lines running between Majorstuen and Kjelsås. Vogts gate serves as the main street of the neighborhood. Along Vogts gate are several coffee shops, restaurants and cafes. The Torshov public school was built in 1878. Torshov was separated from Sagene as a separate congregation in 1930. The local sports club is Skeid Fotball.

Lilleborg Church is a church in Oslo, Norway.The church was designed by architect Harald Hille and was consecrated by the bishop in 1966. There are 410 seats in the church room itself and 216 in the adjoining parish hall. The material is concrete and brick, and the church ship itself has a rectangular shape and steep eaves.The altarpiece, with the motif "Christ and the world", is painted by Olav Strømme. Stained glass on the baptismal font and on the long wall are created by Finn Christensen. There is also a stained glass window by Kjell Pahr-Iversen. The pulpit and baptismal font are in concrete and designed by the architect, and the baptismal dish is in glass from Hadeland Glassverk.The church organ is from 1981 and was reviewed in 2012. The bell tower is close to the church and has three church bells.The church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Paulus Church (Norwegian: Paulus kirke; tr. Paul's Church or St. Paul's Church) is a church which was consecrated in 1892, located in Grünerløkka in Oslo, Norway, just opposite the Birkelunden Park. The church is made of brick with a weak front running cross-arms and has about 500 seats. It is inspired by German Gothic style and has a high narrow tower above the entrance, which faces east. Paul's Church was designed by the architect Henrik Bull in 1889, and restoration of the church were made in 1917-18 and in 1972.The Church's altarpiece is in the brown-stained pine with gold trim and divided into three. It is adorned with trumpet angels by Jo Visdalen and two altar paintings by Christen Brun. Between the two paintings are a Christ Figure in plaster made by the sculptor Gunnar Olsen Alvær in 1894.The church organ at Paulus Church was designed by the German organ maker Albert Hollenbach to the church's consecration in 1892. The organ underwent an expansion in 1943.

Myrens Verksted is an industrial area in Norway on the east side of the Akerselva river, situated between the bridges Bentsebrua and Vøyenbrua in the southwest part of Torshov, in what is today the Sagene Borough of Oslo. Production started in this area in 1854 based on Øvre Foss Mekaniske verksted established in 1848 by the brothers Jens and Andreas Jensen. In 1855, their brother-in-law Knut Dahl joined as partner. Their main production focused on industrial machinery and tools for rolling mills and sawmills, utilizing the river as source for power in the production. Myrens Verksted became one of the leading and largest industrial companies in Norway with more than 1,000 employees in 1909. The company was acquired by Kværner Brug (now a part of Aker ASA) in 1928. The production naturally developed into supplying the pulp and paper industry. At one point, 85% of their production was exported. Industrial production was terminated in 1988 and moved to the Kværner Eureka location in Lier. The area and its building were sold to what is now Myren Eiendom, and developed into a small cluster for knowledge-based businesses in broadcasting, television production and advertising. The area also contains several apartment buildings.

Dælenenga idrettspark is a sports facility located at Grünerløkka in Oslo, Norway. It consists of an artificial turf football pitch, a club house and an indoor ice rink—Grünerhallen. The facilities are owned by the Municipality of Oslo and used and operated by Grüner IL, the local sports club. The venue opened in 1916 and was originally used for football, athletics and speed skating. The club house was completed in 1928 and has since been used for martial arts. From 1929, a velodrome course was installed, which remained in use until 1940. During the 1930s, the venue was the main Oslo stadium for the Workers' Sports Federation (AIF). A speedway course was installed in 1947 and remained in use until 1968. The venue featured eight ice hockey matches and two bandy matches during the 1952 Winter Olympics. Artificial ice was laid in 1985 and the skating hall opened in 1995, two years before the artificial turf was laid.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was the 55th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Oslo, Norway, following the country's victory at the 2009 contest with the song "Fairytale" by Alexander Rybak. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK), the contest was held at the Telenor Arena, and consisted of two semi-finals on 25 and 27 May, and a final on 29 May 2010, tying with the 1999 edition for the contest hosted the latest. The three live shows were presented by Norwegian television presenters Erik Solbakken and Nadia Hasnaoui and singer Haddy N'jie.Thirty-nine countries took part in the contest, with Georgia returning after its one-year absence. Meanwhile, Andorra, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Montenegro all decided against participation, mainly for reasons related to the 2007–2008 financial crisis. Lithuania originally announced its non-participation, but was later among the participants confirmed by the EBU.The winner was Germany with the song "Satellite", performed by Lena and written by Julie Frost and John Gordon. This was Germany's second victory in the contest, following their win in 1982, and their first win as a unified country. It was also the first win for one of the "Big Four" countries since the rule's introduction in 2000. Turkey, Romania, Denmark and Azerbaijan rounded out the top five. Romania, finishing third, equalled their best result from 2005, while further down the table, Georgia achieved their best result to date, finishing ninth. For the first time since the introduction of semi-finals in 2004, Sweden failed to qualify for the final. The last time Sweden was absent from a Eurovision final was in 1976. The global financial crisis at the time affected how the event was run; the host broadcaster NRK was forced to sell its broadcast rights for the 2010 FIFA World Cup to TV 2 and Viasat in order to finance the event.Prior to the contest, the EBU announced that the voting system used in the semi-finals would change from previous years to balance jury voting with televoting. A return of accompaniment by orchestra was also proposed, but ultimately did not occur.

Parkteatret is a theater located at Olaf Ryes plass 11, Grünerløkka in Oslo, Norway. It was established in 1907 as a cinema originally by the name "Kristiania Bryggeri Grünerløkkens Kinematograf". Parkteatret is renowned as an urban cultural heritage. In November 2007, Parkteatret was awarded the Olavsrosa seal of quality by the foundation Norsk Kulturarv.
