Central Michigan

McGuirk Arena, previously known as the Daniel P. Rose Center and Rose Arena, is a multi-purpose arena, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, United States. The arena opened in 1973 and is part of a larger facility known as the CMU Events Center. The arena is home to the Central Michigan University Chippewas men's and women's basketball, women's gymnastics, women's volleyball, and men's wrestling teams.

WMHW-FM, "The Mountain 91.5," is the student-operated college radio station for Central Michigan University, located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The call letters stand for "Wilbur Moore Hall Wireless", a reference to the station's studios being located in Wilbur Moore Hall on the CMU campus. The station is under the auspices of CMU's College of Communication and Fine Arts, and is operated by students from the School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. The station changed from Modern Rock Radio 91.5 to Moore Rock Radio 91.5 on October 1, 2012. The biggest change is the inclusion of more mainstream rock music to their song selection. WMHW is the flagship station for CMU Women's Basketball, and Mt. Pleasant High School Football. WMHW Sports also covers select CMU Softball and CMU Baseball games and CMU Volleyball home games. In 2006, the Federal Communications Commission granted WMHW a power increase, slated to increase the station's signal from 340 watts to 13,000 watts. In addition, a new 450-foot transmitter tower was constructed, replacing the old 118-foot tower. The upgrade took place on September 28, 2007 at 11 am when CMU President Michael Rao gave the order to flip the switch to go to 13,000 watts. WMHW now reaches Frankenmuth to the east, Big Rapids to the west, Cadillac to the north, St. Johns to the south and all points in between. As of 2008, the radio station began broadcasting an HD Radio signal; HD1 is the same format as the original station, while HD2 was originally a blend of metal, hip-hop, and indie but has since switched to an Adult Alternative format known as "The Mountain." WMHW's HD2 signal is simulcast on translator W266BU 101.1 MHz in Mount Pleasant. As of April 26, 2010, both 91.5 and 101.1 are being run by Operations Manager Chad Roberts. On February 15, 2016 WMHW changed their format to adult alternative as "The Mountain", which moved from HD2, which switched to rhythmic contemporary.branded as "The Beat ".

Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium is an American football stadium in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It serves as the home field for the Central Michigan University Chippewas. The stadium opened in 1972 and holds 30,255 spectators, making it the largest on-campus stadium in the Mid-American Conference. It is located on the southeast part of campus, along with most of the other athletic facilities. The playing surface is named Kramer/Deromedi Field after former coaches Roy Kramer and Herb Deromedi.

Bill Theunissen Stadium is a baseball venue in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, United States. It is home to the Central Michigan Chippewas baseball team of the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference. The venue has a capacity of 2,046 spectators and opened in 2002. It is named after Bill Theunissen, former Central Michigan baseball coach, who led the Chippewas to a 151-114-1 record during his tenure (1953–1962).

The Central Michigan University Libraries consists of the two libraries (the University Library and the Clarke Historical Library) which support Central Michigan University, a public university in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The CMU Libraries meets the research, information, and study needs of the students, faculty, and staff of the university, as well as researchers outside the university community. The library building is named after Charles V. Park, who was the library director at CMU from 1931 through 1957.

Central Michigan University (CMU) is a public research university in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It was established in 1892 as the Central Michigan Normal School and Business Institute as a private normal school. After the Michigan State Board of Education took over governance of the school it became a state institution and was renamed Central State Normal School in 1895. The institution became a full university and gained its current name Central Michigan University in 1959 under the university's 6th president Judson W. Foust. CMU is one of the eight research universities in Michigan and is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". It has more than 15,000 students on its Mount Pleasant campus. CMU offers 200 academic programs at the undergraduate, masters, specialist, and doctoral levels, including programs in entrepreneurship, journalism, music, audiology, teacher education, psychology, and physician assistant. The School of Engineering and Technology has ABET accredited programs in mechanical, electrical, computer, and environmental engineering. CMU's College of Medicine opened in fall 2013.The Central Michigan Chippewas compete in the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference in six men's and ten women's sports.

WCMU-FM (89.5 FM) is a public radio station in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The station, owned by Central Michigan University, is a National Public Radio member station, airing a news/talk format along with a variety of other programming. It is the flagship station of a network called WCMU Public Radio made up of six other affiliate stations in Northern Michigan.

WQOS-LP (98.9 FM, "98.9 The Pit") was a radio station formerly licensed to serve Mount Pleasant, Michigan, United States. It aired a Classic rock music format. The station was owned by Children Saving Children Services.The station was assigned the WQOS-LP call letters by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on January 9, 2004.The station's license expired on October 1, 2012. On October 5, 2012, the FCC cancelled the station's license and deleted the WQOS-LP call sign from its database.

Mount Pleasant High School (MPHS) is a public high school in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, United States. It is part of the Mount Pleasant Public Schools district.

Mount Pleasant is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. The city is the county seat of Isabella County, which is part of Central Michigan. The population of Mount Pleasant was 21,688 as of the 2020 census. The city is surrounded by Union Charter Township, but is politically independent. Part of the city (with a population of 8,741) is located within the Isabella Indian Reservation, the base of the federally recognized Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Nation. The tribe's Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in nearby Chippewa Township is also within the reservation boundaries. Mount Pleasant is home to the main campuses of Central Michigan University, one of the largest universities in the state with 20,000 students at Mount Pleasant, and Mid Michigan Community College. The student population nearly doubles the population of the city during the academic year, making it a college town. Despite its name, the surrounding area is mostly flat and does not feature any mountains or hills.

St. John's Episcopal Church is a historic church at 206 W. Maple Street in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It was built in 1882 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. St. John’s Episcopal Church is a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Michigan and the Episcopal Church (United States). Originally begun as a mission in 1876, the church was built in 1882. It is the oldest existing Mount Pleasant church building that is still used for worship today.

The Sweeney House is a Michigan State Historic Site that was built in 1888 by Frank S. Sweeney.
