Lochau-Hörbranz railway station

Hofrieden Court was located in Lochau in the state of Vorarlberg (Austria) and officially mentioned in a document for the first time in1354. It is also referred to as Hofrieden District Court, in German: Landgericht Hofrieden. This court was in existence until 1806, when the judicial circuits of that time were rendered unnecessary. It was a consequence to the fact that in the course of the Napoleonic wars Bavaria had become the new sovereign in the area of today's Vorarlberg.

Lochau is a municipality in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It is located on Lake Constance, in the Bregenz district, near the border to Germany. About 50.3% of the municipality's area is forest. The Pfänder, the landmark mountain of the neighboring municipality of Bregenz, also lies within Lochau's boundaries. In the west, the Leiblach river forms the border to the German county (Landkreis) of Lindau.

The Leiblach is a 34-kilometre-long (21 mi) tributary of Lake Constance and the Rhine. The Leiblach source is near the German municipality of Heimenkirch, flowing to the southwest. Near the Austrian town of Hohenweiler, the river joins a small tributary, the Rickenbach. This tributary forms a part of the Austrian-German border, and below the confluence the border continues to follow the Leiblach until it eventually empties into Lake Constance between the German town of Lindau and the Austrian town of Lochau.

The Vogelinsel is an island in Lake Constance with an area of around 600 square metres. It lies around 230 metres northwest of the mouth of the Leiblach opposite the Gemarkung of Reutin of the town of Lindau. On the island is the red mole beacon at the harbour entrance of the marina in Lindau-Zech. The island has been designated as a bird reserve. According to BayernAtlas, the Vogelinsel does not belong to any plot of land or any Gemarkung and thus does not belong to the borough of Lindau. It is therefore not incorporated, but nevertheless is part of German territory, as it lies within the Halde, the area of Lake Constance up to a water depth of 25 metres.

At the lot Galgenbihl (English: Gallows Hill), a former place of executions in Bregenz was the location where in earlier times people of Vorarlberg, Austria, convicted in the County of Bregenz, were executed. Synonyms in German to name such a place are e.g. Richtstätte, Richtplatz and Richtstatt, all words implying a place combined with judgement, in German: richten.

Bregenz Hafen railway station (German: Bahnhof Bregenz Hafen) is a railway station in the town of Bregenz, the capital of the district of Bregenz in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It is adjacent to the Bregenz ferry terminal, which offers connections to various points on Lake Constance. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Vorarlberg line of Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). The station is less than 750 metres (2,460 ft) east of Bregenz's primary railway station, at the other end of the promenade along Lake Constance. The station is served by ÖBB and Vorarlberg S-Bahn trains.

Bregenzer Festspiele (German pronunciation: [ˌbreːɡɛntsɐ ˈfɛst.ʃpiːlə]; Bregenz Festival) is a performing arts festival which is held every July and August in Bregenz in Vorarlberg (Austria). It features a large floating stage which is situated on Lake Constance.

Bregenz (German: [ˈbʁeːɡɛnts] ; Vorarlbergian: Breagaz [ˈb̥rea̯ɡ̊ats]) is the capital of Vorarlberg, the westernmost state of Austria. The city lies on the east and southeast shores of Lake Constance, the third-largest freshwater lake in Central Europe, between Switzerland in the west and Germany in the northwest. Bregenz is located on a plateau falling in a series of terraces to the lake at the foot of Pfänder mountain. It is a junction of the arterial roads from the Rhine valley to the German Alpine foothills, with cruise ship services on Lake Constance. The vorarlberg museum (former name Vorarlberger Landesmuseum) in Bregenz is the state art and cultural museum of the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg.It was founded in 1857, and has since been a centre for collection and preservation of the state's art and cultural material. The museum conducts research into this material and makes it available to the public. In terms of content, the museum's work focuses on Vorarlberg material, and at the same time considers this in a context which goes beyond the state's boundaries. The collection contains 150,000 artifacts from archaeology, history, history of art and folklore.The museum co-operates with other national, international and regional cultural institutions and aims at supporting science by cooperating with research facilities and making research findings visible.
