The Jewish Heritage Centre hosts the Marion and Ed Vickar Jewish Museum of Western Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The museum opened in 1998 and displays the Jewish history of settlement in Western Canada. Located on the Asper Jewish Community Campus, the centre is involved in preserving, documenting, interpreting and sharing Jewish heritage. The centre houses a research library, two collection rooms in addition to the museum. The features itself has a Holocaust resource and education centre. The centre is a registered charity and a beneficiary of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors. It receives capital grants from The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.

École Tuxedo Park School is a French immersion elementary school in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It teaches grades K-4 and is part of the Pembina Trails School Division.

St. James Collegiate is a grade 9 to 12 secondary school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is part of the St. James-Assiniboia School Division. The school was the first secondary school established in the division but has since been transformed with a focus on technology programming. Recently the school's academic classes have begun to use a 21st-century approach rooted in UDL. Many teachers are infusing technology in their lesson design for the purposes of digital learning. The rich diversity of the student body greatly contributes to one of the most positive and engaged school cultures in the province of Manitoba.

The Polo Park Racetrack was a Canadian horse racing facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Considered one of the finest racetracks in Western Canada, it was built by Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame inductee R. James Speers. The six-furlong track opened in 1925 (replacing Speer's River Park Racetrack) under the charter of the Winnipeg Jockey Club and the charter of St. Vital Agricultural Society in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At the same time, James Speers founded the Prairie Thoroughbred Breeders' Association to promote a breeding industry in Western Canada. In 1930 he created the Canadian Derby, a premier race for Canadian-bred three-year-old Thoroughbreds hosted by Polo Park Racetrack until its closure in 1956. Besides the track, the facility had stables, grandstand and clubhouse for the Manitoba Jockey Club. In the winter the racetrack constructed two large toboggan slides, which operated in each direction. James Speers acquired land to build what would become Assiniboia Downs and granted an option on the Polo Park lands to real estate developers who wished to build a shopping centre on the site. Speers died in July 1955 and Polo Park Racetrack closed at the end of the 1956 racing season. The new mall opened in 1959. Winnipeg did not have a racing meet in 1957, but Assiniboia Downs opened in June 1958 and racing continued.

Polo Park (corporately styled as CF Polo Park) is a shopping centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is situated on the former Polo Park Racetrack near the junction of Portage Avenue and St. James Street. Its grounds also includes a Scotiabank Theatre (formerly SilverCity). The mall is currently anchored by Husdon's Bay, Forever 21, Urban Planet, Sport Chek, and EQ3. It is the largest mall of the 8 malls in the city, and is the 15th largest shopping centre in Canada, ranking between Guildford Town Centre and Laurier Québec.For census purposes, Polo Park is also the name given to the neighbourhood including and surrounding the shopping centre.

Tuxedo is a residential suburb of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Prior to 1972, the community was incorporated as the Town of Tuxedo. Today, it is the wealthiest area of Winnipeg, with the highest property values. It is located about 7 kilometres (4.5 miles) southwest of downtown Winnipeg and borders the Assiniboine River and Assiniboine Park on the north, Assiniboine Forest on the west, and Edgeland Boulevard to the east. It is also bordered by Kenaston Boulevard and Taylor Avenue, the latter street being named after Frank Trafford Taylor, who was a prominent resident of Tuxedo. It is part of the city ward of Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood, as well as belonging to the provincial electoral district of Tuxedo, and the federal electoral district of Winnipeg South Centre.

Bruce Park is a 13-acre (53,000 m2) urban park located at 1966 Portage Avenue, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The park is bordered to the south by the Assiniboine River, to the east by Douglas Park Road, to the west by Deer Lodge Place, and to the north by Portage Avenue. The park has three footbridges that cross the Truro Creek, which runs through the park. Features of the park include formal flower gardens, grassland and forest naturalization areas, the A.W. Hanks Walkway, the Bruce Park Cenotaph war memorial, a playground, and a wading pool. The park is open year-round.

Naawi-Oodena (Anishinaabemowin; English: "centre of the heart and community") is the largest urban reserve in Manitoba and in Canada.

Yellowquill University College is Manitoba's first First Nations-controlled post-secondary institution. The First Nation owned and operated college was founded in October 1984, by the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council.

Winnipeg Arena was an indoor arena located in the Polo Park district of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The arena was the city's premier ice hockey venue from 1955 to 2004 and is best remembered as the home of the first Winnipeg Jets franchise, which played in the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1972 to 1979 and the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1979 to 1996. It was also home to junior and minor league teams such as the Manitoba Moose (1996–2004) and Winnipeg Warriors (1955–1961). The arena closed after the completion of the MTS Centre in November 2004 and was later demolished. A retail and commercial complex occupies the site today.

The Man-Pop Festival was a music festival held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on August 29, 1970. Led Zeppelin was the headlining act at the event. Other artists performing at the festival included The Youngbloods, The Ides of March, Iron Butterfly, Chilliwack, plus local bands, including Dianne Heatherington and The Merry Go Round plus Sugar ‘n SpiceThe Man-Pop Festival was originally scheduled to take place at the outdoor Winnipeg Stadium. However, a summer rain storm tore down the awning protecting the stage soaking the PA system and amps, which forced the organizers to belatedly move the festival into the nearby Winnipeg Arena. This venue had lower capacity than that of the stadium, and when this capacity was reached, some 800 valid ticket holders were refused admission. This caused a near riot at the entrances of the arena, with many of its glass doors being kicked in by angry patrons. Tickets for the festival cost $5.50 to $12.50. Led Zeppelin's fee was $50,000. Because of the delays caused by the change of venues, Led Zeppelin did not actually take the stage until the early hours of the morning, and did so voluntarily, since they had already been paid pursuant to a rain clause in their original contract. It was through the exhortations of local singer Dianne Heatherington, whose national reputation came later, that Led Zeppelin was finally persuaded to perform.

Tuxedo is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created by redistribution in 1979, and has formally existed since the provincial election of 1981. The riding is located in the southwest section of the city of Winnipeg. Tuxedo is bordered to the east by River Heights, to the south by Charleswood and Fort Whyte, to the north by St. James, and to the west by Charleswood. The riding's population in 1996 was 20,095. The average family income in 1999 was $89,350, almost $40,000 above the provincial average. The unemployment rate was 5.60%. Tuxedo has a significant Jewish population, at 8% of the total. Over 17% of the riding's residents are above 65 years of age, and over 28% have University degrees. Health and social services account for 16% of Tuxedo's industry, with a further 14% in the service sector. Tuxedo has been represented by Progressive Conservative MLAs since its creation. Both of which went on to become Premiers of the province. Former Premier Gary Filmon represented the riding between 1981 and his retirement in 2000. The current MLA is PC Party leader and Premier of Manitoba, Heather Stefanson.
