Tanners Creek

The Donald Barger House, at 2972 Front St., at the corner of Main St., in Petersburg, Boone County, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.It was deemed significant "as a good and particularly well-preserved representative of approximately a dozen hall-parlor cottages in Petersburg, and of the ten hall-parlor houses surveyed in the rest of Boone County."

The Boone County Distillery Superintendent's House and Guest House is a historic house located in Petersburg, Kentucky. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The building was planned with four apartments, two up and two down. The two first-floor units have shed roofed kitchens, lacking on the second floor. This is a rare surviving example of a 19th-century multiple residence structure in Boone County. The Boone County Distillery was a major local industry between the American Civil War and 1916, consisting at the time of the 1883 atlas of approximately 25 buildings, most of which have been demolished. The only other known distillery located in Boone County was in the Ohio River town of Hamilton, and none of the buildings associated with that distillery remain.

The Farmers Bank of Petersburg is a historic building in Petersburg, Kentucky; it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 6, 1989. The building is an excellent example of vernacular commercial architecture of the early 20th century (1900–1930).Farmers Bank of Petersburg was founded in 1903 and closed in 1970. It was the fourth bank organized in Boone County, after Burlington, Walton, and Hebron, and was the only bank serving the western portion of Boone County.

Christian Meeting House (Petersburg Christian Church) is a historic church meeting house at 6561 Tanner Street in Petersburg, Kentucky. The original congregation was organized in 1824 by Alexander Campbell from Virginia. The structure was built in 1840 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.The architecture reflects the shift in styles from the classical Greek Revival to the more romantic or picturesque forms prevalent in Boone County during the period 1835–1890. Stylistic modifications to the building made in the 1870s include grouped brackets at the eaves, a decorative gable-peak of Gothic origins, and a louvered bell tower with pilasters and a concave-pyramidal peak.

Tanner's Creek Generating Station (also spelled Tanners Creek) was a major, 1000-MWe coal-fired electrical power plant in Indiana. Located on the north bank of Ohio River along Tanners Creek, it was one of the two coal-fired power stations within 3 miles (5 km) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, near the tripoint of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky (the other plant being the Miami Fort Power Station in the neighboring Ohio). The former plant is situated directly across the Ohio river from Petersburg, Boone County, Kentucky. Tanner's Creek was one of the two Indiana coal power plants owned by Indiana Michigan Power, a subsidiary of American Electric Power (the other plant being Rockport Generating Station near Rockport, Indiana). On March 17, 2015, Indiana Michigan Power announced that the Tanners Creek plant would be completely shut down by May 31, 2015. The former plant was sold to St. Louis–based Commercial Development Company in October 2016. The Port of Indiana commission is studying converting the former plant into the state's fourth port.

The John Tanner House is a stone house located in Petersburg, Kentucky, United States, built around 1810. It is the oldest stone house existing in Boone County. It is located on Route 20 East. It was built by John Tanner, the first Baptist preacher in Kentucky, who founded the community, originally called Tanner's Station, which became Petersburg in 1814.

Prospect Farm was built by steamboat captain J. C. Jenkins on a hill overlooking Petersburg, Kentucky. Jenkins was born in Orange County, Virginia and moved to Boone County in 1832. He invested in the Boone County Distilling Company and also raised cattle on the 1,200 acres then comprising Prospect Farm.The house includes a three-stage tower in three different styles; a two-story, semi-octagonal facade bay; and two-tier side porches. It was built in 1857 and an addition was completed in 1860. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Statement of Significance "The house is significant under criterion C as an excellent example of the Italianate style, significant to Boone County in the period 1855-1910, and as an excellent (and only) example of the Italian Villa style, which used Italianate elements but featured a tower. The house is also an excellent local example of the broad trend in 19th century architecture of eclectic mixing of picturesque styles and forms. The property is also significant under criterion A as a good example of a large farm in Boone County in the period 1855-1938."

Daniel S. Major House is a historic home located at Lawrenceburg, Indiana. It was built between 1857 and 1860, and is a two-story, rectangular, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has an ashlar stone foundation, low hipped roof, polygonal bay windows, and a two-story service wing. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Vance-Tousey House is a historic home located at Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, Indiana. It was built about 1818, and is a two-story, five-bay, Late Georgian / Federal style brick and sandstone dwelling with a low hipped roof. The main block is flanked by 1+1⁄2-story wings. Flanking the main entrance are fluted Doric order engaged columns above which is a Palladian window. It was built by Samuel C. Vance, founder of the town of Lawrenceburg. It houses the Dearborn County Historical Society.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
