Lower Benefield

Benefield Castle was sited in the village of Lower Benefield, between the towns of Corby and Oundle in Northamptonshire at grid reference SP987884.

Benefield is a civil parish in North Northamptonshire, England, along the A427 road and about 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Corby and 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Oundle.

Upper Benefield is a linear village along the A427 road in the North Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Benefield. It is around 10 km (6 miles) east of Corby. The village's name means 'Bera's people's open land'.

Banhaw, Spring and Blackthorn's Woods is a 123.4-hectare (305-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Corby in Northamptonshire.These woods are one of the largest remnants of the ancient Royal Forest of Rockingham. They are mainly ash and pedunculate oak on wet calcareous clay soils. The ground flora is diverse, and there are grasses such as tufted hair-grass, rough meadow-grass and wood melick.There is access to Banhaw Wood by a footpath from Lower Benefield.

Lyveden New Bield (sometimes called New Build) is an unfinished Elizabethan summer house in the parish of Aldwincle in North Northamptonshire, England, owned by the National Trust. It is a Grade I listed building, classing it as a 'building of exceptional interest.'

Royal Air Force Deenethorpe or more simply RAF Deenethorpe is a former Royal Air Force station located 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Corby, Northamptonshire, England. It has one remaining tarmac runway at 1200m (3937ft) long.

Sudborough Green Lodge Meadows is a 13.6-hectare (34-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest Northamptonshire. This is a 'key site' as defined by A Nature Conservation Review, although it is not listed in the book as it was first designated after its publication in 1977.This site consists of two hay meadows, one of which is agriculturally unimproved and has large areas of medieval ridge and furrow. An experiment in trying to create attractive grasslands in the other field has potential for scientific research. Ponds, scrub, willow trees, hedgerows and wild pear trees add to the ecological value.The site is private land with no public access.

Deenethorpe is a village and civil parish in North Northamptonshire, England. It is situated north-east of Corby and near the A43 road between Corby and Stamford. Nearby villages are Deene located 1.9 miles (3.1 km) to the North-West, Bulwick 1.9 miles (3.1 km) and Upper Benefield 2.5 miles (4.0 km) South-East to Deenethorpe. In the early 1870s, Deenethorpe was described as: "Deenethorpe parish, Northampton; 1 mile SSE of Deene village. Real property, £1, 942. Houses, 48." The population of Deenethorpe in the 1881 census was just over 200. Since then, there was a decline in the first half of the 20th century, as shown by the total population graph, where it reached a low of around 60 people. In 1960 the population increased and at the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 103 people and according to the 2011 census the population is currently at 133. The pre-dominant age group living in Deenethorpe is middle-age as there are 48 people aged between 45 and 59.The 600 acres (240 ha) Deenethorpe airfield is one of the sites that has been approved for a "garden village" in 2017. The plans include a village green, shops and community hall, as well as more than 1,000 homes.

It has a rich and varied landscape, with farmland, open pasture, pockets of woodland and villages built from local stone.

Weldon Park is a 51.7-hectare (128-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Weldon in Northamptonshire.This ancient woodland is mainly ash, maple and hazel. It has diverse flora, especially on grassland rides, and unusual plants on the wettest soils. Insects include the uncommon purple emperor butterfly.

Bulwick Meadows is a 4.2-hectare (10-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Bulwick, north-east of Corby in Northamptonshire.These marshy meadows are in the flood plain of the Willow Brook. There are diverse wetland flora, including rare species, and it is the only known locality in the county for the flat-sedge Blysmus compressus and common bistort. It is also one of the very few sites in the county where snipe breed.Main Road in Bulwick bisects the site, and Willow Brook runs along its eastern boundary. There is no public access to the southern part, but a footpath runs through the northern one.

St Peter's Church is an Anglican church in the village of Deene, Northamptonshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of The Churches Conservation Trust and East Northamptonshire Council.
