Holy Trinity Church is an Episcopalian church building in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is located on Kilbride Road, southwest of the town centre. Constructed in the Gothic revival style, it is a Category B listed building.The church was built in 1850 by John Henderson. It was extended to the west in 1896 by Alexander Ross. Its bell was cast by John Warner & Sons.Its current rector is Revd. David Railton.

Bishop's Glen Reservoir also known as Dunoon Reservoir used to be the source for drinking water for the town of Dunoon on the Cowal peninsula, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, a function now satisfied via Loch Eck. Records show that this impounding reservoir was created before 1880. The Balgaidh Burn is the main inflow and outflow. The angling of the Bishops Glen Reservoir is managed by the Dunoon and District Angling Club.

St John's Church, formerly Dunoon Free Church, is a Presbyterian church building in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. A Category A listed structure, it is located in the town centre at the junction between Hanover Street and Victoria Road. The church is still in daily use.

Dunoon Burgh Hall is a municipal structure in Argyll Street, Dunoon, Scotland. The structure, which is used as an events venue, is a Category B listed building.

St Cuthbert's Church (formerly the United Presbyterian Church) was a church building in the Scottish town of Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was built in 1874, to a design by noted architect Robert Alexander Bryden, who also designed the adjacent Dunoon Burgh Hall around the same time. The church stood for 120 years, before being demolished in 1994. A block of flats, erected in 2016, now stands on the site at 191 Argyll Street. A planning application was first made for a similar construction in 1998.

Dunoon Cemetery is a cemetery in Dunoon, Scotland. It is accessed either by Hamilton Road or by Bogleha' Road. The original section of the cemetery is 1.78 acres (0.72 ha), while its extension is 1.57 acres (0.64 ha). As of 2003, the cemetery, which is owned by Argyll and Bute Council, contained 3,546 gravestones, with the earliest dating to 1857. On 30 May 1943, HMS Untamed sank during a training exercise in the Firth of Clyde with the loss of all 35 of her crew. All of the dead, including 23-year-old lieutenant John Priestly Duncan, were buried in Dunoon Cemetery, while the war memorial in nearby Sandbank is partly dedicated to them.

Dunoon Primary School is a school in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is located in a Category B listed building dating from 1901.The site was the original 1641 location of Dunoon Grammar School, now on Ardenslate Road. The building's architect was Lochgilphead native William Fraser, who was asked to design an extension to an earlier infants' school building (designed in 1880 by Robert Alexander Bryden and which burned down in 1958). 1907 additions were done by Boston, Menzies and Morton. The gymnasium wing was added by Robert Cameron in 1934.There is evidence of an episcopal seat at Dunoon from the latter part of the 15th century. No remains of the Bishop's Palace now exist, with the site now occupied by the playground of the school.

Laudervale was a Victorian sandstone mansion near Dunoon, Scotland, most notable for being the home of Sir Harry Lauder.The house was located on Bullwood Road, a few hundred metres south of Bullwood. Built as Gerhallow House, it was bought by Harry Lauder and his wife from Douglas Granville Gossling on 20 May 1908. The couple disliked the existing name and by 1912 had renamed it to the more personalised Laudervale, carrying out in the intervening years a full restoration, including laying "beautiful mahogany parquet floors", the wood being a present after a tour of the Philippines. Lauder used the property as his principal residence from 1908 into the 1930s.After its sale, many years later, the subsequent owner fell asleep smoking, setting the house on fire, which burnt over half of it. It remained in a ruinous state until the 1980s when the house, the stable blocks, and the stone walls surrounding the park, were demolished. Most of the grounds were subsequently sold for housing development. The development there today preserves the Laudervale name.

Dunoon Sheriff Court is a judicial building on George Street in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute in Scotland. The building, which continues to be used as a courthouse, is a Category C listed building.

The Dunoon massacre was a massacre that took place around Dunoon on the Cowal Peninsula, Scotland, on 3 June 1646. Men of the powerful Clan Campbell massacred men, women and children of the Clan Lamont.By 1646, the Clan Campbell, neighbours of the Clan Lamont, had steadily encroached the Lamont's lands. After the 1645 Battle of Inverlochy near Fort William, the Clan Lamont took the opportunity to lay waste to the Campbell's territory. The following year, the powerful Clan Campbell army invaded the Clan Lamont lands, taking their castles of Toward on Cowal and Asgog on the banks of Loch Asgog on South West Cowal. At Castle Toward the Campbells asked for hospitality, which was given, according to custom, and then slaughtered the Lamonts in their beds, before throwing bodies down the well to poison the water. James Lamont surrendered after accepting fair terms for his people, but the Campbells reneged on the terms and took the Lamonts captive. The two castles were set alight and razed, and the prisoners were transported by boat to Dunoon, where the Campbells slaughtered over two hundred of Lamont's men, women and children. Thirty-six men were killed by hanging, while the rest were stabbed to death or buried alive. James Lamont was thrown into a dungeon for five years. This event became known as the Dunoon massacre.The massacre is commemorated by a memorial in Dunoon, dedicated in 1906 and known as the Clan Lamont Memorial or the Dunoon Massacre Memorial.

Dunoon (; Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Omhain [t̪un ˈo.ɪɲ]) is the main town on the Cowal peninsula in the south of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is located on the western shore of the upper Firth of Clyde, to the south of the Holy Loch and to the north of Innellan. As well as forming part of the council area of Argyll and Bute, Dunoon also has its own community council. Dunoon was a burgh until 1976.The early history of Dunoon often revolves around two feuding clans: the Lamonts and the Campbells. Dunoon was a popular destination when travel by steamships was common around the Firth of Clyde; Glaswegians described this as going doon the watter. This diminished, and many holidaymakers started to go elsewhere as roads and railways improved and the popularity of overseas travel increased. In 1961, during the height of the Cold War, Dunoon became a garrison town to the United States Navy. In 1992, shortly after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, they closed their Holy Loch base in Sandbank, and neighbouring Dunoon suffered an economic downturn. Since the base's closure, the town and surrounding area are again turning to tourism, marketing to outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife lovers, as well as promoting festivals and competitions. The largest annual event held in the town is the Cowal Highland Gathering, which has been held since 1894. The Royal National Mòd has also been held in the town.

High Kirk, also known as the Old Parish Church, is a Church of Scotland church building in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is located on Kirk Street, just south of the town centre. Constructed in the Gothic revival style, it is a Category B listed building. The High Kirk is scheduled for closure. Its final service was held on 1 October 2023.
