Lodi, Lombardy

The province of Lodi (Italian: provincia di Lodi; Ludesan: pruincia de Lod) is a province in the Lombardy region of Italy. Its provincial capital is the city of Lodi. As of 2017, it has a population of 229,541 inhabitants over an area of c. 783 square kilometres (300 sq mi), giving the province a population density of 293.2 inhabitants per square kilometre. The provincial president is Francesco Passerini.

Pieve Fissiraga (Lodigiano: Pieu) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Lodi in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of Milan and about 10 kilometres (6 mi) south of Lodi. Pieve Fissiraga borders the following municipalities: Lodi, Lodi Vecchio, Cornegliano Laudense, Borgo San Giovanni, Massalengo, Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, Villanova del Sillaro.

The Diocese of Lodi (Latin: Dioecesis Laudensis) is an Italian Roman Catholic territorial entity that existed since the 4th century; it is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Milan.

The Tempio Civico della Beata Vergine Incoronata is a Catholic church in Lodi, Lombardy, Italy. It is considered one of the masterworks of the Lombard Renaissance art. The church was designed in 1488 by Giovanni Battagio (a pupil of Bramante), continued by Gian Giacomo Dolcebuono and finished by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, and built at expenses of the Lodi commune, whence the denomination "Civico" ("Municipal"), on the site previously occupied by a brothel.

Lodi Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Lodi, Basilica Cattedrale della Vergine Assunta) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Lodi, Lombardy, Italy. It is also a basilica minor. Dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, it is the seat of the Bishop of Lodi. It is one of the largest churches in northern Italy.

The Biblioteca Laudense is the main public library (Biblioteca Comunale) located on Via Solferino #72, in the town of Lodi, in the region of Lombardy, Italy. The library is in the Palazzo San Filippo, once housing the convent and chapel of the Oratorians. It now houses the library and a Civic Museum of Lodi.

Santa Maria Maddalena, also called the Chiesa della Maddalena, is a late Baroque-style Roman Catholic church located on via Maddalena in central Lodi, Lombardy, Italy.

San Lorenzo is a Romanesque-style, Roman Catholic church located in Lodi, region of Lombardy, Italy. Construction of the church began by 1159. The brick facade has two pilasters and a central round window (oculus), above which is an aedicule with a statue of St Lawrence. The cornice has a false arcade. The apse has 16th-century stucco decorations by Abbondio da Ascona; the hemicycle of the apse has a fresco of a Resurrected Christ by Callisto Piazza.

The Visconti Castle of Lodi is a historical building in Lodi, Lombardy, northern Italy. As it appears today, it is the result of transformations made on a Middle Age castle founded in the 12th century by Frederick Barbarossa. Its name derives from the Visconti family, lords and dukes of Milan, who in the 13th and 14th centuries took possession of and then rebuilt the original fortification.

The Church of Sant'Agnese is a Gothic-style, Augustinian church in Lodi, Lombardy, a region of Italy. The church was expanded in 1393 by Bonifacio Bottigella when he became Bishop of Lodi. Bottigella oversaw the diocese until 1404. The church has been celebrated as representing a great moment in Lombard Gothic Architecture. The polygonal apse and two-tiered bell-tower are similar to that of the Lodi Cathedral.

Lodi railway station (Italian: Stazione di Lodi) serves the city and comune of Lodi, in the region of Lombardy, northern Italy. Launched 1861, it lies along the Milan–Bologna railway. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services are operated by Trenitalia, Trenitalia TPER (Emilia Romagna) and Trenord. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company.
