St-Blaise-Lac railway station

St-Blaise CFF railway station (French: Gare de St-Blaise CFF) is a railway station in the municipality of Saint-Blaise, in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Jura Foot line of Swiss Federal Railways. The station is 500 metres (1,600 ft) from St-Blaise-Lac on the Bern–Neuchâtel line of BLS AG.

Saint-Blaise (French pronunciation: ​[sɛ̃ blɛz]) is a municipality in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland.

The Laténium is an archeology museum located in Hauterive, a suburb of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Its name refers to the famous nearby site of La Tène which gave its name to the Second European Iron age. The Laténium is composed of a 2,500 m2 (27,000 sq ft) park and a museum building which also harbours the archaeological section of the Heritage Offices of the State of Neuchâtel, as well as the chair of prehistory of the University of Neuchâtel. The museum and its park are built on what used to be three archaeological sites that were excavated during the construction of the A5 motorway. Theses sites date from the Upper Paleolithic, Bronze Age and Neolithic. The park features dolmens and glacial erratics, reconstitutions of prehistoric and antique devices (a La Tène house, a Gallo-Roman ship and a Celtic bridge, notably), and modern works of art. The museum displays the Bevaix boat, a 20 m (66 ft) Gallo-Roman ship found in Bevaix. Items from periods comprised between the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages are on display, including the remains of a Magdalenian hunting camp.

The Ajoie (German: Elsgau, Franc-Comtois: Aidjoue) is an historic region roughly coinciding with Porrentruy District in the canton of Jura in northwestern Switzerland. Each year on St. Martin's Day they enjoy a substantial banquet lasting for many hours, and composed of all the various cuts of freshly butchered pigs, together with regional wines and shots of damassine, the regional AOC eau de vie. It is also the perfect occasion to discover and enjoy the traditions and other numerous products of the Ajoie terroir. The Swiss Army has established a large military camp for their armoured corps close to the Swiss-French border, on Bure territory.

Marin-Epagnier railway station (French: Gare de Marin-Epagnier) is a railway station in the municipality of La Tène, in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Bern–Neuchâtel line of BLS AG.

(Chaumont (Neuchâtel)) is a mountain peak in Switzerland in the Jura Mountains, with a maximum altitude of 1,180 m (3,870 ft). Below the southern face is the city of Neuchâtel and the lake with the same name. Funiculaire de Chaumont provides access to the summit from Neuchâtel, starting in the station at La Coudre, rising 570m to an altitude of 1087m. At the summit, there is an observatory tower with a viewing platform 60m high, providing panoramic views.

La Tène (French: [la tɛn]; Arpitan: La Tena) is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel. On 1 January 2009, the former municipalities of Marin-Epagnier and Thielle-Wavre merged to form the new municipality of La Tène.The La Tène toponym was originally applied to the lakeside area near Epagnier, notable as the eponymous site of the Iron Age archaeological of the La Tène culture.

Marin-Epagnier was a municipality in the district of Neuchâtel in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel. On 1 January 2009, Marin-Epagnier and Thielle-Wavre merged to form the new municipality of La Tène.It is located at the northeastern tip of Lake Neuchâtel at an elevation of 455 meters, and, as of 2004, a population of 3,925 people. It lies close to Biel, at the boundary between French- and German-speaking regions, and at a knot of highways. Marin Epagnier has attracted numerous administrative offices and workshops of the micromechanics, electronics, and watchmaking industries, such as Métaux Précieux SA Métalor and TAG Heuer watches. The blazon of Marin-Epagnier's coat-of-arms is: "Sable, a Lion rampant or langued and armed Gules". The Iron Age archaeological site of La Tène is within Marin-Epagnier's communal boundaries; see La Tène culture for an account of the history of the site. La Tène was the name of the lakeside area south of Epagnier, at the eastern end of the Lake Neuchâtel. La Tène has a sandy beach, unique in Switzerland.

The Neuchâtel Observatory (French: Observatoire Cantonal de Neuchâtel) is an astronomical observatory funded by the Public Economy Department of the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It is located in the city of Neuchâtel and was founded in 1858. The first director was the 71 year old German astronomer Adolphe Hirsche.Besides astronomical observations, the Neuchâtel observatory also works with atomic clocks. Before 1967, one second was defined by the rotation of the earth, and thus Neuchâtel observatory calibrated clocks via observations. Now its telescope is used in a historical fashion by local amateur astronomers, while the calibration is done via atomic clocks.
