Virginia Union University

The Belgian Friendship Building or Belgian Pavilion is the former exhibition building for Belgium from the 1939/1940 World's Fair in New York City. It now serves as Barco-Stevens Hall on the campus of Virginia Union University (VUU), in Richmond, Virginia.

Hovey Field is a stadium in Richmond, Virginia. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Virginia Union Panthers. Historic Hovey Field has been the home to Virginia Union University football since 1907. On land originally purchased for just over $8,000, Hovey Field has become a VUU landmark. Hovey Field seats over 10,000 people and was the home to the 1923 VUU National Championship football team. Hovey Field, used by Virginia Union University since 1907, is the second-oldest college football stadium still in use in the United States, Hovey Field was the oldest natural grass football stadium in the country until the natural grass had been replaced with turf in 2020. Harvard Stadium, built in 1903, is the only older college football stadium still in use. Virginia Union also shut out Lincoln University's football team 90–0 in October 2018.

Department of Public Utilities Howard (Overbrook) Road Facility is a historic material storage, repair facility and office complex located in Richmond, Virginia. The complex was begun in 1925, and consists of consists of three brick and concrete buildings, a two-story stucco building and a row of metal and brick storage sheds.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Richmond and Chesapeake Bay Railway Car Barn is a historic interurban car barn located in Richmond, Virginia. It was built by the Richmond and Chesapeake Bay Railway in 1907. It is a one-story, gable-roofed, T-plan building with a steel frame clad with corrugated steel panels. A one-story transformer station was added to the east side of the building in the 1920s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Maggie L. Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies (MLWGSGIS) is a public regional magnet high school in Richmond, Virginia. One of the 18 Virginia Governor's Schools, it draws students from 14 jurisdictions: the counties of Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Goochland, Powhatan, Prince George, Charles City, King and Queen, New Kent and Dinwiddie, and the cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell, and Colonial Heights. As the Governor's School for Government and International Studies, it shared space at Thomas Jefferson High School (TJHS) in the city's West End from its 1991 founding until summer 2001, when it moved into Maggie L. Walker High School after massive renovations. Every year since 2006 the school was recognized by Newsweek as one of the twenty-one most elite public schools in America. In 2013, Maggie Walker was ranked 14th in Newsweek's "Best Public High Schools" In 2014, Maggie Walker was ranked 10th in The Daily Beast's "Best High Schools" and 7th in their "25 Best High Schools in the South."

Southern Stove Works is a historic factory complex located in the Three Corners District of Richmond, Virginia. The complex includes four contributing red brick buildings built between 1902 and 1920. The buildings housed the foundry, assembly operations, warehouse storage, and metal storage. In 1920, Southern Stove Works vacated the buildings and moved to their new facility, Southern Stove Works, Manchester. By 1921, these buildings were occupied by the J. P. Taylor Leaf Tobacco Company (later Universal Leaf Tobacco Company).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The building has been converted into tiny apartments.

The Carver Industrial Historic District is a national historic district located at Carver, Richmond, Virginia. The district encompasses 13 contributing buildings located west of downtown Richmond. The industrial area developed between 1890 and 1930, along the tracks of the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad. The buildings are in a variety of popular 19th-century and early 20th century architectural styles including Queen Anne and Romanesque. Notable buildings include the Peter Stumpf Brewing Company or the Home Brewery (1891), Baughman Stationery Company (1903), Consumers' Ice Company building (1906), American Tobacco Company warehouse (1906), Eagle Paper Company building (1912), Export Leaf Tobacco Company factory (1915), Haines, Jones and Cadbury Company (1926), Saunders Oil Company building (c. 1930), and the Virginia Railroad and Power Company substation (1915).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery is a brewery founded in 2011 and located in Richmond, Virginia, US. Hardywood operates in two adjacent buildings situated between the Diamond and the Fan districts in Richmond.

The Carver Residential Historic District is a national historic district located at Carver, Richmond, Virginia. The district encompasses 312 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site located west of downtown Richmond. The primarily residential area developed starting in the mid-19th century. The buildings are in a variety of popular 19th-century and early 20th-century architectural styles, including Gothic Revival and Greek Revival. Notable buildings include the Hardin Davis House (1842), Amanda Ragland House (1843), Reuben Lacy House (1859), Rueben T. Hill House (1900), George Washington Carver Elementary School (1887), Moore Street Baptist Church (1909), Baughman Brothers/Biggs Antique Company building (1924), and the T&E Laundry Company Building (c. 1915).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, with a boundary increase in 2006.

The Hermitage Road Warehouse Historic District encompasses an industrial district in northern Richmond, Virginia. It is bounded on the west by Hermitage Street, on the east by Interstate 95, on the north by Sherwood Avenue, and on the south by Overbrook Road. This area, which contains mainly warehouses, was developed between 1918 and the 1950s, with most development taking place in the last decade of that period. The warehouses are generally single-story brick structures, although detailing appears in a variety of architectural styles. There are several multi-story buildings, notably a six-story office block attached to the warehouse of the A. H. Robins building. The land was originally owned by A. D. Williams, who began selling it off for development in 1918. Eastward development of the area was halted by the construction of I-95, and only one building was built after 1960.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, with a boundary increase in 2023.

Carver is a neighborhood near the Virginia Commonwealth University campus in Richmond, Virginia, and straddles alongside the border between Downtown Richmond and North Side. The neighborhood is in the process of gentrification and is heavily inhabited with students attending Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia Union universities due to the two school's proximities to the neighborhood. The main roads through the neighborhood are West Leigh Street (Virginia Route 33) as well as Clay and Marshall Streets. The neighborhood is primarily residential, though it is home to several scrap metal yards and restaurants. The Carver Industrial Historic District and Carver Residential Historic District are national historic districts located at Carver.

The Stuart C. Siegel Center is a 190,000-square-foot (18,000 m2) multi-purpose facility on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, United States. The facility's main component is the 7,637-(expandable to 8,000) seat E.J. Wade Arena. It also served as a student recreational area until 2010, when the new Cary Street Gym complex was completed. It now is used purely for VCU athletics and includes a weight room, auxiliary basketball court, and a cafè. The E.J. Wade Arena hosts Division I level NCAA inter-collegiate athletics and serves as a general-purpose assembly space for special events such as graduations, concerts, receptions, and a variety of competitions (both athletic and non athletic). It is named after Richmond businessman Stuart C. Siegel. The complex opened in 1999 and cost $30.1 million to construct. $7 million of the cost was donated by local businessman Stuart C. Siegel; the center bears his name as a result. Its main tenant is the VCU Rams men's basketball team, which enjoys one of the nation's best home court winning percentages since moving into the facility. The court has received the reputation as arguably the toughest place to play in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The VCU Rams men's basketball team currently holds the 11th-highest home court winning percentage in Division I basketball with a winning percentage of 85.79 The student section, dubbed the "Rowdy Rams" is extremely passionate. In 2012–2013, the Rowdy Rams received the Naismith Student Section of the Year Award, recognizing the best student section in college basketball. Since January 2011, every home game at the Siegel Center has been sold out and the streak currently stands at 134 (as of 3/8/19). The arena also routinely hosts local and state high school basketball tournaments, in addition to hosting the annual Virginia Regional (formerly VCU/NASA) FIRST Robotics Competition.Before the 2016-2017 basketball season, the arena was renamed the E.J. Wade Arena; a construction company owned by a local family in Mechanicsville, VA. The deal is for $2.75 million over ten years, but the Wade family has promised a total monetary donation of $4.05 million over those ten years.
