The L.W. Ross House, near Taylorsville, Kentucky, is a historic house with Queen Anne-style influences which was built in about 1896. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.It has a hipped roof with gabled-roof extensions, and an octagonal tower.

The All Saints Catholic Church in Taylorsville, Kentucky is a historic church on the east side of Jefferson Street between Park Alley and Red Row Alley. It was built between 1830 and 1843. It was added to the National Register in 1992.It has some elements of Gothic Revival in style.It was deemed significant as "one of the oldest extant Catholic churches in the Louisville archdiocese and as one of the early examples of Gothic Revival architecture used for church construction in the small towns of the region."

Brashear's Creek is a USGS-classified stream flowing through Shelby and Spencer Counties in Kentucky. It begins at the confluence of Bullskin and Clear Creeks in Shelby County, approximately 2 miles east-northeast of Finchville, Kentucky. It flows approximately 26 miles from its source, through Rivals, to its terminus at Salt River in Taylorsville, Spencer County, Kentucky.The stream normally flows year-round, but during prolonged drought, it has been known to stop, with a number of dry spots in shallower areas. Due to its relatively large watershed and surrounding moderately steep terrain, it is also prone to flash flooding and can cut off a number of smaller roads at peak levels. In its history, Brashear's Creek has served as a source of drinking water for humans and livestock, irrigation water for crops, hydraulic power for mills, fishing and paddling

Beechland, near Taylorsville, Kentucky, was built in 1804. It was built by Jacob Yoder and has also been known as Jacob Yoder House. The listing included four contributing buildings. Jacob Yoder was a Revolutionary War soldier and innovative merchant-trader, was "the first entrepreneur to take a load of goods down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers on a flat boat from Pennsylvania to New Orleans."

Taylorsville Lake State Park is a public recreation area encompassing more than 1,650 acres (670 ha) in Spencer County, Kentucky, roughly midway between Louisville and Lexington. Taylorsville Lake, its major feature, extends into parts of Anderson County and Nelson County.

Elk Creek is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Spencer County, Kentucky, United States. Its population was 1,986 as of the 2020 Census, up from 1,539 as of the 2010 census.

Taylorsville Lake is a 3,050-acre (1,230 ha) artificial lake or reservoir located mainly in Spencer County, Kentucky. Construction by the United States Army Corps of Engineers started in 1974, and flooding began in 1983. The total cost of the lake was $103 million. It is about 18.5 miles (29.8 km) long. Backwater areas of the lake are also located in Nelson County and Anderson County. The dam is located on the Salt River, and it is estimated that it has prevented more than $30.5 million in flood damages since it became operational. The lake is named for Taylorsville, the county seat of Spencer County, and today serves as a major economic source for Spencer County, as well as a popular fishing area. Taylorsville Lake State Park occupies a portion of the lake's northern shore.

Simeon Moore House, also known as Cane Run Farm, is a historic house and farmstead located along Cane Run on Taylorsville Road, in the Fisherville neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.The Simeon Moore house was built by widower Simeon Moore (1804-1873) in about 1850. He had purchased 134 acres in far eastern Jefferson County in 1836 and added 77 more acres to his farm in 1850, the year he is believed to have built his home. Simeon's wife Jane (Carrithers) Moore died in 1838 at the age of 27, leaving him with at least five children. The Moores' son Charles inherited the house at his father's death and owned it until about 1900 when it was sold out of the family. The house is a 5-bay brick I-House in design with Greek Revival interior detailing which is substantially intact. The original house is unaltered in plan and consists of one room on either side of a central stair hall on each floor. A modern kitchen ell to the rear of the house replaces an earlier kitchen and porch addition. An early 20th century front porch was replaced in recent years. The form of the house is common in the area but the brick is laid in a bond pattern said to be unique in Jefferson County. The penciled mortar joints are similar to those at the Presley Tyler House at the Blackacre Nature Preserve and Historic Homestead. The property includes two vernacular frame barns, a root cellar, a corn crib converted to an office and garage, and a modern garage.

The Logan House, in the area of Finchville, Kentucky, was built in about 1860. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is a center passage plan brick building on an ashlar foundation. The house is believed to have been built around 1860 "by a descendant of Kentucky pioneer Benjamin Logan who settled on this site in 1794 on a 1,000-acre land grant. Logan is said to have built a house and grist mill on the site and lived here until his death in 1802." The listing included five contributing buildings.
